CHAPTER 2 | CHARLOTTE

We're now currently eating on a fast food restaurant while talking about what happened a while ago in the office.

"In all of the people who knows about the scandal, why you're the only that they are suspecting?" CD asked.

"Of course, they know that I hate Kristina so much." I answered then, ate the fries.

"Everyone hates her, to be honest." Sabby commented.

"She tried to flirt with me. But, she's not my type and I also don't want to have AIDS." Deon commented.

"I'm really glad that I know what are the people doing there. I'm also glad that I know that they are doing something illegal there, if I didn't know, they already belittle me." I commented.

"In all of the things that I don't like is that they are belittling me." I added.

"As if that's going to happen though." Denzel commented while smirking at me. I sighed when I remember something again.

"Did you already investigate everything that I'm telling you that I already remembered?" I asked them to change the topic.

"I'm always dreaming about a guy." I added at them.

"Did you remember his face?" I nodded as an answer to CD's question.

"CD, you told me that we already know each other since we were kids, right?" He nodded at me.

"Maybe, you remember a guy that is very close to me or one of our friends." I said and he took a deep sighed.

"Char, there are things that I can't tell you because you might feel stress or you might have another headache again." He stated.

"Don't force yourself for now to remember the things that you forgot so that, we can avoid some problem." I continue eating because of what he said when I felt something.

"I really feel like that; you're hiding something from me – all of you from me." I commented and stand up. I grab my bag and prepared myself to go.

"Char, where are you going?" – Sabby.

"Char, let's talk about this." – Denzel.

"Char, don't walk out on us." – Deon.

"Char, what are you doing? You're acting like a child again." I glared at CD because of his comment.

"You don't know what it feels like when you don't remember anything from your past." I stated.

"If you don't want me to know the truth then be it, I will be the one who's going to look for answers to my own questions." I walk out of the fast food restaurant.

When I went out of the mall, I ride on the jeep to go home. I paid for the ride and lean on the chair.

I look at the child in front of me and I saw him smile at me. I smiled back at him and he's so cute. I grab my phone and I saw the it's already 3 PM.

I'm dead again to my adopted parents. They're going to hurt me again because I went home late again this time.

They're going to accuse me again with something that I didn't do. I am the one who stole their money but, they are the ones who spend it on something that is very unnecessary.

I really don't want to go home now because of this.

I already told the driver to stop the jeepney and I went out of the vehicle. I start to walk to go home and when I am already near the house, I saw my parents waiting for me outside the house.

It feels like I'm going to get grab again by the hair again. When mommy sees me, she immediately went towards me and grab me by the hair.

"Our robber is already here!" She screams.

"What did I stole now? I'm not even stealing anything!" I said. They pulled to go inside the house and mommy smack me onto the wall and I felt dizzy.

"Let's get her wallet. Maybe my 500-peso bill is inside it." I heard daddy said and mommy pushed me and I lay down on the floor.

Because I feel so dizzy, I can't get up and I feel so weak. I can't even move my body.

"Her wallet is empty. She already spends it into something that's why it's not here already." Daddy said and he kick me repeatedly and I didn't fight back.

Even though they're like that, I still respect them because they are my parents. I should just run away for them not to hurt me anymore.

"You're going to stay here in the dark room! You're not allowed to go out until you already bring back our money!" Daddy pulled me to go inside a dark room and he locked the door.

Because it's too dark, I can't see anything. I closed my eyes and I already fainted.

There's a familiar guy in front of me. He gave me a bouquet of roses and I accept it happily. His smile is so beautiful.

"Happy anniversary, master." He said with a smile. I kissed him on his cheeks and we begin to eat our meal.

So, that guy is my boyfriend... Where is he right now? Why he's not here right now? Did he think that I'm already dead that's why he's not here?

Slowly, the images are our fading away until, everything went black.

SABRINA

We've been arguing about what happened since a while ago. Why don't we just tell her the truth? Sometimes, I’m really annoyed with CD’s decisions.

“This is so frustrating. Why don’t we just tell her the truth? Why are you always saying that she’s going to feel stress without even trying it yet?” I complained.

“Sabby’s right. It’s better to tell her the truth before your sister got angry at you.” Denzel commented.

“And also remember, those people are always hurting Char. It’s your choice. Maybe she’s going to think that you’re a useless brother because you let them hurt her.” Deon said.

“He’s really a useless brother and we can’t do anything about that. Because if he’s not, he should’ve already took Char somewhere safe.” I commented.

“If big brother Craide learn about this, you’re a dead meat, CD.” I added then Deon and Denzel nodded in agreement.

“Okay, fine. It’s my fault already. All of this is my fault!” CD stand up angrily and walk away. We all stared at each other.

“If Char started to feel neglected by her family, there’s no one else to be blame but themselves.” I added and drink my soda.

I already ride on my car and drive it. I’m going to the Walker Residence to talk to Char. This is really annoying.

I just wish that she’s not going to be mad at us nor she’s not going to avoid us – most especially dad. Or else, we’re going to have a big problem if that happens. I grabbed my phone when I heard it rang.

“Cial, where are you?” Dad asks me and I increase the volume of my speaker to hear him.

“I’m going to Char’s place. I’m going to tell her the truth.” I answered him. She really needs to know the truth now.

“No. Bring her here and both of us will tell her the truth.” He stated.

“Okay, got that. I’ll take her there at the house. I’m going to get her now.” I answered then hung up. I just wish that big brother is also there.

After mommy and Char had ‘died’ he never went home at the house anymore and I didn’t know what he’s doing now.

~ WALKER RESIDENCE ~

I already arrived at the Walker Residence and I got out of the car. I walk towards the door and knock. And a lady opens the door.

“Hello, ma’am. Can I talk to Charlotte?” I asked her with a smile.

“No, she’s not available today so, you can go now.” After saying that, she closed the door immediately.

I sighed and walk away. I look at the direction of the window when I noticed something is strange there.

I walk towards it and peek inside the room. The room is really dark and I look around it and I didn’t see anyone inside so, I open the window slowly to investigate it more.

When I opened the window, I saw my sister lying unconscious on the floor. I went inside the room and slowly walk towards her then, carry her.

I went out of the window with her and took her away from that place. I put her inside my car and I begin to drive the car to go home.
