Chapter 17

Rosemary- 

With the wind whipping my hair I drove as fast as I could. It felt with each mile my passed was becoming further behind me. I knew I couldn’t keep stealing like this. I had to make my own way and I would need money and resources. As I kept driving in the night I noticed another biker

bar and thought I’d treat myself to a brew. 

Luckily I found some spare cash in the leather bag attached to the seat. As I walk in I get a few cattle call whistles. I don’t mind. With a smile on my face I sit at the bar. Immediately I realize I didn’t need the cash as a fellow comes up and sits beside me and orders me a beer. We make idle chat as I hear two men discussing something that catches my interest.

“He’s gotten away from me twice already. Tough son of a bitch. That’s why his bounty’s so high, no one can catch him. I’ve got a lead he’s coming here tonight but who knows if he’ll show and if he does, everyone here he’s half related to. They’d put up a fight if we try to take him.” The door swings open and in walks a very muscular man with tattoos up his neck. He looked to be on steroids. The bar got quiet as the two men talking stand up with guns drawn. “You’re coming with us Levi. You cant whoop a gun.” They seemed intimidated even with their fire power. The man laughed at them. “Yeah and you can’t shoot 30 people at the same time” While they were distracted, a few men came up behind them and tackled them to the ground taking their guns. “Now that’s better. I came here for a beer and a good time” he shoots me a wink. “And I aim to have both.” The bartender slides him a beer and the gentlemen that was sitting next to me scrambled away as Levi approaches. 

“What’s a pretty little thing like you doing out this late in a bar full of scoundrels? You’re asking for it sugar tits.” 

He places his hand on my upper thigh moving it closer to my pussy. In a snap I grabbed his arm, twisted it back and hit his head on the bar with sure force he was knocked out cold. I stood facing the pool table as the men started walking towards me. 

“Shouldn’t a done that sweet cheeks. We gonna have some fun with you tonight and when Levi wakes up you gonna wish you was dead” 

I grabbed a pool stick twisting it around my knuckles waiting for the first one to step forward. 

“Kitties got claws.” They all pounced at once and I went into motion. They all lay on the ground when the two men that took the guns began to shoot at me in fear. I threw the pool table to its side and took shelter. I snapped my pool stick in two and when they ran out of bullets I threw the sticks and empaled them both in the heart. 

The bounty hunters stood in a daze. 

“I want half” I said dragging the unconscious Levi out the door. They rushed to their car and grabbed the handcuffs. 

“Miss that was incredible my name William and this here is Jessie. How would you like to become a bounty hunter?” 

After making a quick 10 grand, I realized this would suit me just fine. I was able to get a place on the outskirts of the city. I kept a low profile and continued working with the bounty hunters. I kept my body strong during the day using an old train depot as an obstacle course. I rarely ever used my wolf or my powers in fear of blowing my cover. I was able the save up a lot of money in three years. On my 21st birthday I bought a plane ticket to Italy. My plans to infiltrate the Vatican were in the works. While packing my suitcase I heard a knock on my apartment door. It was late and my heart was pounding when after a long pause it continued. I grabbed a knife, holding it behind my back I opened the door the find Lucifer. 

“What do you want?” I scowl. He lets himself in and noticed the knife behind my back. 

“City life’s brutal, huh?” I roll my eyes and continue packing. “I have to say I’m very impressed with how well you’ve done for yourself. Not a penny to your name and now moving to Italy.” Frustrated I slam my suitcase shut to face him. 

“Why have you come here Lucifer!?”

“To wish you a happy birthday of course. Twenty one suits you. I believe you’ve hit your prime.” He says with a wink. “A lot has happened since you’ve been away. You’re boyfriend is now king.” He watches my reaction closely. “War is raging between the werewolf’s and demons, even the vampires are joining the fight. The Vatican is strong Rosemary.” He says my name endearingly and gently pulls my shoulders to face him. “Don’t go, you cannot face this alone. I know what you are planning and you are up against an evil worse than you could possibly imagine.” He looks deep into my eyes pleadingly and whispers “Please don’t do this.” 

Frustration and rage boil within me.

“Who are you to come here and tell me what I can and cannot do? Have you been spying on me? I pick up a vase from the table and throw it to the ground at his feet. “Never visit me again.” I stalk towards him right in his face. “Stay away from me and stop following me!!” 

He sighs and walks towards the door. “I give you my word Rosemary, I’ll never come for you again until you ask for me” 

“That’s never going to happen Lucifer. Goodbye.”
