"You went to China Luck?"

"I had it delivered. All your favorites."

"Baby, you shouldn't have."

"I need to take care of my queen. Make sure she's good."

"How many bowls of alfredo have you had?"

"My third bowl."

She laughed as they sat side by side and ate together. She savored the taste of the bourbon chicken and smiled as she noticed him watching her.

"I really do. Where are the kids?"

"Monica took them to Mrs. Randall's."

They talked back and forth as they ate and they laughed about how they where king and queen of wolves eating homemade alfredo and Chinese takeout. They stayed that way even after they were done eating and just enjoyed each others company.

Over the next couple of weeks, Crystal tried to put a few things in order after a meeting from a few lunas who were having trouble doing a few things that their alphas needed. She helped out in every way possible and hoped everything was running smoothly. Still, it bothered her that the system that had worked for her may not be working for them. She worried if she was making things worse or better. It bothered her day in and day out. Killian started to notice and grew worried. One incident was the worst out of them all.

Crystal woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. It had been a month since she and Killian were made King and Queen. She got up and looked over at Killian who was still fast asleep. She walked down to the kitchen and fixed herself a cup of tea. She sat at the counter and sipped her tea and tried to calm down. After a few minutes, she caught his scent and felt him behind her. He placed his hands on her shoulders and kissed her cheek.

"This is the fifth night in a row baby."

"I just can't sleep."

"You are too worried about messing up. You've got to calm down."

"I try, babe, I really do. I just can't seem to stop."

He lifted her onto the counter and hugged onto her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and legs around his waist. He lifted her up and carried her back to bed. He placed her on the bed and tucked her in and climbed in behind her. He held her close and kissed the back of her head and she scooted in close to him.

"Try and get some sleep. I'll call a meeting of the alphas and lunas tomorrow, okay."

"Thank you."

"It's no problem. Get some sleep."

She kissed him and relaxed against him. He felt her breathing slow and saw the slow rise and fall of her chest and knew she had fallen asleep. He smiled against her hair and drifted off to sleep.

Killian awoke first in the morning and watched Crystal sleep. After a few minutes, he got up and dressed and headed down to his office. He called the alphas and informed them of the phone meeting that needed to take place. The alphas agreed that the luna need to be put at ease.

Since becoming Luna Queen, she had implemented an easier system for the lunas to organize events and an easier way for lunas to help alphas. She organized a new way for Killian to keep in touch with alphas and pack business differently. Not only did she keep him from getting too overwhelmed, but she set up the same system for other packs and the other lunas used it for themselves as well. The problem was is that she now felt overwhelmed and he wanted to do something for her. She needed time to relax and he knew the packs would agree. She was brilliant and amazing and Killian would make sure she got the time she needed.

Crystal woke up and found Killian on the side of the bed and he had no shirt on. She smiled as she sat up and scooted over to him. He gathered her in his arms and placed her on his lap. He held her close. He kissed her temple and stood up and led her to the bathroom by the hand.

"Baby, I can't right now."

"It's not that, babe."

He opened the door and saw the tub full of water and candles surrounding it. She saw her phone with her meditation app open and she just stared at him.

"You need to relax. No work today. The lunas are arriving tomorrow to help with whatever needs to be done. Go relax and listen to your app. I've got everything today."

"Baby."

He hugged her close as the tears began to fall and kissed them away. He helped her undress, but not in a sexual manner. He helped her into the tub and kissed her and shut the lights off and he saw her relax into the steaming hot water and play the meditation, He shut the door and walked out and began his alpha and king duties while sorting out which luna and queen duties he could do and those Brandy and Jessica could do. 

Killian was asked why he pampered her so much and simply said,

"How can I be expected to run my pack, rule over wolves, and guide all of us into era if I cant even take care of my wife. She is the mother to my kids, my mate, my luna, and the love of my life. She comes first before any pack business."

They say a queen is supposed to protect the king, but how can you expect a queen to protect a king that doesn't take care of her.
