Chapter 1

Secret

You couldn't even go to the toilet in peace. Whoever it was who pressed the doorbell so pushingly and thus requested very urgent admission, had better a good reason for this disturbance at the very early morning. Whereby ten o'clock in the morning probably passed as morning for some parts of society.

"Yes, yes!", Sabine called out through the open bathroom door into the hallway, while she pulled up her pajamas and flushed the toilet.

Briefly carelessly holding her fingers under the tap, she padded to the front door on bare feet to finally give the troublemaker a face. Why hadn't Wilhelm actually taken pity and answered the door? Probably he was still in a comatose deep sleep after yesterday's party orgy and would not wake up from it anytime soon.

Sabine opened the door and found herself facing a good-humored woman in her mid-fifties who, as always, wore her blonde hair neatly tucked into a bun; the face framed by two loose strands. Her slim silhouette was covered by a tasteful, summery white dress with red flowers. On her left hand she balanced a bakery-wrapped cardboard tray.

"I greet you, dear Sabine," she said happily and immediately pulled the person addressed into a brief hug and kiss on the cheek, before examining her more closely, "You give the impression that you have only just got up."

"Well, to be honest, I haven't been on my feet for too long," admitted Sabine, slightly ashamed. If her bladder hadn't made her use the toilet, she would still be wrapped up in bed and catching up on some badly needed sleep.

She tried to smooth her hair, which had been disheveled from lying, with her hands. "Please come in, Dorothea."

“I suppose Wilhelm will sleep the sleep of the righteous too, isn't he?” Suggested Dorothea with a slightly reproachful look at her son's locked bedroom door and her free hand already floating over the handle.

Before she even got the idea to just come in and see things that she was not allowed to see, Sabine pushed herself between the door and she, thus drawing her attention back to herself.

“Yes, it's gotten really late. But I'll be happy to wake him up right away. May I offer you a cup of coffee beforehand? ”Sabine asked politely and guided Dorothea away from the bedroom towards the kitchen.

It was just missing that his mother happened to uncover his best-kept secret on his birthday of all times.

Sabine quickly finished off Dorothea with a cup of warm coffee before she hurried across the hall and quietly entered Wilhelm's room. The roller shutter still darkened the room significantly, although the daylight tirelessly fought its way through the individual cracks. Fortunately, the window was tilted and let in fresh air. Male vapors after a night of partying could be really unpleasant in closed rooms. But it was bearable like that.

Sabine slowly closed the door behind her and went to the foot of the bed. The covers had slipped, revealing four hairy, intertwined male legs. With narrowed eyes she could finally make out the familiar face at the head end. She walked around the bed and shook Wilhelm's shoulder while repeatedly hissing his name into the silence. Despite her best efforts, she got no more than an unwilling grunt. When Wilhelm slept once, he slept like a rock. And if he didn't want to get up at all, he had to be struggled with harder bandages to wake him up.
