Their silence speaks more volume that night. They poured drinks back in the room, browsed through the movie selections they wanted to see. They put on the one they agreed on, not really caring what it was because their minds were wandering to places that don't exist. A place where they would go through life without each other by their sides.

She laid her head on his shoulder, stared blankly into the TV. He held her hand and played with her fingers, something he will miss terribly. He took a deep breath.

She remembered when she first saw him, his smile, his cheeky comments. His playfulness, his laughs, his annoying ways to get her attention. Those dark blue eyes, and his beautiful face. She glanced over to the tattoo on his chest, and she touched that "J". He looked down and shivered from her gentle touch.

He turned to look at her. That was when she pulled him gently and pressed her lips against his. She closed her eyes, she felt his soft wet lips responding to the kiss, and pulled back to look into his eyes. He smiled, "What was that for?" as if he didn't know.

She leaned forward again, their face almost touched. They felt each others breath. The fear of losing each other was weighing on their minds. Their lips touched once more, their tongues tangled, softly pulling and pushing. His breath was inside her mouth, even then she didn't feel close enough. She put her hands on his cheeks, kissing and kissing him, but that wasn't enough.

She touched him, he gasped in surprise, he was already responding to the kiss and they froze for a fraction of a second. He saw it in her eyes, she wanted him this time. He cupped her hand and rubbed it against him, he was solid hard. He pushed her on the bed, his fingers undid her clothes while he was kissing her.

The memory of that night came rushing back when he ran his mouth along her neck to her shoulder blade. He pulled down her straps, unhooked her bra. She felt his kisses slowly going down to her breasts. She exhaled deeply, caressed the sides of his arm. He pulled up his shirt and hovered over her. His intense gaze captured her nervousness.

"Say it ... say you want me to," he said softly.

She smiled shyly, "I'm half naked under you ... you still want me to say it?"

He moved closer, their face touched. "I want you to say it ... tell me you want me to," he didn't want any confusion this time.

She nibbled on his lip, but he was waiting for her to say the words.

"Put the words in my mouth then, what do you want me to say?" she teased him.

He had a mischievous look on his face, "Okay ... tell me you want my big hard cock ..."

She laughed before he could finish, "I'm not gonna say that!"

He was laughing too, but his eyes were dazed, he was already making love to her in his mind. "Come on, Jules, you're killing me here," he pleaded.

She cupped his face, pulled him closer, "I love the way your eyes looking at me ..." she said. "I love you," she added. "I want you to ..."

She needn't say anything else, half of his breath was inside her, she was overpowered by his kiss. He was unbuttoning both of their pants. He was taking complete control of the situation. It was a side of him that she wasn't familiar with. He wasn't Preston the cheeky friend that stole her heart away, not the rockstar she admired foolishly, he was the guy who made love to her whole heartedly. He was the first and the only one she had ever let in, and he made sure she enjoyed every minute of it.

She burst into a million pieces in his wake, ignoring the danger of how it would effect her emotional attachment towards him. He wasn't done with her, not when it was the last night he was going to spend with her. Sadness and lust filled his eyes, with a tiny bit of hope that this physical bond would somehow change her mind. He tasted every inch of her, by the end of it, he was convinced that she had ruined him for everyone else he was going to be with.

He kissed her forehead, they were panting and drenched in sweat. "Come with me to Goldstone," he couldn't help it.

She kissed his lips, "I just want to lie here with you for awhile."

She snuggled in his arm, rested her face on his shoulder. His chest was moving up and down as he steady his breathing. They embrace each other in silence, savoring the pinnacle moment of their friendship, wondering what it might have changed for the other person, not daring to ruin it by saying a word.

He woke up on an empty bed, his heart almost stopped. The breeze that came in from the terrace calmed him down. He got up and walked out without bothering to put anything on. Julie was sitting on the chair, wrapped in a white sheet.

"I thought you left," he startled her.

"I'm waiting for the sunrise, it'll be up real soon." She stood and went over to him.

He wrapped himself up in her sheet, he felt her skin warm against him. "Would you mind telling me, what we just did?" he asked.

She smiled and faced him, "We were saying goodbye."

It was the saddest thing that ever spoken between them.

He clenched his jaw, "No ... I would never say goodbye to you."

She touched his stomach, "Well, for now ... goodbye for now."

He pressed his lips on her forehead, "I love you."

She held him close, they both looked at the horizon as the sun was making it's way up. She can hear his heart beating steady, and felt his hands caressing her back. Soon he will be gone, and she will have to go back to her reality without him.

She started to giggle, "I can feel you in my tummy."

He laughed, "I just got up ... we're standing naked against each other ... don't blame me." He took off the sheet, she covered herself with her arms. "I want to see you," he took her arms away from her front. He ran his fingers through her hair, pulled some to cover her breast. He slowly slid his palm on her back, all the way to her bottom.

She trembled from the cool breeze, the smooth of his touch made the hair on her body stood up. "What are you doing?" she said almost blushing.

"I love your body ... I love looking at you like this," he wrapped his arms around her. "I love how it feels inside you ... let's do it again," he whispered in her ear.

She shrugged with a smile, she didn't oppose to it. The sheets was on the floor. "It's realy cold here, why did you drop the sheet?"

He turned her around and hugged her from behind as she tried to get the sheets off the floor. She burst out laughing, "God ... I can feel you on my butt ... Preston!"

They laughed. He was tickling her in the spots where he knew was her weakness. She wriggled but he tightened his arms around her, and nibbled on her ear. "Come on, while we're still naked, it's the practical thing to do ... what do you say?"

She was trying to control her laugh, "We shouldn't make this into a habit we can't break," she said.

"I think it's too late for that," he lifted her, brought her inside, and threw her on the bed. He stood over the bed looking at her naked body. He put both his knees on either side of her on the bed, and took his phone.

"What are you doing?" she covered her breasts.

"I'm taking pictures of you ... it's better than mental pictures," he snapped a few shots of her blushing away from his camera. He laid beside her, took a couple of wefies of them laughing down to their bare shoulders.

"Something to remember us by?" she said.

"I'll never forget this day even if I try," he put his phone back. He rolled over on top of her, "So where were we?"

She stretched her arms against his chest, he grabbed her by the wrists and pinned her arms above her head.

"It's just sex, right? One last time?" she asked.

He leaned closer to her, "It's never just sex with you." They kissed, and the rest was history.

This chapter was solely inspired by the song Hostage, by Billie Eilish.

As Julie was struggling with how she felt about Preston, I was too, and then this song made it clear what she wanted to do. I'd like to share the lyrics with you here, just for the fun of it, 'cause I really love this song.

I wanna be alone

Alone with you, does that make sense?

I wanna steal your soul

And hide you in my treasure chest

I don't know what to do

To do with your kiss on my neck

I don't know what feels right

But this feels right, so stay a sec

Yeah, you feel right, so stay a sec

And let me crawl inside your veins

I'll build a wall, give you a ball and chain

It's not like me to be so mean, you're all I wanted

Just let me hold you

Like a hostage

Gold on your fingertips

Fingertips against my cheek

Gold leaf across your lips

Kiss me until I can't speak

Gold chain beneath your shirt

The shirt that you let me wear home

Gold's fake and real love hurts

But nothing hurts when I'm alone

When you're with me and we're alone

The house was quiet, she opened the sliding door from the balcony and stepped into the kitchen. There was only Nathan."Where's everybody?"Nathan sat on the island stool, not looking his best.
