I woke up early as I could.Am going to work today.I know there will be lots of files waiting for me on my table. The thought of that made me remember John.I wonder how am going to face him.Well I have to get to work.
I got into the bathroom, brush my teeth and took my bath.I dress up, sat at the front of my mirror and apply make up.
I got down, mum smiled when she sighed me.
" Good morning mum" I greeted pecking her cheek.
" Good morning darling, you look extremely gorgeous" she said with a smile.I laughed.
" Thank you mum"I walked over to dad." Good morning Dad" I said pecking his cheek also." Good morning princess, you are suppose to give me more than one peck because you haven't peck me for the past three days" he said smiling." Dad" i called laughing.
" It is good to see you smile and hear you laugh.. I really missed my daughter" he said with a smile." I missed you too Dad" i said hugging him." Don't you miss me?? Mum asked.I disengaged from the hug and quickly hug mum." I missed you too mum" I told her." I missed you more dear" she said with a smile.We sat down for breakfast.
" I already called Donald and told him you have agreed , they will be coming this weekend" Dad said.
I nodded my head.
" Am happy for you dear" mum said smiling. I smiled." Thanks mum"We finished eating.
I took my bag." Bye mum, bye dad" I waved at them.I got into my car and drove off.
I finally got to the company.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breathe.I breathed in and breathe out.I can do this.
I came out of the car.
I got into the company.
" Good morning ma" my secretary greeted with a smile.
" Good morning" i replied with a smile." Ma, we didn't see you for the past three days, hope all is well ma,"" she asked." Yes dear, all is well" I said." So hope everything is fine here?? I asked." Yes ma, the meeting we were supposed to have with some clients has been adjourned ma, the client will be coming tomorrow and I have prepared the necessary documents for it, they are all on your table, you need to sign it ma" she explained.
" Okay, no problem"
" Thank you ma"
I nodded my head.
I got into into my office.
I met some documents.There are so much work to do here.I sat down going through it.I heard a knock.
" Come in" I said.My secretary came in.
"Ma, Mr John dropped this letter for you" she said handling me the letter.
" Okay" I said collecting the letter.
She left.I opened it, it is a resignation letter.
John has resigned??I was not even planning on sacking him.Did he resigned because of what happened??He couldn't bear to look me in the face.A message came into my phone.
Interrupting my thoughts, it is from an unknown number." I have given my resignation letter to your secretary, I don't think I can continue working in the company, I don't think I can ever look you in the eyes.. please forgive me Kathie" it's read.
I sighed.
Deleted the number and the message.
I dropped my phone.
I continue going through the files, there are still much to go through.
I checked my time, it is actually lunch break.
I don't think I can go out for lunch besides am not hungry besides I can just place an order.I heard from knock on the door.
" Come in"My employees came in.I smiled." Good afternoon ma'am" the accountant greeted.Everyone of them smiled.
" Good afternoon everyone" i said.
" Ma, we didn't see you in the office for the past three days, the secretary said you are around so we decided to see you ma" the supervisor said." Am sorry about that okay, I just got stuck up with something and I was feeling a bit strong so I decided to take a bed rest" I said." That is good ma, but we are missed you ma" my secretary said with a smile.
" I missed you all too, thanks for your calls and messages even though I couldn't reply but am really grateful.. i appreciate you all for checking up on me" I said with a smile.
" Okay ma'am, take care of yourself"
