Chapter 32

Jesiah- 

When we pulled into my domain Rosemary was sleeping. I scooped her up and carried her inside. Though I was furious with her I couldn’t help but admire her beauty. She was everything to me and I couldn’t resist her pleas for me to take her. 

I laid her gently in my bed and removed her boots. Covering her with my silk sheets as she stirred. My wolf was growling wanting me to crawl in bed and caress her beautiful face and body. No. 

I made my way to the kitchen and poured me some stout whiskey. It’s not everyday you wage war on the devil. Bastard. Fucking my mate. I couldn’t wait to rip him to pieces. I turned on some music and sat on the couch. I knew it would be some time before the harvest moon but we needed to be ready. I wasn’t thrilled to be fighting along side the order and I hated them for what they put Rosemary through but between them and Lucifer’s evil, let’s just say they were definitely the lesser. I’d only heard about Lucifer’s demons burning down the orphanage before the meeting. He must have sent them while I was there questioning him about the attack on Rosemary that sneaky son of a bitch. I wouldn’t be surprised if he set up that attack on her himself. I drifted off to sleep on the couch when I awoke to the sound of Rosemary screaming. 

I jolted to my room to find her withering in pain. I could see her birthmark on her side burning through her dress as she tossed and screamed in agony. I ran to the kitchen grabbing all the ice I could find and filled the bath full. I tore off her clothes and carried her to the bath immersing her body in the ice cold water. In a panic I jumped in fully clothed to keep her head above water. She began to pant and I could tell the ice was bringing her relief. 

“It’s Lucifer, he’s so angry. He won’t stop until I go back to him.” She began to cry uncontrollably as she wrapped her arms around me. I tried to ignore her naked body beneath me but my wolf didn’t help matters as I could feel myself getting hard. Not now. 

I knew what I had to do to stop her affliction. “Rosemary I know how to put an end to this but you have to want it.” I looked deep into her beautiful eyes I knew so well. 

“How Jesiah? Please stop this.” She pleaded. 

I lifted her from the ice and placed her back on the bed and began unbuttoning my shirt. “I’m going to have to mark you while we mate. Once you allow me to claim you he cannot reach you through your mark.” 

As her breathing slowed and her mark cooled from the ice I looked at her gazing at my now shirtless body. She looked up at me realizing I caught her. I was still angry with her for giving herself to that animal but seeing her in torment had me putting my resentment on hold for now. I climbed directly on top of her coming face to face and asked “what’s your answer?”
