LOGINI leaned against the pillar of my porch when Jolene came face to face with me since I didn’t dare to meet her in her car like she demanded within minutes of pulling up.
“Where is she? I have looked up and down the streets for that bitch.” Jolene demanded again.
“None of your concern. You two broke up and you left her on the streets.” I said with a smirk.
“It is my concern since she has it in her head that...oh fuck it.” Jolene replied.
Before I could stop Jolene from going inside, she started yelling for Sheila loudly. I hoped Sheila was smart enough to lock my bedroom door before preventing Jolene from going in and sure enough, Sheila caught sight of Jolene by a peep and quietly snuck back to the room then locked the door. I knew Sheila wasn’t going to let Jolene get to her again since she knew Jolene had a history of mentally abusing her. Jolene demanded to know where Sheila was and I had to keep telling her, she wasn’t there with her that she hasn’t seen Sheila in months though it is a lie.
Searching for an hour Jolene finally gave up and left with slamming the front door though it made me laugh that she couldn’t dare find Sheila whose upstairs still in the room. I climbed upstairs, making my way down the hall, and reached my door as I was about to knock Sheila opened it looking grateful for the fact Jolene has left.
“I wish she would leave me alone, all she has done since we broke up is demanding me to come back to her and have our planned marriage.” Sheila said about ready to cry.
“She will give up eventually, let’s get some beer and relax. I am ready to put on some good ole fashioned western movies while drinking ourselves away.” I replied smiling.
“You got it. Let’s have a night to ourselves.” Sheila responded trying to smile.
I made my way down the hallways and down the stairs to lock the front door because I was done dealing with drama plus my best friend needed me more than those in the world. Once, I have closed the curtains around the house, shutting off the lights, and grabbing beers from the refrigerator. I left my beer on the table as I went to go get cleaned up for the evening since it began getting dark earlier and a cold shower sounded good so she can enjoy her thoughts of her lovely lady Natalie. It gave her release from stress when she did end a shower quick enough but once she got out a scene she didn’t expect happened in front of her with Sheila.
“You weren’t supposed to be drinking ahead of me, damn woman.” I said with laughter.
I couldn’t make sense of what Sheila slurred but it made me laugh some more. I got dressed quickly before Sheila could attempt anything then dragged her downstairs with me though it never made sense why she always had to drink so much when I can barely handle one. I placed Sheila on the couch then grabbed my beer from the table and saw that Sheila ended up grabbing her liquor instead. I left Sheila on the couch, I wasn’t dealing with a drunk best friend because she gets handsy and it leads to more than what I want from her though I have always been attracted to her, I couldn’t do it though not with Natalie coming back.
I went upstairs locking myself in my room drinking a toast to Sarah as I missed our nights together and cried as I read the letter of her love to me. I did eventually drift off to sleep with dreams of Sarah but without warning I was making love to Natalie in my dream it literally jolted me out of my sleep I had to check if she was beside me knowing she wasn’t hurt a little but I got up anyways and decided to go settle for the horses make sure they were okay. I didn’t care that I was barefoot and in my pajamas as I made my way out to the pastures, sure enough they were happy to see me but as I turned around to get the hay for them, my smile reached my eyes as I saw Sarah looking at me. Her ghost would always come around early hours of the morning when I fed our babies. It is a bond that we held. I missed Sarah so much but I knew I had to move on from eventually and she will move on herself though she wanted to make sure I was happy before she could. All I could whisper to her is that I missed her so much and I loved her even though she couldn’t speak back it would hurt that she couldn’t speak herself. I went back to work on the horses making sure they had their runs around the pastures and let them free reign the pasture. I went back to the house after cleaning up after them then went inside to shower once more to get her out of my mind.
Making my way back downstairs from my shower with my tears still shredding me apart inside, I decided to make Sarah’s favorite breakfast with a cup of orange juice since she always appreciated my cooking when it came to making hash browns, topped with over easy eggs, and bacon, I would always make her that when we would have a little argument the night before though we made love in forgiveness. We had a special love that gave our parents the reason to stay together. We were best friends from our Middle School days and ended up married soon after Prom, we had no problem loving one another. Sarah Ellen Starr and Amber Madison Skye-Starr, I took her last name but she stuck with hers because we decided it would be best and I did anything she wanted including our wedding. When Sarah lost her battle to breast cancer, it took everything inside me not to live with guilt on saving her. I will always love Sarah but life has to move on especially these tears.
I couldn’t believe Natalie left. Journey surprisingly came into the driveway it felt like High School all over again. This didn’t feel right having Journey show up unannounced not that I have been near the phone lately with Sheila gone and now Natalie too. Journey Harper has always been full of life even when we dated back in High School until Sarah destroyed it to have me. It took me several years to get over the fact that Sarah had ruined my love life but she ended up being all I had left.“Hey Amber, it is so good to see you. Where is your new woman? Everybody in town is talki
Somehow or another the driving didn’t phase Amber making their way back as Natalie thought it would but once they arrived at their home it looked untouched but then you could see clothes on the lot and priceless items that shouldn’t be there. Natalie didn’t understand what Sarah could be doing by taking out everything that Amber has owned for years. Natalie watched as Amber stormed up to the house as Natalie followed behind her as quickly as she could.“Sarah! Get out of my house!” Amber yelled as loud as she could.
Natalie headed inside to the hotel, made her way to the front desk and made her room arrangements. It took thirty minutes to find her room then getting her bags as she settled for the night. Natalie couldn’t believe that she is left alone in her world with no kids, no man or woman, now lonely as tears flowed down her eyes. Natalie slowly drifted off to sleep on the bed that is only for her as she heard pounding on her door, it startled her completely since she wasn’t expecting anyone, and as she slowly went to look through the peephole she noticed it wasn’t a joke that Sarah Starr is still alive and pissed off.
Natalie didn’t know what to do with herself once she left Amber. It broke her heart that she still had to be caught between her dead ex wife and herself to meet Amber’s attention. Natalie pulled the car off to an empty lot and cried her eyes out, also slamming her hands against the steering wheel, she hated everything at this point and wished she could fix it all with Amber. Natalie decided to turn the car around and head back since she wasn’t far at all, punishing Amber for holding onto Sarah is a bad thing since their love is much more stronger than a ring. Sadly once she got into the driveway she saw a car that didn’t belong there and Natalie’s fears crept up into her throat. After delaying thoughts of going inside Natalie grabbed her purse then made her way in
We had finally reached our destination in the middle of the night, a desert like area but you can see the stars and much more of the horizon. I couldn’t believe how Natalie had found this place with driving to wherever they may be. I climbed out of the car the same time Natalie did as we met in front of the car then leaned against the hood.“This is my dream when being out here. I love where home is too that we can see the stars but this is amazing for the middle of nowhere for miles on end.” Natalie whispered.
That next morning, I woke up extremely early to make breakfast for both ladies and made sure to have juice, coffee, sweet tea, and water ready at the table along with toast, creamer, sugar, and grape jelly. I couldn’t contain my excitement on making Natalie and Sheila feel happy for once without being judgemental on my case. As soon as I saw Sheila though that certain look where she is disappointed made me feel the same. Sheila also had her luggage ready by the door.“Dana, will be here in a couple of hours and we are going to the new house. I don’t expect you to show up and put
