Chapter Four

“Ayaan Malhotra” Ayaan walked to the guy and introduced himself as the girls had frozen on their places.

“Who doesn’t know you bro. I am Abhimanya Singhania. Avni and Zara’s best friend” he said with a smile and winked at Zara.

Avni and Zara exchanged looks not knowing what was waiting for them in the very near future.

"You people study in same collage right?" asked Ayaan both the girls just smiled and

Abhi replied "Yeah we are from the same class and belong to the same gang right girls..??"

Completely stunned at the sudden turn of events, they just smiled faintly at the duo. What they heard next popped their eyes out of their sockets and their mouths shaped a perfect ‘O’ and Abhi chocked and spit out the water he was drinking

"So you both Abhi and Zara. You guys love each other. Am I right or I am right..?" asked Ayaan with a mischievous smirk on his face

"What? Don’t act too surprised” asked Ayaan as soon as Abhi came to normal, whereas time stopped for the girls.

"How did you know? I mean me and Abhi, who told you about us?” asked a confused Zara

"Dude, Ayaan. Couldn’t you keep your silly mouth shut for a little more time. I was having the fun of my life watching their faces” Abhi chided his friend and chuckled seeing the girls reaction. Abhimanyu talking to Ayaan in that tone rang bells for the girls. Completely oblivious to the storm about to hit them, Ayaan and Abhi hi-fied and laughed out loud.

Avni was the first one to come out of the trance. The moment she joined the dots, she saw red! Someone was going to get killed today!

"You knew about them right from the start” Avni asked in a composed tone.

"Of course I knew. Infact I knew even before he joined your college” Ayaan flaunted and hearing him Zara and Avni were confused as well as angry.

"Ayaan you are going to get us killed. Stop flaunting” he said and pointed at the girls who were ready to pounce on them and stab them with anything that was available on the table.

"Can anyone please explain what’s happening here?" an agitated Avni asked.

Now it was Ayaan’s turn to speak

"Avni you remember we attended Singhania Uncle’s party few months back” she just nodded a yes completely confused.

"And Zara unwillingly accompanied us that day” he continued and the confused souls were just waiting for him to finish everything.

“Yeah, so your dear friend is none other than the son of business tycoon Ratan Singhaina. Abhimanyu saw Zara that day and was head over heels. He thought that she was my sister, not that you are any less” he turned to her and continued after giving her a warm smile “So yeah, he came to my office the next day to know more about you. He was very straight forward and clear that he wanted to know you, spend time with you and fall in love with you. so I asked him to go ahead as this was the type of guy I would trust my sister with. He said something that day which made me agree to his stupid plan”

Ayaan ended and looked at Abhi who just gave him a smile filled with gratitude, which he shrugged off.

"What did he say?"asked Zara this time eagerly. Because impressing Ayaan Malhotra was not an easy task.

Abhi and Ayaan looked at each other

“Love just happens. It just takes a moment for someone to fall in love, and I lived that moment when I first saw her. I have decided that I am going to spend the rest of my life with her. If destiny also has the same plans, we will end up together” Abhi said looking straight into Zara’s eyes. Her eyes turned moist at his confession and a huge smile crept on her face.

She got up from her chair and jumped onto him making the bro-sis duo laugh.

“I love you” Abhi mumbled in her eyes and she tightened her grip around his neck and mumbled “I love you more you silly boy”. Abhi’s joy knew no bounds as he lifted her up and twirled her around making her squeal in happiness.

Ayaan cleared his throat to grab their attention and he was successful in doing so. Abhi put her down and they sat down, smile never leaving their faces.

"How did you get admission in our college then?" asked Avni as she was totally confused with all this. "And that too you, joined in the middle of the year for me? How was that possible? How did the management agree for all this" Zara asked equally confused. Ayaan and Abhi looked at each other and Ayaan smiled sheepishly and replied

"Nothing is impossible for Ayaan Malhotra, if the case is the happiness of his sisters. I spoke to your principal and Abhi didn't join as a student, but was just given permission to enter your class and roam around" said Ayaan and winked at them. Both the girls opened their mouths in a perfect O Avni asked

"Every damn thing was pre planned by you right?" taking the butter knife in on and fork in other hand. So did Zara both the girls switched their angry modes on now. They were pointing the knives and forks in their hands towards the people sitting in front of them.

Ayaan and Abhi gulped their saliva as they exactly knew what these girls do, when they are angry. But now they were super angry knowing that so much planning took place behind their back. Both the boys were looking at each other finding reasons to escape but seeing their bellowed girls faces they had no other choice other than facing their wrath. As there was no escape!

"I think I asked you something" said Avni, seeing their eye talks.

"Avni let me explain" started Abhi as all this was because of him and Ayaan just helped him and was not at fault

"I guess your explanation is worth listening or else you know the consequences I guess " spoke Zara with a hint of warning in he tone.

"Umm, girls, I was the one who asked Ayaan not to tell you guys anything. So whatever punishment you decide, I am ready to bear it whole heartedly. My intentions were never wrong. I wanted to come close to you and know you as a friend but not as a business associate. Plus I was scared that if the ultimate result doesn’t turn out in my favour, I didn’t want to loose a friend at least. But all’s well that ends well right. I am happy, Zara is happy, why are you fretting over past. Let that be and lets enjoy our future. Anyways I am super hungry, let me order some food first, then we’ll talk” Abhi said to lighten the atmosphere but little did he know that he added fuel to the already ignited fire.

Zara stomped Abhi's foot under the table.

"Ouch..!! Zara ...what the hell was that babe" winced Abhi

"Exactly Mr.Singhania what the hell was that! Do you even realize what me and AVni went through in this period of time. We were guilty for hiding it from Ayaan bhai. And you both! You guys just don’t care about all this. And you, Ayaan bhai, how could you agree with this stupid plan of his!” Zara said in an agitated tone.

“Yeah right! Your friend can help you, but I cant help mine. Great!” Ayaan mocked them infurirating them further.

"Your friend helped you and I helped mine. Its even now. Let’s chuck all this and celebrate on the official announcement of your relationship.." continued Ayaan

Both girls made a poker face and looked away. Having no other choice Ayaan and Abhi held their ears and said "sorryyy" together. Girls laughed at their antice but immediately hid their smiles as an evil thought came into their mind immediately.

"Fine, we accept your sorry but only on one condition" said Avni and Ayaan readily gave in and Abhi was hell worried as he was sure they are surely up to something highly mischievous so he was waiting for their conditions list.

"We all will go for shopping together tomorrow.", they said in unison and Abhi’s face turned pale. He was well aware of Zara and Avni's punishment shopping as Ayaan told him about it once.

"No way!" Abhi almost yelled. "Yes way!" came reply from them

"I am leaving to Bangalore early tomorrow morning, so you guys deal with it” Ayaan saved his ass and gave a sympathetic look to Abhi, who looked traumatic all of a sudden.

"As Abhi was responsible for everything. He will bare the punishment all alone. Bhai,  dare you pull such stunt on us again" Zara warned Ayaan trying her best not to laugh seeing Abhi's face. Ayaan sighed in relief that he somehow escaped.

"You Mr.Abhimanyu Singhania be ready by 9 AM at my place. We all will go together" declared Avni. Having no scope for argument after a glare from Zara and declaration by Avni Abhi remained silent helplessly.

Meanwhile the waiter came with the ordered food and Abhi asked to bring him fried rice as he had lost his appetite all of a sudden thinking about tomorrow. They finished off their dinner and moved to their respective houses.

Ayaan and Avni decided to go together as Zara demanded Abhi to drop her back. As soon as Ayaan and Avni reached home

"Avni, I will be leaving early tomorrow morning. I will be back in a week. I’ve asked Zara to shift here till I’m back. You will be fine right?” Ayaan asked Avni. Hearing that her brother is going to leave tomorrow morning Avni's face fell. She just simply nodded and went to her room without a word. It was their routine, whenever Ayaan had to leave Mumbai this was Avni's reaction. Ayaan was helpless he had his responsibilities which he couldn't ignore.

Packing his bag Ayaan slept after setting an alarm for the next morning.
