LOGINAlex's POV.
I didn't like to intrude into people's privacy until now, last I checked the vampire detecting machine wasn't in existence until couple of minutes ago.
Valérex was the dreamland before the unbelievable occured.
Werewolves became our worst enemies and vice versa, reasons why some goddamm guy created this machines to detect the presence of any vampire an inch away from Rexo, the werewolf kingdom, then I checked again, this guy was practically burned alive like six hundred years ago...how in the world does this come about??
There's only one way to know.
Luck being on my side, she spent not much time with Aud after school. The earlier I did what I had to do, the better for me, and my future too.
After what seemed like an hour of stalking, I decided to take actions.
"Hold on I'll be there in a bit."
That was pretty much of a time, considering the slow human moves in addition to the fact she's female. She was probably doing some manicure pedi-whatever it's called. Never will I get used to this ladies crap since Mandy was definitely a maniac. I shook off the thought as I realized my slowly but surely drifting attitude towards history.
Let bygones be bygones.
This was way more that a second and I guess she hadn't even made it out of her room. I gave the door another knock, heftier than the previous and to slight surprise the door swung open immediately revealing a pretty brunette in baby blue.
"What the hell don't you under- oh."
I so loved the way her mouth shaped the last word. Her look was quite intimidating, not that I didn't know, this girl was all the way into me from day one and hell she'll be of tremendous help sooner or later-rather....sooner or sooner. "you...?"
"Yes, me." I smirked.
Yeah right, she froze like any other lady would do, won't blame her.
"Will you keep standing there gaping at me like some piece of shit or let me in?"
"Forgive my manners, come in." her smile was welcoming.
There was this slight restraint as I stepped my right foot on the door mat, urggh! Almost forgot about the damn existence of this human-vamp embargo.
"Nice place."
The home was formal, reminded me of Aunt May's. Warm and tidy despite it's size, not that it was small but comparing it to those where I come from you'll see with me it's quite small. Pretty furniture comfortably resting at perfect positions alongside portraits and other family pictures.
"Thank you. Have a seat while I get you some-"
She was interrupted by a sharp sound which is none other than the machine buried beneath her bed. How I knew that? Let's just say it's nature's gift. We both stared at the direction the sound came from and back to each other.
"Excuse me." she stuttered.
I simply nodded to her with a smile giving her the go ahead, What a normal gentleman of my caliber will do. Once in her room, I suggested minding her business-again.
I chuckled at the way her heartbeat rate suddenly changed from 70 to a thousand beats per minute.
Pathetic humans.
I crossed my legs and folded my arms across my chest preparing to experience the most wonderful audio movie ever. I clenched my teeth when the conversation began reaching its climax, no choice but to interrupt.
"Is everything OK?" I asked sarcastically from behind the doors.
"Euhmm...yeah, everything's fine in here."
Nothing was actually fine from the shaky voice.
"So where's the needle pointing at?" I heard the voice from the other end say.
It's now or never. She looked at the vampire detector, lo and behold, it was pointing to her direction where I stood tall behind her.
"Give me that."
Audrina's POV.
I shivered at the most unwelcoming hands of the incessant cold.
"Miss, may i-"
I turned down Eli's offer before he could complete his sentence, already knowing what his mouth had to offer. I just hope I don't regret doing that that later.
Jess' home was just a five minutes drive from mine and perhaps a ten minute walk.
Oh no! Hopefully I don't arrive at the funeral time.
The street was dead, cars parked on either side of the road, some covered with russet leaves and feeble branches.
Stupid Autumn.
Swoosh!!!!!!
The hairs on my body began to rise at the implacable sound which whipped my ponytail from my back to my collarbone. With chattering teeth I said, " Who's there?"
It's obvious no one will answer at the first attempt so my eyes searched for the slightest object capable of such sound to no avail.
I shoudda listened to mama.
Mama is always right and knows best.
Pfff! No! Got a friend to save.
I repeated the words over and over as I scurried to Jess'
Swoosh!!!!!
Not again.
First time I thought I was hallucinating but this time it was crystal clear I wasn't hallucinating.
"c'mon show up. I'm not petrified by you. "
If it was a movie, I'll laugh at how stupid the actor would sound, talking about not being petrified when everything about him shows the contrary.
Now, the hairs on my body almost began shedding. Then appeared this structure right behind me.
"Hello beauty." it said.
I jumped two inches into the air with a thumping heart.
"Who the bloody hell are you?" I practically yelled. I had rights to do so after what he did to me.
"Is this how welcoming you humans are?"
This man standing before me was an embodiment of a perfect being. Age range 25-29. Perfect brown hair, perfect baby blue eyes, perfect narrow nose and perfect thin lips, all in a perfect shaped square face. Dressed in a black T-shirt, a pair of fitting faded blue jeans and a pair of black converse. What's wrong with sudden breathtaking boys in Autumn? Where are they from anyway? Because earth hasn't displayed much of these kind in centuries.
"That isn't the answer I expected from you." I shot him a deadly glare.
"I'm sorry miss-" he looked so calm and carefree like nothing ever bothered him. " call me Ivo, just to prevent so much stress." he chuckled.
"Fine! I'm working against time here, so please excuse me."
He chuckled again not bulging from his position.
"You do not take anything serious do you?" I raised a brow to him.
"So this is you, the famous Audrina, Just like your mother. Very authoritative. "
Who the hell is this psychotic dumpass standing in front of me telling me funny stories of god knows what.
"You know nothing about my mother neither do you know anything about me, talk less of my behavior."
OK, now this Ivo of a guy appears to me from no where, calls me by my-
"How do you know my name?"
Another chuckle. " I know things about you know not."
Will this guy just speak directly and receive direct blows? Now I was getting perturbed. Who's this guy and what did he want from me? How much did he know about me? Oh god! What did he even mean by "FAMOUS". I get it! Perhaps Alex sent him to delay me or rather stop me from saving Jess but his plans won't work. Oh hell no!
"OK now Mr. Ivo I ain't got the worlds time, keep whatever you know about me to some other time when we meet."
I walked pass him to continue my journey when he said something which almost got my face to the ground.
"Have you ever wondered who Phil and Theresa really are to you?"
Will he just leave my family alone?
"what do you mean?"
"I do not answer maximum of two questions miss. But I'll leave you with this- your world is turning into something else. And you are just at the end of the beginning. You are the choice and no one can change it. Two races will fight over you to their own benefits be wise and make it right."
With those, he walked up to me n looked me deep in the eyes. " Go home now beauty." I found myself making a U turn to the direction of home, he disappeared just the way he appeared.
Alex's POV.
"please don't kill me."
I've always found pleasure messing around with humans. She was on her feet slowly taking back steps to the door. Little did she know-
"kill? Oh deary, I'm far from doing that."
When her back touched the door, I could see her fingers lingering around the knob. Little did she know I had d key on me. When I reached her, I could feel her throbbing vein which caused me to swallow hard.
I placed both hands on either side of her head and inched my face a little loser to her ear.
"I can't kill you." my voice was husky. "I think I found what I need during my stay here."
Her tiny body shivered beneath me as I felt my fangs slowly protruding from my gums. Within a fraction of a bit the tasty warm fluid filled my mouth.
She released a little sob but that didn't stop me. Oh no it didn't.
After getting a reasonable amount of dinner, I let go off her and watched her slide to the floor.
I wiped the little crimson liquid which had found it's way out of my mouth with my thumb, looked at it and drove it to my tongue.
Three minutes to my date's arrival, I was standing infront of my full length mirror digesting my new look. The barely noticeable makeup I had complemented the blush pink lace dress I had on. It was given to me on my sixteenth birthday by my cousin Neiyah.Love at first sight defined the dress and I, well that was before I got it out of its sophisticated rectangular box. Its length was so not me: three inches below my butt. Immediately, I tossed the pieced of material somewhere in my closet until this day. Change is the only constant thing. The doorbell brought me back to earth, my heart began to race with fingers crossed, I prayed everything goes on smoothly as I planned.I smoothen the edges of the hair which led to a perfect ponytail. Here stood a part of my heart, looking dangerously handsome in his immaculate white-rolled up sleeved shirt on a pair of black skinny jeans and black converse. His lips owned a beautiful blood red rose flower
This place has a habit of giving me goosebumps, not just the secluded house but the neighborhood too, it was simply lifeless and unhabitable. This place was definitely no way part of town— unreasonable distance from the last house this one and no house after it.How Jess came across this place, is an unanswered question. I realized I had been standing in front of the house for while, not because I was thinking on how to enter but because I was terrified to the core. I leaned my bicycle to a big tree beside Mr. Booky's home.Ok Aud, here we go.I walked up to the door and gave it a knock, another one followed when no reply came up during the first knock. I sighed, he probably wasn't home, perhaps I should go and return some other time. I pivoted to begin my journey back home but was stopped midway into the beginning of the journey by the sudden sound of a iron falling onto the floor. I stared at the tattered house to glue my eyes on the dormer
You will have to pass through me first father.” Lucy protested. Her father's eyes widened in surprise and disappointment. He raised a hand to one of the guards who had already reached for Tony's right hand to stop.Trying to keep calm the king turned to Anna,“ Why is she here Anna? Punishment awaits you for disobedience of royal order. ”“ Leave her out of this father.” Lucy interrupted. “ I acknowledge my mistake upon the land. But you left me with no choice father.”“ You are my only child Lucy and the last thing I'll ever do is hurt you despite your unforgivable mistake.” he walked to his daughter and cupped her cheek with his right hand, his thumb gently stroking her temple accompanied by a faint smile. “ I need just one thing from you daughter.”“ Anything I'll do to save the father of my unborn.”The king flinched at her words. “ I do not want you around him till it is born.”
“Who has she been seeing?” king Alfred gushed as he looked down at his wife with furrowed brows.“ N-no one your highness.” her face was plastered to the floor with both hands crossed in front of tighs.“ You have the guts to lie in my face Marla? I'll ask you one more time. Who did this to her?” he hurled. With shaky hands and teary eyes, she let go the little information she had been keeping all along concerning her daughter, though it wouldn't help the catastrophic damage.“ Tony he is called.” she lifted her head and tried reaching her husband's arm for a little strength and comfort though she already knew how he would react to it. As right as she was he simply took a step back.“ believe me your highness, I wasn't aware of anything until four weeks ago. I begged her but she wouldn't listen, I tried—”“ You didn't try hard enough woman.” his voice was so loud that it echoed through the empty corridor.

“Your Majesty, her temperature seems to increase each flying second.” Anna reported, her head focused on the marble floor with both hands formally crossed.Queen Marla frowned. Reached for the bed where her only daughter laid.“Dear lord! I hope it's just a little fever.” She Prayed.“Should your highness be informed?” Anna asked. Head still focused to nothing but the floor.Already seated Queen Marla did nothing but nod to the maid. Her eyes gently closed releasing colorless pair of tears. She reached for the towel on Lucy's head and dipped it into the already Luke warm water.“How is she? ” King Alfred stopped pacing back and forth immediately he spotted the man in an immaculate white apron over a pair of pants leaving his daughters room.Worry and fear was now written all over Queen Marla's face. The grey haired doctor appeared with a worried look on his f
