Chapter 6: Sick

Annalise’s POV

When I arrived at the condo building where Ace is living, he is not there waiting. I waited for 5 minutes, but no Ace is going out of the building. I texted Ace, but he is not also answering, so I went to university.

When I arrive in the classroom, my mind kept thinking about the incident yesterday. When Ace grab my waist, and our face is close to each other. It's an awkward position, and my heart skipped a beat. I kept thinking about it when I got to my apartment room.

“Yoohoo, Anna. What are you thinking ?”

“Oh, it's you, Sel. Nothing”

“Nothing? Anna, I know you. Are you thinking about something or someone? Is that someone, Ace?”

“What? No”

“Defensive. It’s Ace, am I right?”

"You got me. Yes, it's Ace,"

“I’m right. So, did something happened yesterday?”

I told Selena what happened to Ace and me yesterday in the rain.

“What? Really? That’s so romantic. Did you feel anything?”

"My heart skips a beat,"

“You are attracted to him, Anna’

“I don’t know, Sel,"

"Ace is caring and kind,"

"I know that, but we are in a fake relationship,"

"You can confess to him,"

"I don't know. He says that he is not interested in love, and I'm not ready for that either. Besides, it's too early to confess. I don't know what I feel about him,"

"Who knows? A person feelings can change at any time,"

"I've known Ace for five days only,"

"Think about it. When it comes to liking someone, it doesn't matter whether you've known that person for a short time. It will just happen,"

I know what Selena is saying, but maybe I'm just carried away by that incident. I don't even know what my true feelings for Ace are. Ace said it not to fall for each other, and he is not interested in love. If he is, I wonder what's Ace's ideal type would be like.

It’s already lunchtime and no traces of Ace around. Maybe he’s absent. Selena, James, and I are at the cafeteria eating.

“Have you seen Ace, James?”

"Nope. I went to their classroom, but his classmates said that he is absent. Maybe he is sick or something,"

“Do you know what his unit number in his condo?”

"Yes, it is room 405. The fourth floor,"

“Ok. Thanks, James”

"No problem,"

Fast forward, and class is now over. I better go to Ace's condo unit to check what happened to him.

I said goodbye to Selena. When I was walking in the hallway, a girl stopped me.

“What is it?”

“You are Ace's girlfriend, so, please give these printouts to him,"

I grab the paper and put it in my bag and went to Ace’s condo unit. When I arrive, I ring the doorbell.

“Who is it?”

“It’s Anna”

“Wait”

Ace's voice is somehow weak. Maybe he is sick. When he opened the door, I'm shocked because he fell.

“Ace!”

I put my hand to his forehead, and it is burning hot. I accompanied him to his bed. His condo unit is big and clean.

“Have you taken medicine, Ace?”

"Not yet, and the medical kit is empty,"

"Luckily, I always bring the medicine with me. You should take it,"

I grab the medicine for fever out of my bag and pour water into a glass. After that, I gave Ace the medicine, and he drinks it.

"What are you doing here, anyway? And why do you know my unit number?"

"Your classmate hands me a printout, she said to give it to you, and I'm here to check you because you are absent. You didn’t text me that you have a fever. James said your unit number, so I went here,"

"Oh, ok. Only James knows my unit number. Sorry that I didn't text you,"

"It's ok,"

"You should go to your apartment room now. I'm afraid you will catch a fever too if you stay here,"

"I don't get fever easily, so let me take care of you,"

Prince Ace’s POV

I didn't go to university today because I have a fever. My body is weak, so I can't get up. I am also feeling dizzy. Maybe it is because of the rain yesterday. I'm soaking wet.

I'm sleeping when the doorbell rang. Who could it be? I slowly got up, and I'm feeling dizzy. I opened the door, and it is Anna. And then I fell because I felt dizzy. Anna accompanied me to my bedroom and gave me medicine. I said to go home, but she insisted.

“Do you mind if I use the kitchen?”

“No”

After a few minutes, I smelled something delicious. Anna went inside my room and carried a tray with food.

"I made porridge. It would make you feel better,"

"Thank you. You don't need to do this though,"

“You know the university today is peaceful. You can’t hear girls shouting when they see their idol. And what I'm talking about is you. So I need to do this so that you will be back to normal. What's the use of a fake girlfriend?"

"Ok, ok,"

I got up, but I feel groggy, so I asked Anna if she could feed me. When Anna is blowing the porridge, I looked at her face. I experienced this a long time ago that there’s a person who took care when I’m sick.

I observed Anna's face, and she is beautiful. I'm thankful that she came here. The porridge is delicious. I finished it in just a few minutes. After eating, Anna put a wet towel on my forehead. After doing that, she did the dishes.

“Uhm, Ace. I will take my leave now. I put the medicine at the table beside you, so drink it after 4 hours, ok?”

"Ok. Thank you for today, Anna,"

"No problem. Get well soon, Ace,"

“Ok”

Anna left my condo unit.
