Chapter 19, fight!

The next morning Christine still had her bad feeling, but she didn’t hear from her parents, so she figured things were alright.

“What’s wrong Christine you got a look on your face that says something isn’t right. Is something wrong?” Alex seemed worried for her...she didn't look so good. 

“Yeah something isn’t right…I think one of the gods has escaped from Olympus, Alex.” Christine was worried and rightfully so it could be anyone.

“That’s not good…what are we going to do?” Alex was getting more and more worried about her. 

“I’m going to see if anyone has escaped by asking my parents. If someone did escape, I’m getting my weapons ready.” Christine grabbed her bow and arrow, sword, and pistol.

“How serious can this be, Christine?” Alex tried to stay calm for her, but he couldn't hide the worry on his face.

“No idea, Alex it could be some family sneaking to see me, Hermes to deliver a message, or someone you don’t want to escape.” Christine was worried too since it really could be anyone...

“Who would that be dare I ask?” Alex didn't want to ask but since of the worried look on her face, it wasn't going to be good news.

“Hades god of the underworld he’s the worst god out of them all,” Christine remembered her previous confrontations with him...usually ended in someone getting hurt.

“Oh, that’d be bad.” Alex was getting more and more worried as this conversation was going on...it was going to be an ugly fight.

“Yeah, that would be since he’s got control of the dead and we’d have a big ‘Thriller’ moment or the titans would run loose and not the football team.” 

“Titans I’m not sure about them?” Alex was confused since he had only heard of the football team.

“They’re in control of weather disasters and the four elements. Zeus put them in a cave and ‘bolted’ it himself with his lightning bolts.” Christine remembered this from her research for her English project. Some things came in handy.

“Oh yeah, that would be bad.” Alex didn't like where this was going, so he trusted Christine to lead this attack

“You think, Alex!?” 

“What are you going to do?” Alex was curious about what she was going to do.

“Hmm…dad said my pedants got a bit of their magic, looks at her necklace, I wonder…mom dad I need you here again I got bad news.” In an instant, they showed up in front of them! “Hey, it worked-why didn’t I think of that a long time ago!?” She had wished she had known that a long time ago...

“What’s wrong Christine you and Alex alright? What’s the bad news?” Apollo was worried for her...he didn't want her to know about Hades escaping.

“We’re fine for now…I think one of the gods from Olympus has escaped.” Christine was getting worried too but she was glad that her parents are here.

“Which one, Christine? Everyone is alright and well back home except…?” Apollo knew what he had to do...he just didn't want to tell her...

“Except what dad? You are hiding something from me?” Christine knew he was hiding something and she didn't like it when they hid things from her.

“Well Hades has been on this rampage for a while and he might have escaped from the underworld again…” Apollo didn't want to tell her but she had to know...he didn't want her to worry.

“Again, dad why can’t that god stay in one place!? Does he give pleasure into giving us trouble!?” Christine was tired of him following her and just wanted to live her semi-normal life.

“Why yes I do, and it wouldn’t be fun nice to see you again Christine…my have you grown!” Hades grinned an evil grin.

“Yeah right cut the sweet stuff what do you want this time, Hades?” Christine was tired of him sugar coating things and just wanted to get on with it.

“Ooh, nothing…at least not yet Christine.” Hades kept his evil grin and had the perfect plan...

“Then why did you escape from the underworld again…not trying to take over Zeus’ job again Hercules already defeated you…three times for that it’s getting old!” Christine knew that Hercules was a sore subject for him that's why she liked to bring him up.

“Darn kid…why does he have to be so darn strong!?” Hades always got angry when she mentioned that darn kid...his words 

“Because Zeus is his father duh Hades! Everyone knows that he inherited his father’s strength just like I inherited my dad’s archery skills. So be good for once and do what you do I will use my weapons on you, whispers, Alex, howl for the pack.”

“Right, and what will you do Christine?” whispered Alex who was genuinely curious about what she was going to do.

“You’ll see, Alex…cause at this rate he’s not cooperating.” Christine knew this wasn't going to end well if she did this by herself so she needed help from the pack.

“So yeah hmm being good doesn’t work for me.” Hades never liked to be a good course why would he cause he is the god of the underworld and a nice god would go against the image.

“Yeah, we all remember the time you sent your pet on us and not the good kind either! You made it attack my mother! What has she done to you besides been beautiful!?” Christine loved her mom and smiled at her as she said that.

“Aww, thanks, hun!” Aphrodite blushed and blew a kiss to Christine. 

“You’re welcome mom; Ah my other weapon has arrived…yeah my new boyfriend is a young werewolf. Who’s kept his temper very impressive and his pack…ooh you brought the girls with you this time, Riff.” 

“Alex said to bring everyone.” Riff did as he was told and brought the whole pack. Alex made it sound like she was in trouble.

“Smart move Alex we might need it…everyone knows my weakness, but…not a lot knows yours, Hades! You told your minions, this is what you get for ‘hanging’ around your ‘pool’.” Christine smirked as she remembered this detail

“Oh yeah, tough goddess what is it?” Hades was a little worried despite being so cocky.

“Water, Hades…one push near some water and bye-bye Hades. Told you I knew." She sticks out her tongue. 

“Touché Christine…well seems like you came well equipped…bows, arrows, gun, sword, your parents, your wolves. You can stop me cause look where we are-were at a beach! All you have to do is push me a few feet and I’m gone forever.”

“His soul is so unclean any water can ‘melt him’. Well that’s what I heard you want to do the honors Christine or shall I?” said Apollo 

“Dad don’t you think this is a little too easy—even for him?! You’re up to something…whatever it is we’re going to stop it!” said Christine 

“Ooh, I’m so scared what are you going to do shoot me? I can’t die!” yelled Hades 

“True I can’t kill you since my powers are untamed, but I do have two brothers who’d love to do it for me…oh Ares I got a little surprise for you!” said Christine happily 

“You called Christine?” Apollo and Riff were happy when Christine talked in this sneaky, scheming kinda happy way.

“Yeah, I want you and dad to take out this trash. Oh, wolves’ you guys can go crazy, have fun.” 

“Ooh with pleasure pack, snap, phase.” Said Riff, and in an instant, they were their wolf self. Alex was easy to pick out with his light brown mix with black fur and his chocolate brown eyes. He smirked at her and went charging with the rest of the pack at Hades along with Apollo and Ares. Everyone felt like little kids in a candy shop.

“Wait a minute Christine, you don’t watch fights you're in them! Get in here what’s the point of training you if you were going to be a pansy.” Ares smirked at her and knew she wanted to join in this fight.

“Good point Ares alright why not.” 

“Atta girl now let’s kick some booty!” There were robe parts everywhere! He didn't have all of his weapons so he was out of luck. 

“Oh, you think I’d be that easy…oh fluffy!” Hades whistled for the Cerberus to come and it took a while for it to show up, and that made the others nervous. 

“Fluffy? What kind of name is that!? Especially for an evil god!” Christine laughed a little at the name, but she didn't know what was to come...

“Names can be deceiving…surely you of all people would know that Christine…” Hades started to laugh at her

“True but just bring it on less talkie more flighty.” 

“Ok, you asked for it…whistles.” Hades whistled for the Cerberus 

“Oh, crap…. another three-headed dog! It took us hours to kill the other one!” Christine sighed and remembered the last time she killed one of those things.

“Yeah, so I had to get another one since you killed my other one.”

“Well fine we can take care of your pet. Just exactly like the first time.” 

“Not exactly like the last time since Antonio isn’t here…where’s your ex-fiancé, Christine?” Hades smirked as he mentioned Antonio...he knew that it'd make Christine uncomfortable to talk about him.

“Fiancé you only said you were dating!” Alex was shocked. He had no idea about this...

“Not now Alex…and to answer your question Hades, I left him because I wanted to stay here with Alex, and he was cheating on me.” Christine blushed and knew that was going to a hard conversation to have with Alex later.

“Aww how touching now can we start fighting already!” Riff was getting impatient and just wanted to let out some aggression.

“Riff does have a point let’s start fighting already!” She took the first slice out of the evil dog…blood dripping, parts flying and weapons all over the place! It was a blood-lust battle eventually Alex pushed Hades into the water. 

“Wow, that rumor was true. Water does hurt him…why didn’t we think of that a long time ago!?” Christine panting and tired from the fight...although she knew where this talk was going...

“Christine…is what he said true…Antonio wasn’t just your boyfriend…he was your fiancé?” Alex wanted to know the truth...he was hurt that she kept this from him...

“Sigh, yes he was right…but I cheated on him, he cheated on me, the relationship was going bad anyway…eventually…well you know we went our separate ways. He gets to flirt with my best friend who’s supposed to be dead and I get to stay here with you…” Christine wanted to tell him...it just wasn't the right time to tell him.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Alex still sad from the news wanted to know the whole story...

“Sigh, because since we met, I knew I wanted to be with you and not someone who my mom set up for me…” Christine had sadness in her eyes despite trying to cheer herself up...

“He looked like a nice guy to me.” 

“That’s saying Hades is a nice god! He’s a black-hearted, cruel, and evil pirate and I’m glad he’s gone!” 

“Is that so Christine…I’m back,” Antonio smirked at her...he was torn about seeing her again. On the one hand, he still cared for her, but yet he was happy with the life he's been having with Sapphire.

“What in bloody hell are you doing here!? I thought you left a long time ago!” Christine was angry and hurt to see him again

“Oh, we did, and we came back, Sapphire wanted to see you.” Antonio looked at Sapphire and she smiled at her friend yet she knew it hurt Christine...

“I don’t want to see you or anyone from the crew! To order as the first mate I order you to leave Spain and never, ever come back!” Rightfully so, Christine was hurt and betrayed...

“Ooh, you cut me down to the core if you want me gone then fight me,” Antonio smirked he knew she couldn't turn down a challenge.

“Fight you!? I’ve fought you and won so why waste my time?” Christine had fought him many times before and won so how was this going to be any different.

“What a full-powered goddess afraid? Are you chicken Christine?” Now he did it...she didn't like to be called chicken...

“NO ONE calls me chicken! I just fought a three-headed dog again and defeated Hades, again! Course I had help, but if you want a fight then bring it on, I beat you six times before wants one more time?” Christine was really angry now...you could tell from her beet-red face.

“Fine show me what you got.” Antonio thought it would be a dragged out fight like always, but little did he know...

“Ok, grabs her gun and shoots him, told you…and being a half mortal…bye-bye Antonio and good riddance he’ll do well in the underworld with Hades.” Christine surprisingly felt relieved to be rid of him...now she can move on with her life with Alex. 

“You shot him! Wow…wait I never taught you how to use a gun?” Alex was shocked that she was even carrying let alone knew how to shoot!

“No, my captains taught me and taught me well, but haven’t been able to use it until now. Guess his mortal half was stronger than his god half.” Christine felt proud that she knew how to shoot, course she didn't think she would use that skill...

“He's not a god anymore...he's full mortal now since you two split…and speaking of power Zeus would like to bring you home to start your training. He says you can bring Alex of course.” Ares looked at her sadly...not surprisingly since she did just killed her son.

“What!? I didn't know that...thanks for the message Ares…you replacing Hermes now? Alright, I’ll come home…coming Alex?” Christine just wanted to go home...tired, worn out, and felt like she was ready for bed.

“Uh-yeah that was awesome and a short fight I’ve never seen you like this! And I kind of like it.” Riff and the pack were impressed and shocked she would come in handy if she were to fully be apart of the pack.

“Eh, it was nothing Riff tell Bernardo and Anita where Alex is. We might be there for a while. I got to see yours now you get to see my home.” Christine wanted to show Alex her home since he showed her his.
