I don't want to be Luna

When Aiden arrived at Daphney's house she was sick in the hospital. 

My mom had to explain to him and his mother about the accident yesterday because Daphney's mom was a crying mess in the hospital and her father had travelled a week ago. 

"How the hell could that have happened?!"Aiden growled angrily at my mom. 

We both flinched and exchanged looks. 

Aiden was fuming but not more than his mom. 

"Aiden do you know what will happen if the pack finds out your mate is sickle?"his mom asked glaring at him. 

"She's not sickle she was attacked"I said angrily and she moved her angry gaze at me 

"And what are you?"she ordered making me sit up straighter 

"H-her best friend"I hated myself for stuttering. 

"And my daughter"my mom added adjusting uncomfortably. 

His mom gave me a long look and shred back at her son. 

They were clearly mind linking, judging from their intense gazing. 

'Mom we should leave already' I mind linked to my mom and she rolled her eyes. 

'That's a bit cowardice of you Aria, your best friend is at the risk of losing her mate and you want to run?'

'How do you even lose a mate?'

'He's an Alpha, their going to get a replacement if Daphney is indisposable' she said and I looked at her 

What? 

"If I may Alpha Aiden"my Mom said distracting them. 

"Well if your pack is having problems because of this unfortunate situation, I advice a temporary replacement"my mom added and I don't know where this is going and I don't like it. 

"A rare case yes"his own mother said and I double take. 

"Elder Marble what are you talking about?"Aiden finally spoke up 

"Well you don't have complete control over the pack after the death of your father and now that your mate is sickle"she said looking at me 

"You'll have to find a temporary replacement, thank God the remaining Elders aren't at the mansion and your mother the Luna would understand"the lady said and I double take

She isn't is mother? 

Aiden looks in annoyance at my mother and the lady that's not his mother 

"What's the plan then?"he asked 

"Well, If I may"my mother exhaled triumphantly 

What's she so happy about? 

"My daughter Ariana here knows everything about your mate, their practically sisters, so if anybody can be a replacement my daughter will ace that test"my Mom said all smiles. 

Huh? 

I'm still shook at what my mom just said when  the Alpha's eyes move to me. 

"Her?no"he said and I almost fall over. 

Why does that rejection make me feel a little horrible? 

Well there's always Mia. 

"What? Why? There's no body else"My mom said and Aiden squinted his eyes at us 

"Why are you so hung up on your daughter, did you two do something to my imprint?"he shot and I start sweating. 

Woah. 

It does seem like it, just yesterday he found out Daphney's his mate and then she gets attacked which has never happened before in this pack and now I'm her replacement? 

I'm shivering 

"Of course not alpha Aiden, we've just gotten news from our Alpha about another pack attacking us, several people around have also been attacked yesterday and today"my mom clarified. 

Aiden stops glaring and falls back on the chair. 

"She's the one who dragged my imprint away that night"

"N-no s-she dragged me"I said almost immediately 

"And you harboured her in your house"

"She's my best friend"I snapped back at him. 

"Aria please excuse us"my Mom said glaring at me 

Okay I'm done, so done with this. 

Since I'm free from that wreck train I decided to go visit Daphney.

Who's still unconscious. 

But she's breathing that's good. 

"Oh Daphney, your mate is so unbearably annoying"I sighed resting my back on the chair.

"I hope you get better"I said after a while of sighing and huffs. 

Just thinking of going to that Alpha's pack sounded so sickening. 

Wait what am I thinking? 

I can't betray Daphney and play charade mates with her mate that's horrible, what kind of best friend does that make me? 

I spent the afternoon with Daphney and then my mom mind linked me to come home immediately. 

I had to morph completely In other to make it home quickly, did they attack again? 

When I got home my mom was outside with the Alpha. 

"Ah Aria why would you come back in wolf form?"she exclaimed then asked again in mind link 

'I thought you were under attack'

Get inside and hide your ugly weird red furs'

I don't know if wolfs can roll their eyes but if they can I sure hope my mom saw. 

I put on my running jeans and a T-shirt on as soon as I changed and got into my room from the back. 

What is she thinking being outside when its not safe. 

When I came out of the house they were still outside. 

Why's he still here? 

"Okay aria walk faster and follow Alpha Aiden"My mom said as soon as she noticed me. 

Wait what?!

"I thought he refused–"Aiden walked further towards his car and got in. 

"Aria shut up and do as I say"my mom said with a tight smile on her face 

"Mom I'm sorry but I've thought it over, I don't think I want to go with Daphney's mate, that's a serious betraying act"I said. 

My mom bit down on her lips angrily 

"When will you ever wake up and see the bigger picture Aria, your best friend is on a sick bed this close to death"she raised her hand, her fingers closer to her eyes as she elaborated the close proximity of Daphney's life span 

"I have decided to help her by getting some drugs, if you don't know, that was a silver bullet embedded in wolves bane, that was a killing shit but she's alive by some miracle"she paused and looked over at Aiden's car. 

She leaned close to me 

"She'll lose her imprint and a great opportunity  at being a Luna if you don't help her, you think its betrayal?the only betrayal here is you not helping your so called friend Aria! Be useful for once in your life"she snapped grabbing my arm and squeezing it. 

I yelped 

"If you don't do this Aria I would personally kick you out and disown you, you're not going to ruin this for me"she snapped 

"What plan?"I asked weakly. 

"Maybe when you're surrounded by Alpha's your mate my be amongst them"she said letting go 

"Now Aria dearest Alpha Aiden awaits"she said with a forced smile. 

I had no choice at this point. 

I walked to his car and got in 

He drove off and if I wasn't sure of me leaving my pack to a new pack, I was more than sure now 

I'm sorry Daphney.
