LOGINMason stopped talking as he felt his heart heavy and he was unable to breathe. He got up and walked away. He was not sure if it was happening due to the altitude they were in or because of his guilt towards his other baby whom he never got to see.
Millie walked behind him and said, "You need to stop feeling guilty. Even if the baby was still alive, we know she might have not been born healthy. Have you ever thought about how she would be treated by this monster? The baby would not be happy with us. The minute, Grace came to know about the compilations Dina had, she started to stop talking to us about that other child."
"I know! I am now more worried about the baby in her hands. What if she gets the same issue as her birth mother?" Mason asked.
This was one of the greatest fears in his life. How would Grace treat Tina then? Will she be abandoned just like Dina?
"Do not worry. And stop talking like my daughter. I thought you are at least a little sensible person. Don't you know that it was just due to lack of proper nutrients, the birth mother became anemic? Do not overthink or fret about this issue anymore. Let us put a hold on some things that are not in our hands for now, and concentrate on the current issues that we have in our hands." Millie stated.
Mason turned around and looked at Millie in confusion.
"We are going to your parents' place. I wanted to stay behind but my daughter made me sell all the properties and buy a house at the seaside. I have a home to live, but what about you guys? Are you going to stay with your parents or you already have some other plans?" Millie asked.
As she was worried, if her daughter stayed with her in-laws then she had to go and try to calm both of them down almost every single day.
"Mom, I bought a Villa next to your house, when I saw it on sale. So, we will be living nearby as your neighbor. And by chance, my parent's house is next to ours. So we all will be living next to each other on the same row but in different houses." Mason explained.
"You really planned this well! Didn't you?" Millie mocked and walked away worrying about her troublesome future from then on.
Back in the hospital, nurse Kara sat next to the baby and kept on playing with her. Mariah walked into the room and shook her head in disapproval.
"Are you still sitting in front of the baby?" Mariah complained.
"No, I am just going to leave now. But…" Kara hesitated.
"But what? Didn't you say, you have a date with Emma today? Just go. I will stay and look after your precious baby."
Once she was sure that Mariah would stay behind, Kara felt a little peace of mind. She then left to search for her partner Emma. When she met Emma, her smile broadened.
"You look happy today. What happened? Please do not tell me that it is because of the leftover twin baby," Emma complained while pulling her into a hug.
"Shut up! If you call her once again as a leftover, I would break up with you!" Kara declared and moved away in distress.
"I am sorry! I am so sorry, Sweetie! I did not know you were so attached to that baby. I am really sorry. So, if you like her so much then why don't we adopt her?" Emma asked while trying to cool down her lover a little bit.
Kara stopped and looked at her with a shocking expression. She had never thought about extending their family but if Emma is fine, then… She dreamed about a perfect family of three. It looked so sweet and her face once again brightened.
"Are you serious when you made that suggestion?" Kara looked at Emma and asked seriously.
"Why not? Don't you have any plans to extend our family? Or are you planning to ditch me?" Emma asked.
"No! Never! I love you!" Kara kissed Emma on her lips.
"But you are really serious about adopting Dina?" Kara asked.
"Who is Dina now?" Emma confusedly asked.
"The infant who was left behind by Grace. They planned to name the babies as Tina and Dina. Since the baby did not breathe after she was born, we thought she was a still-born baby. But later when I picked her up, she cried…I held her in my hands and the baby came back to life. It’s a miracle you know," There were tears formed in Kara’s eyes after she thought about that precious moment.
"If you really wish to, then I will support your decision," Emma said as she understood now that there was no option for her to back off.
Emma was a resident doctor who was three weeks away from finishing her residency. She met Kara during an emergency call one day and they both liked each other from the time they came to know each other. Slowly, their chemistry worked out and they were already in the phase of settling down.
Emma had an offer in her hand but she had to move to another city. Today, she was planning to propose to Kara and ask her hand in marriage. But looking at Kara's excitement about Dina, she was not sure if this was the correct moment to ask her to shift along with her to the other city.
"What are you thinking? If you do not like me adopting Dina, then you can say that directly to me. I won't judge you or leave you for that!" Kara said while holding her hands tightly.
Emma could feel her shivering inside. Kara badly wanted to adopt that baby and she could understand her clearly. Her eyes displayed the fear she was holding inside as she was afraid that Emma might go back on her decision.
"No, it is not about that. Also, we are adopting the baby together and not you alone. Actually, I was not hesitant about that. You already know right, I received an offer last week. I am planning to accept that offer." Emma said while looking at Kara in her eyes.
"Wow! It is a good thing. So why are you worried about that my dear, Doctor?" Kara said while jumping in joy.
She could not believe the minute Dina came into their life everything was going so smoothly and wonderfully.
Emma took a deep breath and said, "I need to move to the other city in another two months. So I wanted to ask you, are you willing to move along with me to the new city?"
Finally, she put the news out in open and looked at Kara's eyes with expectation.
"Definitely. I will follow you even if you invite me to hell," Kara proclaimed.
"I love you! I really really love you," Emma declared.
She pulled Kara near her and kissed her deeply. Their tongues intertwined with each other and played together. The kiss lasted for a very long time.
Emma picked up her phone and made a call to her mother while holding Kara in one hand.
"Mom, she agreed! Can you believe it? And we are planning to adopt a baby." She shouted in joy.
Kara felt shy as her cheeks were still flushed with a tinge of pink and her lips had turned bright red because of the deep kiss they had moments ago. She held Emma’s hand tightly and stroked it with her hand. Emma smiled and blew a kiss in the air.
Later, they both went to Emma's room and had an unforgettable night. The next day, when Kara went back to the hospital to inform everyone about the good news, she was shocked to see Mariah shouting on the phone.
“What do you mean it was not a mistake from your end? How can you send us a copy of the death certificate when the child is still alive? What nonsense are you talking about?” Mariah screamed while holding the phone tightly in her hand.
Kara raised her eyebrows and asked her co-worker Ava, “what’s happening?”
Ava moved close to her and whispered, “The twin baby who got left behind two days ago; it looks like they have already informed the office that it was still-born and today we received a death certificate. Mariah lost her temper once she saw it and called the respective office to grill them.”
Suddenly, Kara realized that it was her opportunity. If the kid goes into the system, then she was not sure if they would even let them adopt her. She wanted to grasp this chance that was presented right in front of her.
So she pulled the receiver from Mariah and spoke to the representative,
“We are sorry! It was a misunderstanding from our end. We did not process the correct data in our system. We apologize for the inconvenience that we have caused. And thank you! Have a nice day.”
Millie looked at him in surprise.“Why did you not inform me about that earlier?” Millie complained.“I was about to tell you but we were interrupted by…” Mason said.“So were you planning to hide this from us? Your parents? She is our granddaughter too,” Kylie grumbled after hearing his response.“Mom, relax… I will tell you everything but not now,” Mason tried to calm her.“Where is she? Did someone kidnap her or…? What happened? When is she coming home?” Abel, who had walked near them, continuously questioned Mason.“As I said before I will tell you everything later. But for now, our Tina is well and good. She will come back in two days.” Mason informed them while looking at Millie meaningfully. Then Millie understood who he was talking about. Her heart screamed, ‘No no no no no no no no no…’. This is not correct. W
"No, no... I just want to know where my daughter is. Please don't do anything to them," Mason quickly added.“What happened? What did he say?” Millie asked him while holding her thumping chest.“Yes, mom! She was alive when she left the hospital.” Mason replied."What should I do now mom? What should I do? I am excited to meet her," He almost started to jump up and down.As promised, Robert found Dina’s address and messaged him in a couple of hours.“Mom, I must leave now. I will go and bring her back home.” Mason announced and almost ran outside to his car.“Mason, wait! No! I will go. But not now. We have to find Tina first. Anyway, if any of us leave right now, then Grace may start to doubt us. We still haven’t told her about Tina being missing.” Millie reminded him.“But mom…” He hesitated. It took them already long enough to know that his
“Madam, you are awake! Should I wake up the chef and ask him to prepare dinner for you?” The butler asked.“No, I am fine. Where is Mason?” Grace asked him.“Sir left a few hours ago and hasn’t returned yet.” He reported to her.“Ok.” She leaned against the sofa and switched on the TV.Noticing the Butler was still standing next to the side table, without even glancing at him, she ordered,“You can go back now. I will wait here until Mason returns home. Anyway, I had enough sleep already and I am not sleepy anymore.”Butler hesitated for a second and then said, “Ok, Madam. In case, if you need anything, please give me a call. I will come back right away.”Grace didn’t respond to him. The butler waited for a few minutes before turning around to leave. He didn’t know if she knew about Tina being missing. Looking at her calm demeanor, he understood
When Mason reached home, he saw Millie still waiting on the porch. He raced to her with a joy-filled face. Millie was confused as she could not understand why Mason became happy all of a sudden.‘Did he find my granddaughter?’ Millie wondered and looked behind him.But there was no Tina insight. She walked down the stairs hurriedly and searched around.“Mom, Mom… My baby girl is alive. She is fine. She is alive.” He shouted in excitement.Millie rushed near him and asked, “Where is she? What happened? Why did she not come with you?”Still searching for Tina, she ran near the mansion’s gate. Mason stopped her and said, “I don’t know where she is right now. But we can find out soon! All we need to do is hire a private investigator and they will trace her current location.”“What do you mean by that? Did you not find her yet or... what are you even saying? Where is T
"Did someone tamper with the video footage?" Millie asked him."No, Mom! They checked it and everything seems fine." Mason replied while still trying to message the search team members.“Mom, I will go search for her once again. I am unable to sit here and wait for her return,” Mason said after a few seconds of internal struggle and put his phone inside his pocket. He can’t sit at home and worry about Tina until she comes back. He wanted to join the search for her. He can't rest until he finds her. So, he rushed outside the house without waiting for Millie’s response.“Where are you, Tina? Please come back safely to us. If not for us, think about your mother. She would break off,” Millie sighed and looked in the direction of where Grace is.Mason walked on the same path Tina took several hours ago. He remembered when he brought Tina to the beach for the first time. She was excited about her legs sinking into the
Once Otis got Grace’s full permission, he lifted the magical knife and drew a straight line on her right-hand thumb. The metallic red blood dripped all over the frame while the letters written on the board absorbed it instantly. It shined for a second before the blood marks disappeared completely from the frame.Grace closed her eyes as the pain was not as mild as she expected. She actually felt like she was undergoing surgery without anesthesia. She didn’t know that a small cut could give her such intense pain.“Do not worry, mother-in-law. The pain will be gone in a minute.” Adrian said with a triumph smile.‘Your days are outnumbered, my dear bride. You are coming for me and I am waiting here with your mother’s support,’ His smile widened and his eyes sparkled. When Grace opened her eyes and realized she had disclosed her weakness in front of him, she felt humiliated. Still, as he said, the pain did disappear w
