She hissed, it another day yet she had not made up with her friends which meant that she would have to put up with biology class alone.

On a normal day, they would have spent it chattering and getting disapproving glares from Mr Okeke.

Who would blame them? It was one of the few classes they shared.

Their school was a school for the elites. Every set was about fifty, nothing more. In senior class three, they were fourty and shared compulsory classes like Biology, Mathematics and English. The rest were scheduled to timetables. She had furthermatics when Deborah had literature. She wondered why she had to take biology lessons when all she wanted to be was an engineer. Worst case, a mathematics lecturer. Not that she did not like them. She was fascinated by lecturers and teachers in particular; how they put up with students. She tried visualizing herself as one. Would she put up with a student as lousy as her and her friends? Would she put up with a sassy queen like Hilda or the other dumb ones? She shuddered at the thought with her respect heightening.

She focused on the problem on deck, she was left to deal with the boring class alone except it would not be that boring. The class went still as the infamous players walked in. They were known as the magnificent three or the gorgeous three depending on those refering. She was caught between being amused and irritated by the reactions from girls.

'He's gorgeous.'

'They're gorgeous.'

'Those hands.'

'Those abs.'

'Nice butt.'

Helen choked on her spittle and coughed when they made it to her. A little correction, she had forgotten that they often occupied the left extreme in most classes.

'Hey cutie.' Miracle flashed her a grin and took a seat in front of her.

'Having problems with your friends?' Kingsley chuckled, taking another seat next to his friend.

'I see you're lonely.' Came Stephen's deep quiet voice as he took the remaining seat next to her.

'I'm not lonely. I'm alone!' She snapped and lifted her head to the pair that turned back to them.

'Tell me about it.' Kingsley began.

'It's because of the picture right?'

'Damn right Miracle. Why did you post it?'

'I didn't see any reason not to. Moreover, the picture looked too good to be laying in my storage; people got to admire.'

'Nice try.' She tried not to smile.

'Girls and drama.'

'It's not a girls and drama thing.' She eyed Kingsley.

'In their opinion, I'm not supposed to hang out with you.'

'Awesome too much?'

'Awesome not worth.'

'That hurts.' He childishly placed his hands on his chest.

'This is the second time you're hurting me baby.' He tried to touch her cheek but Stephen glared at him, causing him to raise his hands.

'I'm saying that we're like two opposing teams here.'

'Like a game?' Miracle enthusiastically asked, earning a glare from her.

'Just forget.'

'Why don't you make things up?'

'I would've if they weren't bent on ignoring me at first instead of talking. Friends talk not ignore.'

'Friends can be childish and jealous sometimes.'

'Wow.' She said after a long pause.

'First time you're saying something meaningful Kingsley, seems like your head isn't filled with arrogance after all.'

'Brat.'

'Bratter.'

'That's not a thing.'

'It is now and I wouldn't have gotten into this mess if you hadn't talked me into the ride.'

'Did you enjoy it?'

'Yes of course.'

'Do you regret it?'

She turned to Miracle, thinking about his question.

'Oddly, I don't. That's why I feel so guilty.'

Stephen was about to say something for the first time since their conversation when the teacher walked in and the students rose to greet except the magnificent three.

'Good morning Mr Stephen, Mr Ndubuisi and Mr Odo.'

They managed a short salutation before he continued teaching. Helen's eyes closed as she fought to keep up with his words, he was saying something related to importance of kidney. Heck! How did that concern her? She tried to fight it but her head fell from side to side. She bent to her desk, giving up and ready for any humiliation when her textbook moved before her.

'What are you doing?' She managed a whisper.

'You're dozing and you must have a valid explanation for that.'

'The class is boring.' She managed a pout causing him to chuckle and go on.

'Since we can't go with the obvious sick reason, we'll take the risk.'

'What risk?'

'This.'

Kingsley and Miracle moved their shoulders together, properly covering her as her textbook also rested on their chair like she was reading.

'Shouldn't you be against this?'

'History has it that I'm not in the good records of this school but then again, my friend controls the records.' He shrugged and covered her with his hoodie.
