The morning came slowly but the long night was a splendid one. It was nice to hear the birds chorus in harmony and the disturbing voices of other villa mates again. I reflected back into yesterday with a curse that almost vomited from my mouth.

"Why on earth will a Hausa woman call my line asking for a Muhammad? Why on earth will a strange number not call and the caller should be one of the richest person in Africa? Must it be always a Hausa? Abi e no wan better..."

The more I tried to reflect more backward the more Shade's snore hinders my thinking.

"But wait, how can a lady sleeps so comfortably and snore like a buzz saw. Haven't Joshua seen this side of this girl yet? Some guys can be tasteless Sha, in as much you are under skirt, they must woo you abi, that's what they came to this life to do?" - I muttered.

"So you love Joshua and can do anything and everything for him. But can he do anything for you like you would for him? Can he resist the advances from other girls for you, a replica of the baboons?" -I thought as I continued to look at her more closely.

I wasn't sure the point I was aiming at, but I was sure I was going to do something, something that will make her butterfly run away from her rose.

"Can she endure to see her so-called boyfriend dancing around another girl? A girl so much beautiful than her? Maybe you just have to understand that you cannot be happy completely. This is life and you cannot get all you want." - I marvelled in disdain with the stare that continued to glue on her horrible snore.

She stretched with a loud yawning and I slowly erected from the bed.

"Good morning" - she spoke with a gruff masculine voice.

"Welcome back alive" - I answered with a silent chuckle.

"Do we really have to go to class again? I just want to graduate." she said as she reluctantly rose from bed.

"Go and graduate naw. You don even try you papa go welcome you for house. [You have tried, your Dad will welcome you back at home.]

"But who brought the idea of schooling gan ? I swear e no go better for the person. [The person shall remain unfortunate] - she said as she yawned again and took some steps to enter the bathroom.

"Ode.[silly] na person wey don die, wey people don forget, this generation no even see for face you dey give curse so? No waste your curse, save her for person wey go vex you o." [You are placing a curse on a person who is dead and long forgotten. Don't waste your sweat, save it for later] - I said with a silly grin.

"Ehn! E no go better for him dead body." [His dead body will not rest in peace] - she shouted from the bathroom as she laughed at same time.

Trekking to class was what used to be fun but now, I don't know anymore. I have to wipe my face more often as we walked a longer way to class. I honestly don't understand why lecture theaters have to be changed every new semester. Now, we have to walk for forty days and forty night before we get to class?

Shade seemed not to be bothered with the long distance. She already plugged her earpiece, singing along as we walk more and further. Maybe I should have just taken my earpiece too, maybe this walk wouldn't be that bad.

"Let's say Dele was the real deal, and we are still together, he would have come pick Shade and I at my hostel and everyone would be just wish they are in my shoes. But the idiot, such a broke dude that has nothing to offer but satisfy his little straw underneath his trouser. What is the use of a man so handsome without a good pocket? Such a wasted time and energy I had with the idiot."

"Hello dear" - Shade's voice brought me out of my thought as it appeared she was talking to Joshua.

"Yes, we are almost getting to class now" - she responded after a small quiet.

"Yes, can't wait to see you too and I love you more" - she said with a smile that widens her cheek.

Maybe I just needed her to tell me what the conservation was all about as my curiosity increased. But she kept on singing along to the song she was listening to.

"Don't worry, this is only for a while, I promise you" - I said with a side look that stared at her.

The lecture theater was rowdy as if we were at the market square as it appeared the lecturer was yet to arrive and everyone were exchanging pleasantries with one another. I could see Dele from afar off, it appears he didn't even miss me at all. He was as handsome as always but not as if I care anyway. I am better off by myself.

Shade quickly joined in the fashion and began greeting everyone and anyone that comes her way. Greetings is one thing I hated so passionately but it not as if I have any other choice than to join in the way everyone was.

"Happy resumption o" - I said to a lady standing right in front of me.

"Happy resumption" -she said as she completely turned her face to me and with a buoyant smile that opened her lips and revealed her teeth.

"Are we even in same department and level at all?" - I asked with a persistent look into her eyes.

"Yes o"- she answered but with a gentle smile which still revealed her fluorescent teeth.

"And I have never seen your face before sha"- I said giggling that almost burst into laughter.

"Such a beautiful lady with some many features that pointed from her body. Maybe she is just what I need. I wonder if Joshua can resist this one." - I thought as I stretched my hand out for a shake.

"I am Cynthia"

"Jeruel" - She answered accepting the shake.

She was already seated in the darkened angle of the bar and watched him sit on the bar stool. Slowly and slowly she walked and sit next to him, tossed a glass of whiskey to him as he gulped it down, and slapped the glass on the bar before turning his face away.I knew Jeruel was the perfect lady for the job. • Poisonous Lips [Nigerian Vibe]   Eyes of an Eagle

Dusk was falling rapidly. The sun had already set behind the mountains, and the sky had been drained of colors. It was already the close of a day, wasn't it some seconds ago the day started?Shade and I had just arrived from class. I could see her lips moving but all she said only went through my ear and came out the other. How can I make Joshua mine became a question that seemed a puzzle.“Maybe I need to keep a close watch on him. But, I mean, I don't even know about him than he is dating Shade. I don't know where he lives or anything else.” I took a slow, deep breath as my mind lingered more in thought.“Or, should I just ask her? Would it be a good idea?”Shade was completely carried away by her phone as she continued to laugh in mirthfulness artlessly flowing. I wondered what was so funny but I wasn't that curious to find out. The curiosity I had was tha

It seemed fast but Jeruel and I were able to get along as we have so many things in common. I could deduce from all she told me that she was a girl who loves the physical appearance. Of course, who wants to be with someone with a gorilla face? She was what I termed 'Queen of beauty Queens'. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes. She walked in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies. Her magnificent physique was a perfect representation of a goddess. • Poisonous Lips [Nigerian Vibe]   New Semester

The atmosphere was glaring and azured. It shined beautifully on each and everyone as students began to troop in and out of the school environment. Shade and I had just resumed like every other students. Such beautiful smile that rested on our faces formed a furrowed brown and we waved to each person as we walked pass them. I couldn't help but imagined what the semester would be like, would it be as unfitting or unacademic like the last semester?Dele and I haven't spoken since the last time I ended things with him. I didn't miss him though, maybe just his touch. He was a guy that really knew how to satisfy his lady. But that wasn't enough, I wanted more. All through the holiday, he would call on few times but I would intentionally not pick his call until he stopped calling for good and that was fine with me.Shade and Joshua are still the love birds soaring high in the high heavens. The breeze injected with multiple endurance as I crawled out of bed to brush my teeth. Though dawn came slowly, it was followed by the brilliant blue sky of morning. I disconnected the charger from my phone since it was already fully charged. It was Saturday and all I could think about was how and only how I would get my dirty clothes washed. If I were to be home, using a washing machine would have been easy and my problem would have been solved in just no time. But here in school, my hands will have to do the job. I carried out my laundry, it was a heavy load but still I have no choice than to do it by hand.I started hand-washing my clothes, squeezing each one hard and harder in the bucket. This is evey students frustration, shouldering the worries of washing by hand. Particularly in my hostel, everyone were at one angle or the other with their hands as their savior.
