I pace up and down in my room , thinking about what Toni just said few hours ago before she left the house for the party.

She's dating Nate ? And they're probably going to do IT Tonight?? No, no way! I can't let that happen. 

The sound of my phone ringing brings me out of my thoughts. I grab it from my reading table and see Rachel's name.

" Hello?"

" Hey umm dude?"

" What?"

" I really need a favor from you."

" Yeah?"

"So.... I'm at the party and I'm having a hard time."

" Why are you using that Tone?" I say, noticing that she's using her " you're my last hope" tone on me. I really hate it when she does that! I always can't bring myself to refuse her.

" I don't have time to talk about my tone okay Tori? I just need you to be here for me. Please"

" Why don't you just go home if you're having a bad time?"

" Seriously Tori?" She says unable to hide her anger. That's when I realize what she means - she's on her period and probably just noticed! 

" Oh my gosh, Rachel I'm sorry, you must feel really bad right now"

" you think? Look, I need a change of clothes and tampons and please steal your sister's make up kit!"

" Why?"

" Just do it Tori okay?" 

" Fine. I'll be there" I say and hang up. 

This is probably the perfect time for me to keep an eye on Toni. She's my older sister but she acts like a kid sometimes, I need to make sure she isn't being deceived by Nate that they're dating.

The jerk does that all the time, before summer he told Penny that she was his one and only girl but he was always making out with April, her best friend. When Penny confronted him about it, he told her it was ' nothing serious' and she just believed! She was so gullible and so is every other girl that dates Nate.

I can't let Toni get into that mess, I'm gonna go to the party. 

I put on my clothes and put everything Rachel asked for in my bag and then I ask Mr Joe to drop me at Jake's house. 

When I get there, the music from his house is almost deafening, it makes me wonder how I was able to hear Rachel when she called. As I enter and try to find my way through the crowd of teenagers dancing to a really upbeat song, I head straight for the lobby where Rachel said she'd be waiting for me but I don't see her, then I go out through the backdoor.

" Hey " I say when I see her sitting delicately on a chair, under a tree.

" Thank God ! I need to clean up and change" she says and then her eye widens as she realizes something.

" What?"

"Please tell me you brought one of your sister's clothes - preferably Toni's" she says, cringing as she awaits my reply. 

" Of course I did. I know you wouldn't want my clothes." I say , rolling my eyes and she heaves a sigh of relief. 

" Let's go" she's says as she walks back into the house and starts going back upstairs.

" Where are you gonna change?"

" In one of the empty rooms upstairs, probably Jake's parents sleep there whenever they are in town"

" Wouldn't he be pissed ?" I ask as we stand outside the room.

"Actually, He was the one who told me I was stained. It was really sweet how he tried not to let other people know." She says dreamily.

" Anyway, he said I could use this room! Get in" she says opening the door and I get in. The bed looks really neat and has beautiful floral designs , it just doesn't look like people actually stay in it. 

" Gimme what you brought" 

" Here" I say as I hand her Toni's red dress and a tampon.

" Thanks"

Before she enters the bathroom she looks at me and says : "Tori, you're the best best friend ever! This dress is sexy!"

As I wait for her to have her bath, I suddenly remember that I wanted to keep an eye on Toni. I wonder why I didn't see her, I totally expected to see her dancing like crazy with that fool - Nate. I don't know how Toni didn't get grossed out when he asked her out, if it were me, I'd tell him off in seconds! 

After a few minutes, Rachel comes out. The dress doesn't exactly fit her the way it fits Toni but she still looks gorgeous.

" I like the dark eye shadow" 

" Thanks, let's go to the party" 

" That's not part of the plan, I'm just here to save the day. Now that I've done that, I'm gonna go home now thanks."

" Tori-"

" Please, not you too. I don't wanna hear some speech about me trying to be more involved or whatever- just leave me be, okay?"

" Alright" she says and then we leave. When we get to the living room where people are now engaging in disgusting making out sessions, Rachel goes to meet Jake and his friends, while I just stand there and watch in horror as I see Nate literally eating Toni's face! Is that his definition of kissing? Ewww! 

" Hey Tori" Nate says as I'm about to leave.

" What?"

" You didn't say 'hi' . Where are your manners " he says  with a smirk as he grabs  Toni's hips.

"Why is she even seated on his thighs? Why is she even here?" I say to myself.

" Manners are overrated" I say as I fold my arms and glare at him.

" Too bad, Toni and I are having a good time, care to join"

" Yeah right" Toni scoffs.

" As you can see, I was on my way out of this garbage session you call a party"

By now a few boys and girls are already starting to pay attention to my conversation with Nate. 

" Tori" I hear Rachel say from behind me.

" I'm sorry Nate , I need to talk to her". 

" Whatever, I got bored the minute she started talking" he says and they all laugh! 

" Umm Tori?"

" What?"

" Did you see my necklace"

" No I didn't"

" It's my mom's necklace I'm looking for "

" Oh..." I say realizing the importance. 

" Let's go find it then. Better that than stay here and watch this nonsense right now"

" Thanks" she says as she touches her bare neck where the necklace should've been.

When we get to Jake's parents room, Rachel and I search frantically for it but no luck. She sits down on the bed and covers her face with her hands.

" Calm down Rachel"

" How can I , I just lost a very important gift  my late mom gave me and I'm supposed to be calm? I don't even know why I came to this party! Now it's gone" 

" I'll find it, just chill. Give me five minutes."

" Okay, thanks" she says before I go. 

Downstairs, I see Toni searching the fridge in the kitchen frantically.

" What are you doing?"

" Trying to get my boyfriend and I a drink... Only, I don't see the one he wants. I've seen mine though."

" Then tell him you didn't see the drink , clearly it's not there or do you want me to lift the fridge so you can check under?" I say, unable to hide my irritation.

" Just shut up okay? Besides where's your friend? Why the hell is she putting on MY dress ?"

" It's complicated, I'm sorry about that"

" Of course you are! Anyway I need to go"

" Wait - did you see Rachel's necklace?"

" That ugly thing she wears on her neck ever day?"

" It's her mom's Toni, try to be a little less insensitive."

" Oh.... I didn't know. Sorry"

" It's fine"

" It's on the floor in the other room over there." She says , pointing at the room.

" Thanks, let's go"

" No no no! I'll go get it, you stay here." She says, standing in front of me so I won't pass.

" Why?"

" You might just turn Nate off"

" Whatever" I scoff as I walk behind her and wait beside the door,so she can enter without me being seen . When she opens the door, she just stands there and stares at something in shock. 

" No way..." She says in a low disbelieving tone. 

" What is it?" I ask and right there on the bed, Nate and Hailey are kissing passionately. They stop when they notice they've been busted, Nate just smirks while Hailey quickly grabs her purse and leaves the room - clearly embarrassed.

" There's your boyfriend" I say to a teary eyed Toni.
