Chapter two

HAPTER TWO:

Flora started having strange feelings.

She suddenly felt dizzy and her hands started vibrating. She tried sitting up to feel better as she did before but it wasn't working. 

Next, she was in a trance.

She saw herself in a kingdom like that in the old British empire, there a prince was being celebrated, with curiosity Flora walked forward and looked right, again she saw the prince sending babies to a place that seemed to be Earth. The prince turned to her direction and immediately she became a baby. 

The prince smiled to her and whispered “don’t fail me” next she saw herself in a dark room with someone she pictured to be her twin sister by named Bella. There they both agreed that she would come first, few minutes later after exiting the room, she watched her sister trying to leave. Coming out Flora saw her twin sister struggling with some weird persons and they were also coming towards her as well. Flora screamed for help and immediately she saw herself still as a baby on the bed with her twin. The scene had changed. She watched the fan roll and the lights from the light bulbs buff.

“Boom!!!” the bus stumbled upon a pothole.

Flora gained consciousness.

I looked at my watch and found the time to be passed 8AM. I looked through the poorly opened window and saw that there was a serious traffic jam by a crossroad. My phone rung and I concluded that it was either my sister or an expecting friend. 

I picked up the phone and answered the call. 

It was my sister as suspected. Bella told me that she was with little fare money and she was at the crossroads leading to a place where she would take me home waiting. 

Before then Flora had made a pop up meeting arrangement with Bella to get home after the exam but at the present Flora was on her way to write it down. 

“Bella, I’m stuck at a traffic jam so I wouldn’t be as early as planned.” said Flora through the ongoing call.

“Seriously!! How about the exam have you nailed it yet?”

“No! I told you. I’m stuck at a traffic jam just sit tight and wait for me. I’ll be there in about three hours.” replied Flora adjusting to another comfy posture.

“Three hours!!!” exclaimed Bella in not-so-total shock.

“Yeah! Bye.” said Flora terminating the phone call.

It was getting really late into the afternoon.

During the few hours remaining before the stop at the school, the students exchange numbers before they would part ways at the centre.

Emerging at the school centre for the examination, the designated students dispatched out of the bus. They all including Flora matched to the centre with high expectations.

I got myself prepared, wrote the exams which after some few hours I came out, with high hopes of success. I came out with bright faces. 

To the best of my knowledge I had totally nailed that examination. I called Bella to come pick me up. She came in a flash and we both left to the building where my aunt and I had been living in for the past 2 days. I packed my already stocked belongings said my goodbye to aunt Gladys and then traveled back home to Lagos State that very afternoon.

I got home very late at night and headed straight to bed fully drenched with tiredness.

Flora for some time had to work at a low-standard high school in Lagos state as a teacher. She planned on raising some money all by herself while she waited to get an admission into college.

On her way to work the next day she pondered on the disturbing and paranormal experience she had in the bus. 

She fell into another trance on her way to cross the road. Flora stood incredibly still as her mind was all but lost in the trance.

In the trance, the road appeared to be empty and at her front was her employer, the man who had voluntarily given the job for a pre-school teacher to a seventeen year old girl with no prior qualification coming towards her with a small ball-like object.

Flora's employer got to her and asked, "do you want to be a god?" 

Ignorantly she nodded as she replied, "YES''.

"Take this then!" he said stretching forth his hand that held a small ball-like object.

Flora collected the object. 

"Eat!" he commanded.

Taking the object in her hands, she popped it into her mouth.

“Madam, please try to be a lot more careful as you walk on the road” said a lady meeting her at the opposite side of the road. "You almost got hit."

Flora gained consciousness.

She was aback at the sight of herself there. The last thing she could recall was being at the opposite side of the road preparing to cross over. She felt so weird and suspicious that something had happened to her again. More like what she experienced at the bus. She wiped it off and continued her journey to work making plans to go say some prayers afterwards being a slightly religious person and all. 

After working hours she left immediately to church with the intent to pray for a deliverance and protection from God. With a couple of minutes spent, she turned back to head home, the six-roomed apartment that her entire family lived in.

It was just about three stone throws away from the church. A trek-able distance.

Getting there, she laid greetings to her mom and dad and then went up to get room to drop off her stuffs and have a nice shower. 

With another clothing on, she dashed out to the living room. she sat at the sitting room looking intensely at the ticking clock. She felt so tired and hungry. Still, she couldn't take her eyes off the clock. She watched as the other hands disappeared from it leaving only the minute hand that soon turned to a sword before her eyes. 

With extreme come feet Flora ran out of the house through the front door. 

She used her hands to wipe the sweat of her face thinking she had worked her butt off so bad that she had begun hallucinating. 

Flora looked at her right hand feeling a certain sudden change in the circulation of blood there. On it with the construction of her viens were written some words, words that she thought could be found in the Holy Bible.

Immediately, Flora fainted falling with a large thud.

"Doctor! She is up." 

Few minutes and the doctor had made his way to the ward.

"How are you feeling? Are you experiencing any sort of discomfort?" asked the signed doctor with a thermometer over her ear.

"I feel like I don't know what is going on. Mom, dad, what's this all about?" I asked eyes full opened.

"Don't worry Flora, you fainted but your father and I brought you to the hospital. This nice man here is a doctor." I heard mom say.

"I feel perfectly fine. Except my slightly aching head I feel okay." I said to her hearing.

It happened again didn't it? I had another dream. This time it felt more real than the others. What's going on with me? 

"Madam, your daughter is in good medical shape. It may be fatigue that made her go into a state of unconsciousness."

"Thank Goodness doctor!!!"

"She can get going today. I have given her a sedative so she would be able to have enough rest before getting discharged." said the doctor dashing me a smile.

By looks he was youthful but age didn't permit him to be much promising by appearance. I noticed that a whole lot of people flooded the room. Some friends and scanty neighbors littered the atmosphere of the ward. I wanted to wave hi but I could feel myself getting sleepy and more sleepy every second until my eyes went shut.

With the moments passing by Flora got seldom visits into the trance.

Few months later Flora got admitted into the department of economics, University of Port Harcourt. Flora celebrated with everyone buying everything she would need for her schooling, and traveled the following month. She did all the necessary clearances and begun attendance of lectures.

She was do thrilled to have finally begun her college education.
