CHPT 3: PT 2 - Broken Inside

"She's mine.", he cackled.
"Ten minutes?" "That isn't enough time to search all over town." "We'll never make it on time!", Sage's parents both said at the same time.
"We have to!" "Sage is counting on us to save her!", Kai pleaded. "I can't risk losing her."
"I'll look for Sage, keep an eye out in case something else strange happens."
Sage's parents nodded their heads in hesitant agreement and they went inside their house, leaving Kai in hopes of him finding their beloved daughter.
Kai looked around the town once more, this time looking at every detail as truly possible ssible until he came across a dark alley in the outskirts of town.
"Hello, is anyone there?", he croaked. There was no answer. "Guess no one's here, I'd better go look somewhe-" He was interrupted by a loud shriek coming from the alleyway.
"Who's there?", he quivered. "Sage, is that you?"
Another loud shriek broke the silence of the night and Kai looked pale.
"If you're there Sage, you can come out now!", he panicked. He felt a vibration and realized that he got a call from "SAGE". He answered to find the same man smiling evilly at him.
"She's such a good screamer, don't you think?", the voice smirked as Sage screamed into the phone. "Let me go!", she yelled into the phone.
"Don't worry Sage, I'm coming for you!", he said.
"Aw, you're gonna play hero and save your damsel in distress?" "This is gonna get interesting!", the voice cackled as he hanged up the phone.
Kai was even more determined to save Sage. Her life rested in his hands and he'll save her.
No matter what.
Sage:
The mysterious man hunged up the phone and looked at me with a mischievous grin. "You know.", he said while grabbing my chin and pulling my face close to his.
"Maybe he can save you." "In his dreams, of course." "But, he can't have you if I stole you from him!, he cackled and pulled my face to his.
"Between you and me, you're really pretty.", he said while raising his eyebrows.
"Let me go, you freak!", she yelled in his face. "Kai's gonna save me, just watch!"
Sage's head jerked backward and she squirmed in the ropes. He just watched her try to escape with a malicious smile.
"You can try all you want, you're not gettin' out.", he snickered in her ear.
"And even if you do, you won't survive ten seconds outside this room.", he hissed. "Don't try it, or I promise you."
"You'll dig your own grave."
The man turned off the room, not letting Sage see where he was until she felt cold lips on hers. After a threatened kiss, he finally took his lips off Sage's.
"I'll come back for you later, dumpling."
He left the room and locked the door. Sage was calling out to Kai to see if he would answer. No one responded back, but when she shrieked, she heard a faint gasp coming from outside, then the sound was fading.
"No, no wait!" "Come back!", she yelled. "Come back.", she sniffled. "Don't leave me with him." "No!!", she cried. Tears began pooling in her eyes as she tried to call for help. But, as expected, no one answered.
She cried for what felt like hours and when the man returned to the room, he found Sage sleeping in the ropes with dried tears on her face.
He came closer to Sage and he cupped her cheeks. He put her face close to his. He sighed in disappointment.
"I won't hurt you the way your hero did." "I'll be your hero."
Kai:
I went inside the alleyway and it turned out that this alleyway was a lot bigger than he expected. "Sage, are you in her-ow!!" He bumped into what seems like a door. "There's a door in a alleyway?" "Who knew?" He opened the door and it revealed a couple of military guards. They whipped their heads around and shot at Kai. Kai, being the prideful type of guy, actually tried to fight them, but they had weapons and he had nothing. Kai dodged the lazer shots and headed towards the door, but the guards got there first.
"Hey, fight us like a man, you coward!", they said in unison. "Oh, so it's gonna be that way, huh?", he beamed. He found a nearby sword in a wool bag by the entrance.
"Now, we're even."" "En garde.", he said as he began fighting the guards with the sword. With one move of his sword, he managed to knock down both of their guns out of their hands. To his surprise, they ran out the door, not even looking back behind while Kai had a victory dance break.
"If this is just the beginning, then.."
"Where's the rest of the traps?"
Mystery Man:
I watched the hero do his victory dance break. Pathetic. He won't survive the next trap.
"If this is just the beginning, then.."

Boss won't be happy he got this far.
Kai: Q & A time! C'mon Sage!
Sage: Didn't Lena say that the next Q & A wasn't until next Sunday?
Kai: The readers didn't see my abs last time!
Sage: I don't think they can see you at all..
Kai: *sniffs*
Sage: Are you crying?
Kai: No!
Kai: Let's go before Lena arriv- ah Lena! Heheh..
Lena: *stares irritated*
