Sinopsis

Bab 1

Prologue

She sighed, sadness burdening her voice as she looked up to the sky. It's been years since she last lay eyes on him and she was ready to admit she was thinking of giving up and do so. Maybe she was ready to move on. She didn't know how much longer she would wait for him. After all, it's been 7 years since she's seen that face.  She continued to study the constellations in the sky and wondered about what she would say and what she would do once he came back to her. 

"I hope you'll be here soon.", she wistfully said to the open and painfully empty air. "I just---I just want to see you again."

"Be with you again."

"I've been waiting for so long." Sadness clouded her mind and eyes as salty tears rolled down her soft cheeks, she lay on the mattress . She continued to silently cry until sleep claimed her for the night and wiped her mind. 

Meanwhile, on a distant planet, he longed for home, for her gentle touch and sweet voice. He knew how much she missed him, and he wasn't going to let her continue to suffer like this. With a heartbroken smile he opened the photo album and relived all their joyous moments together for a short time, praying to what ever came after that they would get the chance to make more . With each passing orbit of the sun he missed her even more, his heart cracking further, a piece of it falling into the dark abyss that was his solitude and her shadow and empty place beside him. He's decided that one day, he'd leave this planet and go back to her. 

"I'll come back for you and we'll be together again." 

"I promise, Sage."

CHPT 2: PT 1 - Almost Magical
"Come back to me, Kai."  It repeated in his head like a mantra for most of the day, and when he finally went to sleep the next night, something strange happen.  As he turned off the lights and flopped onto the bed, he closed his eyes and fell asleep. There was flashing light and he was on an island's beach. He was wearing an atrociously colourful shirt and tropical shorts with sandals. He found Sage sporting a sun dress, crying by the ocean tide.  "Sage, Sage what's wrong?" He gently shook her and she looked up to him with a heartbreaking frown. They gazed into each other's eyes and Kai could see the bright light from her eyes dimming with each look. It broke him seeing her this way. CHPT 1: PT 1 - Memories
SAGE:    She rose from the slumber that next morning with an ill-lit and disappointed expression. Once again, her beloved has not yet returned. She got up from the bed and went outside. She inhaled the surrounding air of Spring, feeling the early morning due on her toes, hoping for it to relieve her of her lack of patience. She took it all in before she headed towards the garden and watched the plants sway in the warm breeze.    She missed him. She missed not seeing him for weeks. FLASHBACK:    Sage was walking at a frantic pace, trying to arrive at school before the final bell rang. She could see the school in the distance as she continued running steadily. Along the way, she managed to slip on the air above the sidewalk and came crashing down to the ground.    'Ouch, that was some graceful landing. 'I shouldn't even be in this situation, but sitting here wouldn't do anything.' She got up and continued on her way to school, but as soon as she arrived, the school bell rang, starting school.   Sage rushed in through the double doors of the school and rushed towards the first mind-melting brain torturing hour of the day. She knocked on the door of the classroom and waited a couple of seconds until the teacher opened the door.    The teacher interrogated Sage on why she was late for class. "Oh, this isn't the interview room.", he said in a mischievous tone.  "This is the men's employment grounds."  The men tried to surround Sage but she was agile and she outmaneuvered them in seconds. Looks like all that running really payed off huh? It's not that simple. When Sage arrived at the stairs, she was so busy looking back to see if they were still following her that she fell down the stairs and into someone's arms. Or at least she thought she did. She looked up to see Kai smiling down at her. Déjà vu struck, and the entire building started to turn pitch black. Sage gasped in fear, was this real? The building had disappeared completely.
