Quickly, I picked myself up off the floor and charged after them at full speed. Right before they made it to the service door I made one false attempt at pulling her hand from his but was rendered useless by not making contact.

I huffed out in frustration and bellowed, “Ugh! What's the point of having these powers if I can’t do anything with them!”.

As the service door, he ushered her outside letting her step out first into the back alley. Just as the door closed behind them my heart began racing knowing that this was where it happened. Whatever he had done to her happened right at this moment and I was going to just stand there and watch it. I walked through the door and saw that he had walked her to the middle of the alleyway where the was broken. How could she not feel that something was off about this whole thing? I felt like I could throw up right at this moment.

My feet came to stop once I was at her side again. Even if I couldn’t stop this, I could still be here for her when it happened. That was the least I could do. His face began to lean into her, it looked like someone that was going in for a kiss. As the world went dark once again, I knew that she had shut her eyes.

A moment later I was able to see her once again. I watched as he threw her into the wall headfirst. We both looked toward him in response, and I knew that she could now see what I knew from the beginning. His fake persona was gone, and he was now allowing his real monster within to show itself. I could feel and see the betrayal she felt as he sauntered over to her. Her only reaction was to clench her head in pain. Fear began building inside me as I cried out, “Run, Willow! You need to run! … Please!” She could only look down at the blood-stained on her fingers.

Tears began to fall from her eyes, and I knew that she was trying to find a way to escape but knew that the odds were against her. She felt hopeless and the pain she felt seemed to pulse around her making her dizzy. He leaned over her and began to reach out to grab her by the neck. Almost instantly Willow responded by kicking with all her might, rolling out of his way, and ran at full speed to the service door. We both knew this would be her last attempt to get away from him. Her kick had not even phased him. All it did was amuse him.

He stood up straight and watched as she ran toward the door. Then once she was halfway there, he started walking toward her slowly. Why was he so calm? His face was like the calming before a storm hit. As Willow reached for the door handle, she jingled the knob and pulled back at the same time. A laugh escaped his lips as she looked back toward him, fear evident throughout her face. He motioned with his index finger for her to come to him as he warned, “Be a good girl and come here. You won’t like it if I am forced to come to you.”

Willow was frozen in place as he spoke to her. Her eyes turned toward the end of the alleyway as if debating if she could possibly outrun him.

“You could try that. But I can guarantee that you won’t make it far.” He warned.

It would not have been Willow if she didn’t at least try. I watched as she looked around the floor around her. If it were me, I would have done the exact same thing I would have searched for anything that I could use for self-defense. I found myself searching with her. Before I knew it, he was there raising Willow in the air with only one hand. How the hell did he get to her so fast? We were not looking away for that long.

A choking sound began erupting from Willow's mouth, but she kept on fighting. She continually swung with her legs and arms hitting him as hard as she could.

He began to mock her efforts, not fazed by her heavy blows as he taunted, “It's so sad that we had to end it this way. I totally thought you and I were having such a good time tonight. We were really starting to get to know each other better. Why’d you have to go and ruin it by running away? You could have been the one for me. All the hitting and kicking aside”

A chuckle escaped his lips as she forced herself to speak through the struggling gasps of air, “Please sto-”,

The last words were cut off as he dropped her to the floor. The blood from the wound from earlier began to spill in larger amounts than before. My eyes looked at him full of shock as he just stood there licking his lips and watching as she attempted to pull herself toward the end of the alleyway. Quintin began to follow her as she cried out in pain. I could feel his impatience growing. I could feel that he was anxious about something, but I just couldn't put my finger on what it was. In one movement he was stepping on her fingers to prevent her from moving anymore. Then his fingers were grasping against her neck as he lifted her toward him.

Her eyes widened unsure of what was happening or what more she could do. The feeling of defeat rang heavy in the air and I found myself unable to move an inch. If I could have cried in my spirit form, I would have been crying at this very moment. My poor Willow. His lips came down onto her neck and then the unthinkable happened. He bit her. I could feel the pain as he bit into her neck artery not once, not twice but multiple times.

The sound that escaped his lips was one that I would never forget. Like a bloodthirsty animal that was unable to control itself as he drank from her. Was he a vampire? How could that even be possible? I could see the world begin getting hazy and the blackness was closing in. Once the memory was gone, I found myself once again in front of the screens and Willow was still nowhere to be seen. Her presence was still gone, and I felt like a complete and utter mess.

I should have realized that there were more things out there than just me.  If there is someone that can astral project, and someone that’s a vampire. What more is there? Even though we can’t see them doesn’t mean they're not there. Vampires are real. A damn vampire almost killed my friend. Not that I am complaining… but why didn't he? Aren’t vampires evil? Everything we know about them was confirmed all in that one encounter and yet he left her alive? Why? I don’t have the answer to these questions right now. However, I will one day. There is not an ounce in my body that isn’t hellbent on finding out the truth about everything.

Any sane girl would have been scared if this were happening to them, but I couldn’t feel fear for myself. I was scared for Willow and scared that she would never be the same again. Quintin Dupree or Alec Dunby. Whoever the hell you are, I’m coming for you.

If she were here to protect me, what was the harm in trusting her? After all, I had trusted Mrs. Tulle my whole life if she wanted to hurt me there were plenty of opportunities when we were alone together. Another reason was the blatant fact that I had no idea how to control or really use my powers. She on the other hand claimed she could help me get stronger which will give me the purpose I have always craved. Since as long as I can remember I had always allowed Willow to be in the spotlight while I followed quietly behind her. I could become someone powerful, someone, that can protect those that try to harm those I love. The best part was it would help me get Willow back and destroy Quintin all in one swoop. As if reading my mind, she cautioned, “

“Ding. Ding. Ding. That is correct. I am Mrs. Tulle, your 7th grade English teacher, Sky, and even your camp counselor Chelsea who helped you the first time you got you…” Sky confessed.Quickly, I cut her off and ran to cover her mouth as I screamed, “Okay, I get it! The thing that I just can’t seem to understand is why?” She grasped my hand and pulled it down to my side as she answered, “My real name is Charity Millicent and my main power is body transference which is why I can be many different people without using too much energy. Each appearance used to observe you from afar to complete

I could see that she was now growing anxious as she blurted, “What are we doing out here?” He was looking down the alley and not paying attention to her. “Don’t get me wrong. I trust you it's just I’m not that experienced so I don’t really do this kind of thing. I have never even had a boyfriend before so let's just say that I have yet to have my first kiss.” She said with nothing but embarrassment in her voice. Gosh, this girl could talk a lot. I began to tune her out

It was the funniest thing I had witnessed all night and I was loving every minute of it. “Hello, Beautiful. The name’s Quintin and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with tonight?” he beamed at her as he handed her another Mai Tai that was the exact copy of what she was already drinking. As she turned to look at him, that was when I noticed the familiarity. I knew her from somewhere but where.A big smile spread across her face as she snorted, “You’

When I made it to Ellis Sanitarium, I was reminded that It was family day. I have no idea how that managed to slip my mind but here we are. A rare occurrence every month but I knew that Willow’s parents would not be coming either way. They had both called me last night on speaker before bed to ask that I go in place of them since they had to go out of town for business. If I was being honest, I knew the real reason was that they just couldn’t bear to see her like that. Since she had been hospitalized, I had not once seen them come visit her. They didn’t realize how much that affected Willow leaving her hopeful every day that one day they would make time to visit her. She doesn’t talk to me about it, but I know Willow and how close she is with her parents they tell each other abso

Saturday morning, I woke up to the sun shining in through the window. I squinted as my eyes attempted to adjust to the light as it lit up my entire bedroom. My fingers rubbed against my eyelids in another attempt to make my overwhelming sleepiness go away. The heaviness my whole body felt continued as I sat up on the edge of the bed tucking my feet into my Pink furry slippers. Taking more time than normal getting ready in the restroom I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and started getting ready for the day. It was then that I started remembering last night. I had to tell Willow what I had seen right away! Excitedly, I ran down the steps, grabbed my purse, and went to the kitchen to grab a breakfast bar from the cupboard. Once it was safely tucked in my bag, I checked the bus schedule on my phone and he
