"Did someone tamper with the video footage?" Millie asked him.

"No, Mom! They checked it and everything seems fine." Mason replied while still trying to message the search team members.

“Mom, I will go search for her once again. I am unable to sit here and wait for her return,” Mason said after a few seconds of internal struggle and put his phone inside his pocket.

He can’t sit at home and worry about Tina until she comes back. He wanted to join the search for her. He can't rest until he finds her. So, he rushed outside the house without waiting for Millie’s response.

“Where are you, Tina? Please come back safely to us. If not for us, think about your mother. She would break off,” Millie sighed and looked in the direction of where Grace is.

Mason walked on the same path Tina took several hours ago. He remembered when he brought Tina to the beach for the first time. She was excited about her legs sinking into the sand when she walked. She played for hours on this sand and never wanted to go back home until Grace came to take her back home.

“Where are you, my baby daughter? Please be safe. Daddy will definitely find you,” He stared at the ocean and spoke.

At that time, someone who passed him came back and looked at his face once again.

After pondering for several minutes, she said, “You… I know you… Oh! Shit, I am sorry. It’s a mistake.”

The woman, who talked to him, started to run from there. Mason found it weird and chased behind her. She took a turn and tried to escape from him using a forest route. But Mason was fast and he caught her in no time.

“You! Who are you? Why are you running away from me? Are you the one who kidnapped my daughter?” Mason asked while gripping her hands tightly.

‘How did he find out? I should have never spoken to him. What a grave mistake, I made!’ Ava cursed her bad luck and tried to get rid of his grasp on her hands.

“If you don’t speak now, then I will call the cops on you. Where is my daughter?” Mason inquired.

“Please, no… I don’t know what you are talking about.” Ava shook her head as fear engulfed her.

“I don’t think you are going to speak until I hand you over to the officers, are you?" He lifted his phone and dialed the chief of police.

“Hello, chief. I caught the…”

Before he could speak anymore, Ava shouted,

“I will tell you… I will tell you everything. Please do not call the cops. Please… I beg you. Please. My husband has just got a transfer here and we will be in trouble if the cops are involved. Please, I will tell you everything I know. Please... Please...let go of me,” She pleaded with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Did you catch the culprit? We are coming there right now, just share your location," The chief spoke hurriedly.

“No, chief. I called you to check if there is any update and to ask the status of the search. Did you catch the culprit or found any clue or anything useful?” Mason asked on the phone even though he already knows that there would be no updates.

He had just messaged them before leaving the house. And if there is any, they would have called him immediately.

"There are no updates yet. But do not worry, I have sent a few more teams to broaden the search. We will find your daughter in no time," The chief assured him.

When he received an answer that he most expected, he was not so upset, unlike the other times. He disconnected the call and glanced at Ava who was almost on the verge of a breakdown.

“Now, tell me, where is my daughter?” Mason looked at her straight and asked.

“She is with Kara,” Ava responded while apologizing to Kara in her mind for more than a hundred times.

“Who is Kara?” He asked and twisted her arms.

“Please don’t hurt me. We didn’t do anything wrong with the baby. She is doing fine and must have grown into a fine young woman,” Ava said with a shivering tone.

Mason didn’t understand why she would call his daughter a baby? He analyzed her to see if she is telling the truth or not. Her body language didn't imply that she might be lying. But he has to be sure before he makes any decision.

“You didn’t answer me who Kara is?” Mason asked once again.

“We both are the nurses who took care of the delivery that day when the babies were born,” Ava replied with hesitation.

She was still eyeing an opportunity to escape from him. She thought, 'The less she spoke the better.'

“So why did you kidnap my daughter? Money? I will give you anything you want, just let go of my daughter,” Mason squeezed her hand and ordered.

“I am sorry, I don’t know where your daughter is right now. Only Kara knows and I am not in touch with her after she left the hospital.” Ava replied, still trying to figure out a way to run away from there.

“Please tell me where my daughter is, I will do anything you ask me to do, in exchange for my daughter. Please…” Mason fell on his feet and begged.

“You have to believe me, after that day we never met. They shifted to some other city and we lost touch over time." She said and almost succeeded in getting her hand out of his grasp.

Mason stood up and pulled her towards his house.

"What are you doing? Where are you taking me?" She screamed and almost got her hands free.

"I know several ways to make you talk. If you tell me the truth now then I would let you go right this minute. I will also not file any complaint against you. All I need to know is the location of my daughter," Mason uttered under his breath.

"I don't know! I don't know where they are right now. You should have worried about all these before you ditched the newborn at the hospital. I saved your daughter. You left one of the twin babies in the hospital as you thought she was not alive. Listen to me carefully, she was not dead, actually, in a few minutes, she revived. Kara found that she was no stillborn. We tried to contact you but no one answered our calls. The next day, we received a death certificate for the baby who is still alive. At that moment, Kara wanted to adopt the baby. So I brought the infant and gave it to her. I don't think I did anything wrong. Moreover, if this news comes out then it's you, who would face trouble,” Ava spilled the truth and mocked him.

Mason didn’t understand at first what she was talking about. But later when she said twins and hospital, he understood who she was mentioning. So, my other daughter is still alive? He let go of her hands and held his head. Tears overflowed his eyes and his vision blurred.

The minute her hands were free, she dashed away without looking back. When Mason came out of his stupor, he realized that the woman was nowhere in sight. He searched the whole area but there was no one nearby. He rushed to his home to inform Millie about this.

...

"So how did it go? Did he believe you?" Otis asked, coming out of the shade.

"I think so," The shapeshifter said and turned into a cat.

She meowed once and disappeared from there. Otis shook his head and walked towards the car that was parked a few feet away from where he was standing.

"Seer, we should have hired someone else. I highly doubt that she would have not done the job properly." Otis complained.

"We will know in two weeks. Let's go home," Adrain ordered and closed his eyes.

The mark on his right hand kept on shining. He caressed the mark and declared in his mind,

'I will find you no matter what. I will bring you home.'

The car moved towards his home. Once in awhile, Otis looked through the rearview mirror to check on Adrian's status. These past few days had been hectic for them as they overworked day and night without much sleep. It was difficult to trace the past and find out the truth.

In the beginning, they tried to find out about the daughter of the witch who took advantage of his Seer. But when they found her, it turned out that she didn't have any explicit power. Moreover, her character is completely opposite to what Seer experienced.

Later, somehow Adrain found out about the other twin, who was still alive. She matched the description perfectly. Right now, their plan was going smoothly so far. But Otis feared that they might face some issues if the other twin was not ready to act according to their plan.
