Mates

I woke up

And stared at the roof for a while its a weird thing I always did every morning, it was intense in a funny way. 

My door flies open and I flinch, its my sister Inana she swooshes her rich brunette hair and then plops on my bed like a dreamy princess in love, wait what hair routine does she use on her hair I always forget to ask. 

"What are u still doing here Ari, today is a special day, the royal alphas come together for a ball and mates are found" 

"I don't need a mate"I say uninterested 

"Well certainly not in that dress or with that hair, girllll u need a fashion emergency ASAP!"

I rolled to my side backing her, she's definitely crazy 

"Mom's gonna force you and u know that"she growled a little and I turned to her finally her brown eyes where sparkling blue she's upset. 

"Ughhh its the end of school and we're having an after party"

"U mean prom"

"Whatever, please cover for me"

"HELL TO THE NO! u know how mom gets she wants a Luna in our family"she said and I got out of bed and sighed so over exaggeratedly and Inana just sat there with a 'you're cornered girl' look 

I took my bath and looked longingly at my prom cloth and it was not a dress ughh I don't do dresses, I wore it under the huge ball gown like dress my mom gave me and sat down for breakfast. 

Silence 

My mom clears her throat.

My mom clears her throat with a low growl and Inana and I flinch munching loudly at the food we where previously playing with. 

Okay I love my mom but she's not exactly world's greatest chef, she's not any chef at all. 

"That's right eat and have energy somebody might find their mates today"she says overly excited with fingers crossed. 

"It might be an Alpha u know"she added eyeing Inana and I with a smirk, I roll my eyes. 

"That's the exact same thing u said with Ruth"I murmured a little bit too loudly and I hear my mom drop her cutleries hard on her plate and I'm surprised the said plate didn't break I dare not look in her direction.

Inana and I makes eye contact, she's as afraid as I am, my dad in the other hand looks lost in thoughts to notice us, my mom drinks her wine in a way that is threatening then she looks me dead in the eyes. 

"Just because your sister Ruth didn't become an Alpha's mate doesn't mean u guys will follow suit" she said almost too forcefully and I nodded like a lizard resuming our meal. 

My mom wastes no time prepping us for the party, I'm happy she didn't glow her eyes at me its worse than her glaring.

Inana squeezed my arm as we walked into the huge hall, I've never been inside such a huge place before and neither has Inana I presume she stops herself from saying wow then she halts.

Inana is about 19 and I'm 17 well I'll be 18 soon in like three days but still we where the same height almost like twins. 

"I've never been in such a huge place before with this huge amount of people"she whispers to me 

"Yeah me neither I'm certain u will find your alpha here"I whisper back but loud enough for mom to hear and she smirks at me.

I smile back but her smile fell as soon as she saw her sister the one whose mate was an alpha while my mom was stuck with my dad an omega werewolf who was a lawyer

She sized her up a bit from her pregnant belly to her expensive dressing my mom rolled her eyes and guided us the opposite way. 

There were nice hot drinks here at least, I took my third glass and Inana eyed me suspiciously. 

"Still thinking about the prom huh?"

"After party"

"Same thing"she said and I sighed but she was right I need to see my friends. 

"If mom found out she will be real m-"

she said but stopped all of a sudden and started staring into space.

I was confused did she freeze, I wave my hands frantically in front of her face but she doesn't move, I try to hold her but my mom appears from nowhere and holds me. 

"Don't.....she's found her mate don't interrupt"she said looking at a zoned out Inana and her eyes where now glowing

Her hair was shiner mehn! My hair is just a lame brown compared to hers but now her hair is like a goddesses hair or something a tall guy with a buzz cut and blue and green eyes walked up to her, he took her hand and it was like imaginary fireworks where flying every which way.

Well there goes my last sister

I chugged my remaining glass of wine and head for the exit now that Inana has got her mate she's gonna move out and I'm all alone I better spend my last great days at my after party and then face mom later. 

I get there half exhausted half pumped half drunk, my best friends Mia and Daphney hugged me at the same time 

"We thought u wouldn't make it because of that mate ceremony"Mia said and then looked me up and down. 

"U went?"Daphney asked unable to control her shock 

"My mom m-"

"Say no more we get it"Mia said laughing its good they get how my mom can be, I smiled and ripped the huge dress with my claws off me

I picked up a paper cup and mixed a bunch of drinks its a good thing its serve yourself because I just wanna get drunk then throw up and pass out.

We party to midnight and I see a car pull over outside that's the 5th car today, concerned parents came around and hauled their drunk kids home

Mia and Daphney where my last hope of getting home, a tall figure walks out he looks fit and young so he's not a parent. 

I head to the drunk table checking out new drinks I haven't tried before, making a mental note of the ones I've already tried but I know my drunk self won't remember. 

I feel a tap and it's the figure again, I guess he got tired of asking tired drunk people questions so he thought I looked sober enough because I was standing, big mistake, I don't turn before yelling 'what'. 

"Do u know where Damien is?"his melodious deep voice made me a bit sober

"Who is asking?"I asked as I mix two more drinks again to my concoction. 

"His brother"

"Oh"I say turning to face him still looking at my cup and shaking it vigorously 

I had a crush on Damien for like forever 

"He's er somewhere I guess"I said giving him a good look over, he looked sorta like Damien but more muscular. 

He doesn't move or go he just stands there I look up and his eyes were RED glowing at me

I suddenly became sober, then I noticed Daphney beside me looking golden eyed at him 

Their mates? 

I wasn't sure what was happening then he growls and then says almost like an order.
