Chapter Ten

"I didn't mean that. I can perfectly hear you, but when I asked you. You didn't reply so I thought you couldn't…. you know.." and didn't extend further as of now I understood that she gets angry very easily. Because that’s now how I wanted our first meeting to go.

"No, it’s nothing like that, it’s just that I was.. I was.." she was stammering and started drawing circles with the straw in her glass, looking around everywhere but me.

"It’s ok, I understand. You don’t have to be nervous” I asked comforting words just to get her to speak something to me.

"What! No I am not nervous, its just that, I don’t know" she again said a one liner and got busy with her coffee making me frown.

"Okay, lets do one thing. Tell me about yourself. I mean now we are friends right and friends try to know each other better” I asked expecting her to say something at least now.

"Ummm, I’m doing my MBA, I like music" she started talking about herself. Her collage her friends her family. I didn't listen much but was just looking at her expressions which were priceless. Her eyes sometimes big sometimes small and getting no reply from me she looked at me. Holy moly! I was caught staring.

"Are you even listening?” she asked finding me lost.

"Ahaan. Of course I’m listening. You continue" I said covering up my stupidity

"I asked you something. First you answer my question Mister” she said a bit annoyed this time.

"Sorry, I didn’t get your question. Can you repeat that please?" I asked trying to act smart. Key word ‘trying’.

"So you were not listening" she caught me.

"Ahem, I actually was listening... but you know" I started stammering and she looked serious for a moment and burst out laughing. She was laughing her heart out. I was completely lost in her laugh, which seemed like the most melodious music to my ears.

"You should have seen your face" she spoke pointing her finger towards my face controlling her laugh but again laughed and composed herself after sometime.

"You look beautiful while laughing, never loose that smile” I said and again she blushed.

"You know you look cute when you blush" I said genuinely and she blushed more, looking down at her glass.

She started looking her and there and suddenly took her glass placed the straw away and gulped the coffee in one go. The foam was stuck above her lips which she didn't bother to clean after keeping the glass down.

"I think we should leave. Its getting late, Bhai and Chachi will get worried if I’m late" she said diverting the topic I previously brought up. I leaned closer to her and she was stunned. I didn’t stop and kept moving closer and closer. I could feel her breath going uneven, I was enjoying the effect I had on her. I slowly lifted my hand and cupped her cheek she closed her eyes tightly.

I caressed her cheek with my thumb and put my other hand on her other cheek. She was now completely in my control and her breathing was going wild with each passing second. I was trying my best not to laugh seeing her turn completely cherry red.

"Ran..Ran...Rannbirrr,..." She managed to speak breathing heavily.

I just hummed

"You.. You..." she was stammering very badly

"I what Mayu?? What next?" I asked and her eyes were open wide I winked at her she looked away shyly and again closed her eyes again.

I placed both of my thumbs on her lips and cleaned the milk foam stuck above her lips. She shivered at my very touch and gasped in shock.

"Done" I said cleaning it and sat back in my chair normally as if nothing happened. Myra was totally flustered.

The waiter came with a box and gave it to her

"What is this? I didn’t order them" she asked immediately as the waiter kept the box in front of her

"Your brother ordered them, and asked me to give it to you” saying this he turned to leave placing the box on the table.

She opened the box to see what was in there and there were chocolate muffins with beautiful icing on the top.

"Aww Bhai remembered that I love them" she said looking at them and immediately took her phone and dial Vihaan’s number.

"Bhai, you remember that I liked these when we visited this cafe last time?" she asked as soon as Vihaan received her call.

"How could I forget anything that you like cupcake?" came Vihaans reply

"Oh, Bhai I love you soo soo much" she exclaimed smiling ear to ear.

"Even your Bhai loves you baby doll. Okay see you at home I’m driving" he said

"Ok bye. See you at home, drive safe both of you and come home soon" she said and ended the call.

I was looking at her, the way she was talking to Vihaan reminded me of someone, but I pushed away my thoughts temporarily and asked her

"Looks like you love your brother’s very much right?”

"Yes, I love them more than anything and anyone in this world. They both are the most important people in this whole world to me. Everything comes after them. My Bhai’s are my everything. They takes care of every single and the smallest thing of mine. I just love them very very much" she said and I saw tears welling up her eyes. Oh, she is such a cute and pure soul.

"You are a really good sister. Your brothers are lucky" I replied with a smile and continued "So lets make a move?" I asked diverting the topic and she nodded cutely.

I paid and we left from there.

On the way to her house she was silently looking outside from the window. I wanted to talk to her and cherish every single moment spent with her.

"Myra" I took a pause and continued "What is so interesting that you are looking outside" I was looking at her curiously waiting her reply and she nodded her head as a yes smilingly.

"So Myra, umm, are you free tomorrow ?" 

"What? Why? I mean I have college tomorrow" she said

"Of course you have to go to college. But what about your plans after college?" I asked again.

"What would I do after collage I’m free"

"Would you come out with me tomorrow evening?” I asked desperately wanting her to say yes.

"Umm what would I tell Bhai?" 

"Simple tell him that we are going out together" I said casually

"Umm., what about Chachi ?" she asked again pouting

"Tell the same thing, what’s a big deal in that?"

"What do you mean, what’s a big deal in it? Do you know how many questions does Chachi ask me. It is very difficult to convince her" she said cutely looking at me..

"So? Tell her the truth that you are going out with me. Common Myra what’s a big deal in it. Say yes please?" I asked looking at her hopefully with puppy eyes.

"Umm. I’ll.. I’ll see.."

"So I’ll come and pick you up at 4. What say? You okay with that?" I asked her

"Okay I will be ready by then. I generally come back from college around 2. Where are we going?" again a question. God so many questions. This girl! What is she, a question bank?

"How about a movie? And then we’ll see what we can do in the remaining time? Sounds good? Or you want to do something else?" I said, and she just nodded her head agreeing with  my plan.

With that we reached her house. She opened her side of the door and got ready to step down. 

"Mayu, wait! Give me your phone number, how will I call you?" I asked as my brain worked fast at the right time and she gave me her number waved me bye and left from there. I looked at my watch and my countdown to meet her tomorrow started in my mind.

What a day it was! I sighed and drove off to my place.
