Chapter 5: Surviving in a Ruined World (2)

Liu Kai and Jin Chow left the underground dungeon to travel East.

The East of any domain is the most dangerous place you can go to. It is not a human territory anymore after the emergence of other species in their world. It was taken over by Dwarves, Goblins, or became a nest of Giant Insects.

Liu Kai and Jin Chow decided to stop after noticing a presence.

A man appeared and walks closer to them.

"Stop right there. Who are you?" Jin Chow asked while pointing the palm of his hand to the man to stop him from moving closer.

The human didn't stop and walking like he is drunk.

"Chow look at his eyes..." Liu Kai suggested.

"It has no pupil."  Liu Kai suggested.

"What the heck happened to you?" Jin Chow exclaimed.

"I'm a survivor, please help me." The man told them while getting closer.

Liu Kai focused only on observing the man while Jin Chow is doing the talking.

"How did you end up here?" Jin Chow asked.

But then the human jumps forward and tries to bite him.

Liu Kai appeared in front of Jin Chow and kicks the man. The man flew and its body is acting strangely after falling on the ground.

"Hey, did you just tried to bite me?" Jin Chow asked the man.

"I'm so hungry so please let me EAT YOU-" The man runs forward before he can finish what he's saying.

"Stop." Jin Chow shouted but the man didn't listen.

Jin Chow is holding the hair of the man to prevent it from biting him while it's trying its best to get a bite on him.

"Stop this, please." Jin Chow begs but the man is not listening and forcing his way to have a bite on Jin Chow's body.

Liu Kai is looking at his surroundings while ignoring Jin Chow.

"Chow, more people are coming." Liu Kai informed him. Jin Chow throws the human a few meters away and also look at their surroundings.

The people are coming from different sides and their numbers are continuing to grow. Before they realize it they are already surrounded by hundreds of people. Liu Kai is intensely observing what's the similarity with them.

First, they are all thin pale that it looks like their blood was sucked out. Second, no one looks like having the right mind. Third, there is something bigger than they cannot see right now. But they can slightly sense it and it's not so far away from where they are right now.

"Chow something is off with them." Liu Kai said while still looking at them.

"I don't understand this. If they are that hungry to eat a human flesh why they didn't try to do it on each other." Jin Chow complained.

"You have a point, but for now we need to find a way to escape this if we don't want to be their food." Liu Kai is thinking a solution but nothing comes up in his mind.

The people attacked Liu Kai and Jin Chow at the same time.

"What are we gonna do to them?" Jin Chow worriedly asked not wanting to hurt them.

Liu Kai grabs the hair of the human that attacked him and throws it away.

"Like that." Liu Kai responded.

Jin Chow started to copy it and throws everyone that approaches him.

"This won't end Kai we need to think about how we can escape this." Jin Chow is forcing Liu Kai to come up with an idea.

"I don't think that they are human anymore." Liu Kai answered while he continues to throw everyone that approaches him.

"So what do you suggest?" Jin Chow asked while sounding like he needs approval from someone.

Bu Liu Kai didn't answer. Jin Chow thought that Liu Kai is still thinking. He tried to think of a way as well but he's not really a thinker. He is used to accepting orders from others.

They know that they can't hold on like that and it's getting worse since the numbers are just expanding. And the people that the threw will only come back.

"We'll die if this continues." Jin Chow complained but it looks like Liu Kai didn't care at all.

"Idiot answer me!" Jin Chow demanded.

They are getting scratches and bite marks from those people as time goes by, but Liu Kai continues to defend himself and started to try to knock them unconscious but it is not working.

Jin Chow can feel Liu Kai's aura getting stronger.

"Since you've done it..."

"...INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!"

Jin Chow shouted finally after receiving the signal he is waiting for.

"Liu Kai follow me. I'll create a path." Jin Chow said.

"Bulldozing Bash!"

Jin Chow charges forward and everyone on his path gets tossed away. Liu Kai followed the pathway that Jin Chow created while tossing a few people that run towards him. Liu Kai jumps on top of a tree branch and Jin Chow did the same.

Liu Kai can feel his perception multiplied and tries to use it to locate the giant body that he felt earlier.

"Jin Chow let's move in this direction from jumping from branches to branches." Liu Kai suggested.

"But why in that direction." Jin Chow asked him pertaining to the danger there.

"I can feel that the person behind all of this is that strong presence there at the back. We need to stop him before he can have more victims." Liu Kai answered.

Jin Chow deep breathes before he nods.

They both look for the strong presence they felt.

After a while, they heard a human shouting for help and they move faster to check it. The sight that transpired in front of them is very disturbing.

They found a Giant Wasp injecting its egg into a live human who's crying for help. Just a few seconds after the human lost his consciousness and regains it back after a few seconds. The person looks like the people they met earlier.

"What is this?" Jin Chow complained while touching his abdomen trying to prevent himself from vomiting.

Lui Kai tried to think of a way to save those people but he can't come up with a solution.

"I'm sorry but we can't save them. It's too painful to be eaten alive from the inside so let's end their suffering. But before we do that let's kill that bug." Liu Kai angrily said.

"Are you kidding me?" Jin Chow complained.

"That's an A-Rated Bug. We can't defeat that on our own." Jin Chow tried to convince him but Liu Kai's eyes are already decided.

"You are right, but more people will become a victim if we let that thing live longer. That bug didn't notice us yet because it's too focused on what it's doing so now is our only chance." Liu Kai insists.

"No, we'll become a victim first if we try to fight that. And aside from that, we're being followed. We can't deal with them for now." Jin Chow argues.

"You go, I'll stay here and kill that." Liu Kai still insists.

"No, I won't let you. Please believe me, I saw a lot of people died already." Jin Chow grabs Liu Kai's forearm to prevent him from doing anything.

"I'm sorry, but you should believe me as well." Liu Kai said then he pushed Jin Chow.

Jin Chow hit his back on the tree.

"Liu Kai stop!" Jin Chow said but he can't do anything anymore.

Liu Kai jumped and charge forward to attack the Giant Wasp trying to continue to inject its egg to the humans who can't escape because other human beings that are already been injected are restraining them.

Liu Kai jumps in the air and tries to punch the Giant Wasp on its body from above but ...

...The Giant Wasp's Exoskeleton protected it from being hurt.
