Chapter 16 Sect Leader Yin Hua

“You want me to follow you home?” I asked Liu Longting in disbelief.

Liu Longting looked at me from the corner of his eyes and turned his head to look forward. He took a few big steps forward before answering, “Yes. You’ll be going out of the prefecture to study after the new year, and I’ll be tagging along. The outside is not as convenient as home. I’ll bring you back to meet my family so that if I’m busy in the future and not by your side you can look for them for help.”

I recalled Yinggu mentioning that Liu Longting had five siblings, with him being the third oldest. With so many people at home, it should be quite lively. If I did go back with Liu Longting, it would feel like I was going to meet the in-laws.

“Are your siblings also sages?” I asked Liu Longting.

“Only three of us are. My younger brother and sister are still cultivating at home.”

Liu Longting patiently explained to me. When we approached the shore, the couple from earlier rushed to me and asked me what was the matter.

I relayed what the female corpses told me earlier to them, letting them know that they wanted to reincarnate and that I had already contacted the police to look for their families.

When the woman heard that I contacted the police, she started to suspect my authenticity as a shaman. After all, what shaman would voluntarily ask for the police while on a case?

Nevertheless, the matter was resolved and they did not pursue it any further. They asked me to stay for a meal, saying their boss was almost here and that he would definitely repay me for helping them with this matter.

I was originally a little interested in their boss since he was an official. If I managed to rope in his son, he might have some righteous energy which would help me suppress Liu Longting. However, Liu Longting turned around halfway to help me out and was now by my side. Therefore, I lost interest in the matter and declined. I said I was just doing my duty and did not need the gratitude. I then went to wait for the bus with Liu Longting and followed him back to the city.

There were a lot of people in the car and even though Liu Longting was right next to me, it was not convenient for me to talk to him. I made do by turning my head to look at the scenery outside.

The bus got on a narrow winding road, and I saw a black Audi driving past from the other direction. When the Audi was next to the bus, I noticed that the windows were open. Looking into the driver’s seat, I saw a young man wearing sunglasses. The car sped by since we were going in opposite directions, so I could not get a good look at the man, but I vividly remember a black birthmark the shape of a flower on his temples, which was very eye-catching.

This birthmark strangely incited anxiety within me. It was the kind of anxiety one felt when encountering something horrifying. Liu Longting suddenly opened his mouth and asked me what was wrong.

“Did you see what the man in the Audi just now looks like?”

“He had a birthmark on his face,” Liu Longting answered bluntly. Just as I was going to ask him what that birthmark was, the old lady in front of me turned around and looked at me with a weird expression. I did not want to be labeled as a crazy woman by the other passengers, so I put my conversation with Liu Longting on hold.

When I got home, I told Grandmother that I might be going back with Liu Longting during the near year. I thought she would not agree, but she was unexpectedly very approving of it. She said a sage inviting a shaman back to his home was a huge sign of trust, and that I should not betray the trust Liu Longting placed in me. She told me to establish good connections with his family so it would be easier to ask them for help when met with difficulties in the future.

I also believed that Liu Longting would at the very least not hurt me until I gave birth to his children. With that in mind, I was quite comfortable with the thought of following him back to his home. Furthermore, I could use this opportunity to properly understand his family’s situation. If I had a fall out with him in the future, I could take his family background into account before making a decision.

Liu Longting’s family was at Mount Changbai, so I followed him there. I thought the sages would be impossible to find, but Liu Longting brought me straight to the airport and flew right to Mount Changbai. As we were getting off the plane, he told me his younger brother and sister were there to receive us. He told me to maintain a low profile when I meet them and to not make a scene.

Was it just two small snakes? Why would that be worth making a scene over? However, when I saw the twins around seven or eight of age excitedly running toward Liu Longting’s legs, my eyes widened. These two were Liu Longting’s siblings?

They both had a pair of bright and intelligent eyes and small, cherry-shaped lips. The boy was wearing a cute traditional Chinese jacket, and the girl was wearing a gown, unafraid of the cold. Their little faces were fair and delicate, each hugging on one of Liu Longting’s legs, acting like spoilt kids. They were continuously shouting ‘Third Brother! Third Brother!’ with their sweet and innocent voices. This scene made me want to facepalm in adoration and fawn at them.

How could there be children that were so cute? Do not tell me all monsters were good looking?

Liu Longting looked very happy as well as he raised his arm to hand his luggage to me. He petted both kids on their heads and asked, “Is Second Sister at home?”

“She is, she is! When she heard that Third Brother was coming back in a few days, she went to wait at home!” the little girl told Liu Longting sweetly.

The boy took a while to notice me standing beside Liu Longting—probably because the two kids were so excited to see Liu Longting. Noticing that my gaze had been fixed at the girl and himself, he curiously gazed and me, and pulled on Liu Longting’s hand. Liu Longting crouched down, and he very casually leaned into Liu Longting and asked, “Third Brother, who’s that? She looks so ugly!”

F*ck! Some kid called me ugly right in front of me. Where did my dignity go?! I might not have the looks of a goddess, but I was still above average! Back in university, I was ranked close to the top among the females in our course!

When Liu Longting heard the boy say I was ugly, he laughed unashamedly. He carried the boy up and explained to him that my name was Bai Jing and that I was his shaman in the human realm. He brought me back this time to show them so Second Sister and Eldest Brother could be at ease.

Liu Longting phrased it as if his family was scared he would not be able to find a wife, and he was bringing one back for them to see for their peace of mind.

However, even if Liu Longting brought me home as a future wife, I did not mind. Looking at his two adorable siblings in front of me, I regretted a bit not choosing to marry him at the start. Instead, I chose to be his shaman. Putting aside the tiresome work, it was not exactly a stable career path either.

On the way back to his house, Liu Longting told me the names of his younger siblings. His brother was called Liu Longteng and his sister was Liu Jiao’er. Even though they look young, they were already 68 years into the path of cultivation. Based on age alone, I could call them grandpa and grandma.

I would not call them that, but I could not get over how much I liked this pair of kids. I constantly tried to hug the two kids throughout the journey back, causing a cacophony of laughter.

Before arriving at Liu Longting’s home, I initially thought his house would be a cave of some sort. However, after Liu Longting brought me past a few mountains, a huge ancient-looking residence appeared in front of me. Longteng and Qiao’er immediately pushed open the doors, loudly shouting, “Third Brother is back! Third Brother is back!”

As I was walking behind Liu Longting, I marveled at the big and majestic residence. I asked him if no one ever came in seeing such a big residence in the mountains.

“The only reason you can see my home is because of our relationship. If it were a normal person, this would just be some normal scenery. Even though we live in the same world, the world is separated into a few layers. We wouldn’t bother people, and people don’t see us.”

As Liu Longting was saying that, a sharp but beautiful female voice came from within the house, “Longting you’re back!”

A young lady wearing a red cheongsam sauntered out of the house with her hips swaying. She had a face of peerless beauty, and her smile was like a spring breeze. However, as she stepped out of the door with her bare feet, her gaze suddenly stopped on my face and for a brief moment, had a worried expression. She stepped backward and slightly bowed, gaze not daring to meet mine. “You must be, Sect Leader Yinhua?”
