Chapter 27~ Heated

Isere parents arrived on friday afternoon, but before they came, they told her. The rest of the weekdays were boring to her because thoughts of her parents coming were wandering in her mind, making her mood sour.

Ejiro didn't come back to the hostel until wednesday, surprisingly Morgan returned to the hostel that same day.

Ejiro had so wanted to start up a fight with her but Isere told her not to do something that wouldn't have an end.

The only interesting moment this week for Isere was when she got woken up by Kelvin's call and slept after hearing his voice. She hadn't seen him since the night he dropped her. Their departments were located in different places and she could only go find him when she had a free lecture day which she hadn't have asides the one last year.

Isere parent came to her hostel immidately they reached Osun state. Isere welcomed them into her room, luckily for her Morgan and Ejiro was out.

"We will be going to the hotel now, we just came to see you first," Her father said.

"God bless you my child, let us pray," he mother spoke. As soon as her mother started praying, Isere phone began to ring.

Her mother didn't stop praying and neither did Isere phone stop to ring. After her mother was done, the phone rang for the third time. "Why is your phone ringing Isere?" Her mother asked, Isere father left the room.

Isere began to panic, who could it be? she thought.

"Our teaching has-been effective on you, you bought the exact same phone you lost," Her mother spoke making Isere heart beat erractically.

"Give me your phone, let me see who is calling you," her mother hollered her.

It could be Kelvin, Isere thought, she won't give this phone to her mother, she said to herself coming up with a good plan.

Isere grabbed her phone and as suspected, it was Kelvin calling, she stretched the phone to her mother and as her mother was about to collect it, Isere let it slip from her hand, letting go of the phone as it fell on the floor.

Who was she kidding, Nokia phone screen doesn't break like an android phone, the phone was still ringing, no part scattered on the floor.

"What is all this sluggishness?!" Isere's mother shouted at her making her flinch. "I just know something has been off with you, hope your hymen is till intact?!" Her mother asked.

Isere heart began to race, hope her mother won't do checking on her in her hostel. She began to thank her stars that nothing was done between Kelvin and herself. If he hadn't stopped, maybe she would be in trouble.

The last thing she'd want is to be withdrawn from this school. "When we get to my hotel room, I will do some checkings, you will not disgrace me Isere." Her mother said.

Isere mood was sour as she wanted nothing than for her mother to leave. "Kate did you..." Ejiro trailed off as she saw Isere in an uncomfortable state with her mother.

"Good afternoon ma," Ejiro greeted.

"Good afternoon," Isere mother retorted. She looked at Ejiro and was surprised to Ejiro fully clothed for the first time.

"Jesus is Lord!" She praised. "Child of God, may God bless you." She said to Ejiro making Ejiro wonder.

Isere mother thought Isere had changed Ejiro into covering her body whereas it wasn't.

"Isere, let's go and join your father," Her mother told her as she left the room.

"Later Ejiro," Isere told her walking off and following her mother.

Isere mood was sour, she couldn't pick Kelvin's call because of them and now they might make her stay in the hotel room with her.

She was so angry at her life and wished she never had parents like them. "Kate!" A masculine voice called her name getting her attention and her mother's.

It was Nathaniel, he was one of her coursemate boyfriend. She has known Nathaniel since last year and he has been nice to her.

She didn't know how to reply him in front of her mother as he always hugged her whenever he sees her first but luckily for her, Nathaniel noticed the tension as he greeted her mother.

"God bless you and who are you?" Her mother asked.

"I am her friend," he replied.

"You serve the Lord right?" She asked him. Isere began to feel embarrassed. What's was all this question for?!

"Yes ma, I am a Christian," he replied again.

"Okay." She said shocking Isere because her mother had not asked so many questions.

She got into her father's car, she knew the drama had not started yet. Her phone rang again and she wished the ground would just swallow her.

"Give me your phone?" Her mother spat out.

Isere immidately answered her call, "Sister mary, can you please call back later. I will be sure to attend the bible class this saturday night. Yes ma. God bless you ma." Isere had said all those words quickly, confusing Kelvin.

Kelvin began to worry, why was she acting strange, he thought. He was calling to ask if she'd come to his place tonight or tomorrow after her matric but since he doesn't understand her word, he might surprise her tomorrow, he thought to himself.

Isere gave her phone to her mother but her mother didn't collect it, "child of God, God will continue you bless you as you dedicated your time to him in Jesus name!" Her mother spat out, proud of Isere.

Isere began to feel bad that she had lied again to her mother using the lord.

If they were not around, she would be with Kelvin now, enjoying herself.

The matric wasn't the best for Isere but she was glad it was finally over and her parents left making it possible for her to join the after party.

Ejiro was quick to tell Kelvin to stay away because Isere's parents were around. He understood the reason she had acted strange yesterday. Isere parents didn't let Isere be as they walked around with her back to back, making her feel so uncomfortable.

Isere left with Kelvin instead of the staying for the after party because today was also Wunmi's birthday.

"There she is!" Wunmi squealed upon seeing Isere. Isere hugged her wishing her an happy birthday and promising to get her a birthday gift.

Isere mood was still sour, her parents had ruined the day for her and even yesterday. They made her read the Bible to twelve in the midnight and her mother was sure to do the hymen test on her.

She had so many going through her mind, her mother was never going to stop the hymen test and she wouldn't let anything stop her from having sex, she was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't know what was going on around her.

Kelvin leaned in and whispered to her, "What's wrong, you seemed off."

She forced a smile unto her face, "I am fine, just tired." She retorted.

She grabbed the shot of Elliot's that belonged to Kelvin's and drank it, gulping it down at once. The taste bitter and sour but she didn't mind.

Kelvin stared at her in shock, he knew she drank alcohol but the way she drank it showed she was bothered.

Ignoring her for the first time, Kelvin let her be but she didn't stop there as she kept drinking. She was about to take the sixth shot when Kelvin grabbed it from her.

"Let..me...be!" She slurred. She started to cry. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?!" He asked her wiping her tears.

She began to cry out making them worried. "What's wrong Kate?" Wunmi asked her.

She said nothing but kept crying. Kelvin decided it was best to let her sleep and talk things tomorrow. He took her to his house and placed her on the bed to sleep.

He was bothered, what could make her cry? It was since yesterday that her mood has been sour so it definitely had to do with her parents.

Eliot rum had 47% alcohol, he wouldn't drink much of that considering he liked to be conscious.

Isere woke up with her head pounding so hard, she suddenly felt her stomach grumble making her feel uncomfortable, soon nausea hit and she ran to the toilet vomiting all fowl smell of the alcohol she took last night.

She didn't remember anything other than her first shot after which everything started to get blurry.

She felt a hand at her back soothing her. She kept vomiting, her stomach was unsettled and she regretted taking alcohol.

Her mother had pushed her to the last and she was going to make sure to surprise her mother in their next meet.

After taking some medicine to help with the hangover, Isere ate and slept off again. She didn't wake up until 4pm and when she did, Kelvin's arm was wrapped around her.

She turned to look at him admiring him, how lucky she was to get someone like him. She cupped his face with her hand, then leaned in to kiss his nose. "I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too," he replied shocking her. She giggled, "I thought you were still asleep?" She whispered.

"I was, how are you feeling now?" He asked her.

"I'm fine now," she retorted staring deep into his eyes. "Wanna talk about what's bothering you?" He asked her.

"Not now please," she sighed.

"When then?" He asked her.

She sighed, "I don't even want to start with it, can we just forget it, it only bring back memories I'm trying to suppress." She told him.

Kelvin wanted to know but he didn't want to pressure her into speaking.

"Fine." That was his simple reply and it didn't sit well with Isere. "Are you angry?" She asked him.

"No," he told her.

"Then look at me," she told him and he does so. Isere leaned in and claimed his lips.

She sucked on his lips at first as they sent shivers to her spine. She was feeling so empty beneath her and wanted him to so touch her. She got on top of him taking charge as she kissed him. His hands on her butt, as he rubbed them enjoying her assault on his lips.
