There are the moments when you feel like something beautiful is right ahead of you, maybe physically, maybe mentally, maybe emotionally or maybe even in your subconscious. Right now for me it was the latter. 

I don't know why but my lips are stretched into a blissful smile and I'm not even fully awake yet. My eyes are still closed and I'm still in that sleepy haze between wonder land and real life. Maybe it's because of the extremely soft duvet I'm hugging tightly to myself, or it's because of the sweet smell of vanilla and mint surrounding me, or even because of the comfortable heat pressed against my back. 

"I know you are awake lex, you can open your eyes now " his voice husky and low behind my ear. 

I smile even wider opening my eyes and turn so I'm facing him. "hey "

"Morning, " he grins down at me, prompting his head on his palm with his elbow resting on the pillow "why are you looking at me like that? "he asks with his brows raised. 

"Like how? " i take in his appearance carefully. From the jungle of his hair that still manages to look attractive to the fullness of his lashes and the dark golden orbs of his eyes to the perfection of his nose and the full pinkness of his lips to his -oh did i tell you how perfectly built my best friend is? Probably not, but he is. -very bare and well sculpted chest. 

Yes i will admit it, my friend is beautiful. Hot even. I won't ever tell him that though. Kyle already has an ego bigger than the side of my almost empty walk in closet, I'm not adding anymore to it. 

"Like you want to eat me "I look up at him to catch him smirking widely at me. 

I roll my eyes and look away "don't flatter yourself "

"You know... "he leans closer till his face is directly above mine "...if you're hungry, all you have to do is say so. I'll make sure you have the best meal "i suck in a breath. His eyes scream danger and it makes me feel hot "one you would never forget. " 

His serious face turns into a playful one as he winks at me and jumps out of bed. "what are your plans for today? "

I blink once, then blink again, and again, trying to clear my mind off a fuzzy haze. "uh... "

It's Saturday today which means i have to be at grand dine before Stephanie's shift is over "i don't have work till later around two. "

"Great! I'll make a quick stop at your place and get you a change over, all you have here are a bunch of frozen and moana pj's " i groan and cover my head with the duvet to hide my blush from him. Caroline got me those! No matter how many times I'll say I'm too old for that, she'll just shrug it off and start gushing about how i used to love Disney fairy tales as a kid and still do. 

Kyle chuckles loudly at my embarrassment "awe, don't be embarrassed lex, I've seen you in your Mickey Mouse panties too."

My senses immediately shoot up and i throw the covers away from my body sitting up clearly alert "what! " my eyes are wide in horror and he just leans back on the wall laughing at me as the heat spreads further up my body. Oh God! No! 

I stand up, about to make my way out of here but he stops me with his arms around me and his light chuckles against my ears. "I'm just kidding, i didn't see you on them, but i know you have them. "

That doesn't lessen the redness on my face, but it makes my senses relax at the sound of his beautiful laugh. I swear I'm going to have a word with Caroline when she gets back. 

He turns me around. a big smile on his face, "take a shower lex, i have that shampoo that you love so much. But don't finish it, that thing costs a shit ton! " he looks a bit serious when he says that last part. 

"okay "i smile genuinely at him.

"also, i have a ton of peanuts in my cabinet cause i know you are gonna need them. Jeff ate all your gummy bears last night and i didn't have time to restock them, sorry about that "

"last night? " i frown. 

"yeah, he came over, said his sister kicked him out cause she came home with her boyfriend and didn't need him interfering their private deeds "he grins shaking his head "i swear she creeps the hell outta me sometimes. "

My frown only deepens, "you where with Jeff when you came over to get me? "i feel bad. He must have been busy but yet he dropped everything else to come get me. He always does that, even when i don't ask him to, like last night, i told him i was going to be fine but still he came for me, because he knew, he always does. "I'm sorry, i didn't mean to burden... "

"whoa, whoa, slow down tiger! "he cups my face between his hands "you're not a burden lexa, you could never be a burden to me. You know that, I'll gladly do anything for you, I'm not even joking. "

I feel tears well up in my eyes. whenever Kyle did stuff like this for me it warms my heart and i begin to wonder what i did to make me deserve someone like him. 

Jeff is one of Kyle's close buds. Believe it or not, Kyle has friends other than me and Alice but despite that, he always puts me first. He sits with me at lunch, drives me to school everyday and keeps buying me lunch almost all the time, no matter how many times I tell him not to.

"you know you didn't have to come get me "i say. 

"stop talking nonsense lexa. You didn't see the way you looked when... "he caught himself mid sentence, his jaw clenching "you looked so.... Broken "his voice drops into a whisper. 

I bend my head avoiding his gaze and not wanting to talk about my break down last night. I barely have those anymore. I don't know what came over me last night ,but i don't like that it bothers Kyle, i don't like that all my problems bother him because it hurts to see him seething because of me. 

"what about Jeff? Where is he? "i ask. 

"in the guest room " he presses a feather light kiss to my temple "I'll be right back lexa, don't miss me too much " he grins and winks before walking away. 

This boy! It's funny how he can change moods in a matter of minutes, seconds even. One second he's teasing and the next he's angry and next he's all touchy and playful. 

I shake my head and will myself to stop thinking too much this early in the morning and then walk into the bathroom.
