Chapter 4

Livius sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. Today was his birthday and so they decided to hold a little party for him in the Hidden Chamber's garden. Of course, only the butler and maids which assisted his birth were the ones who prepared the party. He still doesn't get the importance of parties though.

He plans to leave at midnight because there are less being that are roaming around. His Uncle Charles said that he will arrange a horse that he could use in his travel. His first destination will be in the Galherd Kingdom of the Wolves Territory. The wolves territory isn't that strict but nonetheless, it will not let him pass unless they identify what kind of being and where they are from so Charles prepared a fake identification for him.

But before he heads to the Wolves Territory, he has to pass through the Forbidden Territory. He's doesn't think his mate is in the Forbidden Territory because no one can enter the Forbidden Territory. But he wants to make sure. 

"Thinking about your upcoming journey, I see" a voice from behind said. He looked behind him and saw Julius.

"I'm just worried, that's all" he said.

"Don't be, you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll find some friends while you venture through the territories. Isn't that fun?" Julius said as he sat down next to Livius.

"I don't get it. Why do I even need to find friends? I'm fine alone" Livius said as he packed some clothes.

"You're so self centered. Come on, don't be like that, Liv. Having friends is great. They can teach you things that the books won't" Julius said and Livius made a face saying he isn't buying it so Julius sighed.

"You're so unsocial. Okay, okay, I won't bug you about it but atleast think about it" Julius said patting Liv's head.

Julius fondly looked at this child that he raised and came to love. Sure he was the child of his unrequited first love and the Goddess Athena but he couldn't help but love this child that depended on him. The child who was rumored to have become the Chaos God.

He was baffled when he heard this prophecy. Just what kind of prophecy was seen? Why was an innocent hybrid child targetted by that horrendous prophecy and changed his fate completely? How did this child that he raised so lovingly actually become the Chaos God that will wipe away the beings?

How did it come to that?

"Ad—Dad—Dad!" a yell from his side woke him up from his train of thoughts. He looked beside him and saw Livius looking at him with a worried face.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. I was just thinking about some things" Julius reassured.

"Are you sure?" Livius asked unsure whether to believe him or not.

"I am fine. I was just thinking if you would be able to have a safe journey" Julius said as he stood up and stretched.

"Anyway, we need to go. Its time for the party. We'll party until before midnight" Julius said with a smile and pulled Livius out of the room. 

Livius couldn't help but feel as if something was wrong but he shrugged it off. The party lasted the whole night, everyone was having fun. Livius couldn't lie and say that he didn't enjoy the time that they spent. He felt kinda guilty for leaving them and was worried that something might happen. 

Livius breathed the fresh air in as he looked above to witness the starry sky that he sees in the paintings. He has never seen the outside world before but the view was just like what he saw in his dad's paintings. 

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Charles said as he went to Livius' side. Julius and the twins already fell asleep so only Charles came to bid him goodbye. 

"Yeah, just like what I saw in the paintings" Livius answered still in awe at his surroundings.

"Will you really not change your mind?" Charles asked. He's worried that Livius won't be able to take what was waiting for him when he begins his journey.

Livius knew that Charles was also worried but he needed to go. He needed to stop the prophecy from happening and he needed to find his mate as soon as possible. 

He didn't want to suddenly go beserk and find out that he almost killed his family. He wouldn't be able to take that. So even if he's overwhelmed with these emotions, he needs to go.

Charles stared at him for awhile before sighing, "Good luck then" he said as Livius nodded and mounted his horse. 

"Come back safe and with your mate, okay, bud?" Charles said to which Livius answered with a little smile and a nod.

He galloped his horse as it ran farther away from the castle and slowly approaching the territory which beings called Forbidden Territory.

Loud thunders echoed in the Olympus and lightning strike from above indicating that the Lord of Gods, Zeus was once again angry.

A loud bang sounded from the throne room as shoutings and yells can be heard from inside.

"I have already waited for 17 years so can someone tell me as to why you haven't found the rat that is the cause of the prophecy?!" Zeus roared as the lightnings outside continued to strike down and shake the palace.

"My Lord, our soldier have looked everywhere and was sure that no child on that year was left unscathed. Furthermore, the beings have started rebelling over the order you gave before" Aphrodite, the Love Goddess said.

"Brother, that child must've been one of the chilsren that died before" Poseidon, the God of the Sea, said.

"You imbeciles! If the child was really dead then the prophecy would've been rescinded but it wasn't!" Zeus complained. He needed that child dead or else he will take over his throne. His mind was pacing over thousands and thousands of things until he found a solution.

"His mate. Go and find his mate immediately and kill him off!!" Zeus ordered as several Gods gasped at this.

"Zeus! Are you mad?!" Hades said as he stood up from his seat. He couldn't believe that his brother would actually order this kind of thing.

Mates are a sacred connection that fhe Supreme Gods have established, it was so sacred that killing off one of the mates would kill off the other one instantly.

The stories about how that happened and events that happened next were never good. The worst scenario happened 200 years ago when another prophecy once again occured but it was Ares' mate that was killed off by Zeus. Ares, who was enraged and actually was able to withstand the pain of the broken bond, started a war against Zeus and was banished to the Underworld where Hades keeps him in the most dangerous prison. The war almost wiped out the population of the beings and injured badly half of the Gods.

The other Gods have taken measures and would watch out whenever prophecies involving Zeus' throne. 

"My Lord, you can't possibly let what happened to Ares happen again. The humans will perish!" Hera said. This isn't good. 

If they actually kills that child's mate and the child actually survives, another war will break out and this time, it'll be a disaster that even the other Gods from different mythologies refuses to cooperate with them.

"Father, this is too risky. He's supposed to become the Chaos God, if he withstands this, the damage we'll take will be great!" Athena complained. No, this is not gonna happen once again.

She lost her brother and now, she'll lose her son. Sure, she hates Ares but he's still her brother. And the child, she's worried.

"There is no other way. Besides he still hasn't seen his mate so his feelings for him will not be as strong as you might think. It could catch him off guard and would not know how to handle it much less survive it" Zeus said smugly as if he just won the lottery in his plan. 

"But Sire—" Apollo tried to convince him but Zeus just shuts him down. 

"No more objection. This is an order. You will find his mate and kill him. You can ask the fates if they knew someone who has a fate that will be meeting the child" Zeus said. 

"This is ridiculous, I'm sorry brother but I will not help you. Not because I care for the other beings but because its a hassle having to clean up the souls of those who died in the war. If your plan doesn't work, I won't care" Hades said furiously and left the throne room. 

"You're judgements have been very demanding and unfitting for the Lord of the Gods, brother. Its as if you only care for the throne and not the people who are under you" Poseidon said and left as well. 

"I'm sorry, father but I will have to disobey you this once. The war with Ares left a great scar in our history and with someone threatening to take his place, I doubt we can actually win without the help of the other God's" Athena said as she also left. She will be caught dead before she actually tries to kill her son. Even if she couldn't raise him, he's still her son. 

Many God's carry the same opinion as both Hades and Poseidon. Zeus really is becoming more and more arrogant. He's thick headed and  does whatever he can to protect his throne. But unlike the two brothers of Zeus, the other God's doesn't have the guts to actually say anything so they just followed Zeus' order. 

"Ridiculous! How dare they?!" Zeus said as he banged his fist on the seat's arm.

Despite his anger, he didn't do anything. The Fates then reported that they have seen a being with the same fate as becoming the Chaos God's mate. They said that the child was in the Forbidden Territory to which Zeus order to invade.

Loud thunderstorms could be heard outside of Rayleigh's house. Oliver has a bad feeling about this so he immediately told Rayleigh to hide. Rayleigh immediately knew where to go. There was only one place in the house that he could hide which his dad made in case of emergency. 

He immediately ran towards the little storage they had on the kitchen. He used his ability to remove the wood covering it and slid inside. The hiding place was more like a path than a hiding place. It connects to the other side of the forest.

"Dad, aren't you coming?" Rayleigh asked. 

"No, they'll suspect more if no one's home and the house looks like someone is living in it instead of it abandoned" Oliver answered which Rayleigh didn't understand but he nodded. 

His dad then used his power to seal it and place the shelf back. Just in time, a knock was heard on the front door. Oliver took a deep breath and opened the door. The first thing that appeared was the God Apollo. 

Oliver's eyes widened and stuttered a response, "M-My lord, w-what is it that you need?" 

"No, I just find it odd as to how there is someone living in the Forbidden Territory" Apollo said as he looked at the inside of the house. 

Oliver just lowered his head. 

"Where's your child?" Apollo asked. 

Oliver froze when they mentioned Rayleigh. He already knew this won't end well for him. 

"I'm s-sorry, sir but I live alone" Oliver lied. 

"Don't lie to me, omega. I know you have a child. The mate of the incoming Chaos God" Apollo said as he grabbed both of Oliver's cheeks harshly. 

"I don't know what you're talking about" Oliver said more bravely. 

"You sure like acting tough huh? No matter. I'll just kill you and destroy this house until I found your child" Apollo said as Oliver's eyes widened and the next thing he knew a sword invaded his stomach and blood was oozing out. 

Oliver dropped down trembling and coughing as his eyes begun blurring while Apollo instructed the soldiers to search the place and then once again Apollo's eyes landed on him. 

"You're really beautiful too. Pity that your son was chosen to be the Chaos God's mate. No matter, you'll see him in no time" Apollo said before he swung his sword and blood splattered on the floor. 

On the hiding place, a soft sob can be heard only on the inside as Rayleigh listened to what happened. 

He then heard the shelf being moved and used his ability to block the wood more as he ran away. He can't get caught. If he did, his dad will be disappointed. But what did they mean by the Chaos God's Mate?
