'Come watch us play.' Miracle stated, toying with her curls.

'Then you can have my Jersey so the whole school would know that you're my fan.'

'Or your girl?'

'Either ways,' He smirked.

'But I dunno if I'm your girl so I might just decline.'

'Of course you are.'

Lies.

Christina rolled her eyes and smiled.

'That's not for you to decide.'

'Then who?'

'Me,' She shrugged and took the Jersey.

'Just the Jersey.'

She strode away as Helen and Deborah passed, Kingsley walked up to them, choosing to talk to Helen instead.

'Hey, come watch us play today.'

'Coward,' Stephen mumbled under his breath before Deborah hissed and walked to him.

'Hey Stephen, can I talk to you?'

He shrugged and left his friends. At a considerable distance, he stopped.

'Thank you for the gifts yesterday. Although, you shouldn't have.'

When he simply nodded she continued.

'I didn't see you get the stuff so when the you buy all those?'

'At the restaurant, when I went to place our orders.'

'That's smooth, thanks again. I don't want you to pity me or anything.'

'I get that you're not used to people offering help but remember that you have people who you can count on.'

'So you were serious when you said we're friends?'

He nodded.

'I don't talk to much people here and I'm talking to you, so it should count as something.'

She chuckled and offered her hand.

'Friends?'

'Friends,' He accepted it.

'And since Kingsley is much of a coward to, I'll just invite you to watch us play.'

'What does Kingsley have to do with anything?' Her brows furrowed and he chuckled.

'Oh everything. Are you coming?'

'Sure. An extra cheer won't be too much.'

He grinned, something rare that she could not help but reciprocate.

'You can have my Jersey plus you're also invite to the after party.'

'I'd like that.'

That was how Kingsley talked her into watching their game. For all she knew, she barely knew any basic term in soccer just that twenty-two players chased a ball and sometimes, one team would win or not. The school's team was leading, scored two zero in the first half. However, it was the second half and Helen could not get a simple understanding of the game. She just enjoyed watching them play, noting Miracle's speed, Kingsley's ease and Stephen's skills. From all three, the later seemed the most skillful or rather, the most calculating.

Another thing, Deborah and Christina cheered often since they had knowledge about the game or at least Christina did.

'Yes, yes, that way,' Deborah gripped her shirt causing her to roll her eyes.

'Leave me alone.'

'Kill joy.'

It was some minutes to game over, with scores three two and an opponent had the ball, Helen watched Stephen take it away from him as he dribbled past other opponents, for a moment it felt as though he searched for her in the crowd because his eyes locked with hers like he wanted to show, what he could do or do for her, he was scoring for her. It was absurd, there was much distance yet a shiver of excitement ran down her spine. She saw another try to collect the ball, she shook her head and he shot it into the goal post. In a breathing second, she thought he was right behind time but the timer rang seconds after. The crowd roared in jubilation as everyone scattered into the field.

'I think he was looking at you,' Christina squealed, holding Deborah.

'That's nice.'

They joined the crowd to run to the field. Christina was the first and was enveloped by Miracle who intoxicated her with a kiss. Helen was next, she stopped before Stephen.

'Congratulations.' She awkwardly said and he nodded before she ran past him to Kingsley who trapped her in a hug. Stephen turned to them, exhaling before turning back and was enveloped in a hug from Deborah.

Helen knew what she did, she could not help it yet she did not understand why her chest twisted when Deborah hugged him instead. She was released as she made it to Miracle who hugged and pecked her.

Kingsley fist balled in anger and impotence at the sight of Deborah in his friend's arms. It did not mean anything, it should not mean anything. After all, Stephen said there was nothing between them but the pure happiness in her eyes and the fact that Stephen was also grinning gave him an unsettling feeling. Neither did it quench when she walked past him and hugged Miracle.

'Come on.' Helen dragged his hands and froze as Hilda planted a full kiss on Stephen's lips.

'Congratulations baby boo. You did so well.'

Her blood chilled at the sight. Her heart did not just twist but shattered. It was not jealousy. She shook her head.

Why would it be?

She did not know him and they were not in any relationship. Yet, he said he was interested in her. It meant that he should not be sharing a full mouth kiss with the school's bimbo. Anger was no use. She averted like the scene was the most natural of things.

'We should go Christina,' She mumbled to her friends who were standing beside her.

'It takes Deborah eternity to get dressed.'

'That's a lie!' Deborah countered as they walked off.
