LOGINSAGE:
She rose from the slumber that next morning with an ill-lit and disappointed expression. Once again, her beloved has not yet returned. She got up from the bed and went outside. She inhaled the surrounding air of Spring, feeling the early morning due on her toes, hoping for it to relieve her of her lack of patience. She took it all in before she headed towards the garden and watched the plants sway in the warm breeze.
She missed him. She missed not seeing him for weeks. She looked at the sky with a bleak smile and slumped shoulders to continue her walk. "It feels good to breathe in the fresh air.", she said as she continued down the path to the garden. As she reached towards the garden, she had a sudden flashback of her previous years.
FLASHBACK:
"Hey, do you want to grab something to eat?", Kai asked. "There's a restaurant nearby."
Sage nodded her head in approval and they both took to the street towards the nearby restaurant in a leisurely walk. Every chance that she had, Sage would often sneak a glance at Kai while he searched for the place. When Kai would look back at her, she would blush in embarrassment.
"Sorry, it's just, you look amazing-I mean good.", she said as they arrived at the door of the restaurant. They took their seats and gave the waiter their order. While they waited, Kai told Sage of a story about a pirate and the lost treasure.
"Do you wanna know what happened afterwards?", Kai asked.
"Go on don't stop.", Sage urged.
"OK, so when the pirate laid eyes on the golden treasure, he sang a chicken song!" He got up from his chair "Ba-wk-bawk!!" He did the chicken dance while waiting.
Sage giggled and tried to avert eye contact with Kai, but she found she couldn't. And she didn't really care.
The waiter returned with their food and placed it on the table along with their drinks.
When Sage and Kai left the restaurant, they headed towards the beach.
Sage and Kai linked hands, finger intertwined and walked through the fine soft sand and they approached the sunset.
"Kai, I uh need to confess something to you," Sage told him when they sat down
"What'd you mean?", he asked, puzzled about her sudden bluntness and fidgety domineer.
She averted his gaze and looked down to the ground, putting her hands behind her back and swinging on the heels of her feet, signalling she was indeed nervous.
"It's just-j-OH It's just that I love you. Okay?" She said looking him in the eye "I always have been in love with you, and it's okay if you don't feel the same." She turned to step away and leave when a hand snaked around her waist. She was spun around until she landed in Kai's arms, flush against his chest.
Kai whispered in her ear "I love you too, Sage."
Sage sighed in joy and smiled as she finally confessed to the love of her life. It's been months and she's done it.
Together they watched the sunset and Sage began to wonder of what would come for them with the future. She closed her eyes in happiness.
PRESENT DAY:
"If only it could be like that again Everlasting is the pain of heartache and distance in love." She tucked a strand of her frail brown hair behind her ear. 'He said he would come back one day and that I'll be waiting for him, but that day has yet to come.'
Sage gently picked up a rose and sniffed it, inhaling its pleasant smell. She returned to the house and went inside, hoping to find something that'll distract her thoughts of Kai.
She sighed in disappointment as she now had to wait another day, filling her heart with misery every day.
She had no idea he was trying to reach out to her.
Kai:
I made the biggest mistake of my life. I left her behind all those years. She's probably moved on without me, and that's okay. I just want her to be happy, but I broke my promise to her. She doesn't deserve someone who deceives her still. If only there was a way where I could do both. Be happy with Sage and be happy with living here, but it doesn't work like that.
"Sage.."
"I miss you."
"I wish I could be with you."
I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep, another day coming to an end. I want to come back for Sage but I can't leave Caister.
I wake up to clouds floating over the sky and I seem to be standing on a medieval bridge. My choppy black hair was flowing with the wind. I was wearing a white suit with a red rose. The place felt weird, but comforting at the same time, like being encased in a cloud.
A silhouette of a young woman was heading towards me until I saw it to be Sage. I smiled brightly as she came closer to me. She blushed when she saw me and tried to look away, but I took her hand and twirled her 'round and round. She tumbled into my arms and when she realized she did, she immediately got off.
"Sage... you're so beautiful."
"When will you come home, Kai?"
The dream started fading and I tried to reach Sage, but it was too late. Pitch black hit before I registered it.
Sage was walking down the empty streets of New Orleans and everyone was getting festive for the Christmas holiday. The neon lights that symbolized Christmas were dancing with one another on this wonderful day. She felt the cold breeze of the winter evening on her face as she breathed out."It's Christmas Day, the day when everyone hangs out with each other", she said. "It's a time for family and friends." "But, what is the meaning of Christmas if you have neither?" She walked towards the gigantic tree the city owned and everyone gathered around, making a ring around the tree. They lighted up the tree and it sparkled in the sky while everyone looked up from the ground."The meaning of Christmas is being grateful with what you have.", that voice spoke gently to her. She turned around and found Kai with a santa hat on and a present in his hands."Here, it's a present." "From me to you.", he said while givi
Dear Kai,When you are reading this letter, I would be gone from the face of the earth. I can't wait for you anymore! You've left me for 5 years on my own and I think it's time to give up on.. us. I know how much this pains you and me but I think it's time for us to move on now, wouldn't you say? You have a wonderful life at Caistea, living the job of your dreams, and I'm over here crying for weeks and weeks. I'm sorry, but I think it's time for us to go our separate ways. I now realize I'm not the soulmate you deserve in your life. It's time for me to go, but you can still have a delightful life ahead of you. You can make memories, you can forget the past and move on. Without me...But, I'll always remember your heartwarming smile. Your kindness, your protectiveness, and most of all. Your loving-ness and desire for me. You poured your heartout to me, and I poured my heart to you. That's why fate did, and that's why fate has to
"You have ten minutes to find your sweetheart and if you don't find her..""She's mine.", he cackled."Ten minutes?" "That isn't enough time to search all over town." "We'll never make it on time!", Sage's parents both said at the same time."We have to!" "Sage is counting on us to save her!", Kai pleaded. "I can't risk losing her.""I'll look for Sage, keep an eye out in case something else strange happens."Sage's parents nodded their heads in hesitant agreement and they went inside their house, leaving Kai in hopes of him finding their beloved daughter.Kai looked around the town once more, this time looking at every detail as truly possible ssible until he came across a dark alley in the outskirts of town."Hello, is anyone there?", he croaked. There was no answer. "
FLASHBACK:Sage and Kai have been together for a couple of months now, and everything was peaceful, until today. They were walking down the park when a woman's voice called out for Kai. Kai and Sage searched around until they bothsaw a blonde femalerunning towards him."Kai!", she called out to him. "Luna?", he asked. "There you are!" She embraced him in a hug while Sage let go of his hand and walked towards the nearest coffee shop. She sighed defeatedas she realized that they were probably dating and Kai didn't like her like that. She went inside and sat down at the window view seat and peered out at the world.Kai noticed that Sage wasn't by his sideand looked, only to find that she wasn't around anymore. He told Luna that he needed to go somewhere. "Okay, but give me a call when you come back.", she giggled and She left a couple of minutes later, and Kai went into town to look
"Oh, this isn't the interview room.", he said in a mischievous tone."This is the men's employment grounds."The men tried to surround Sage but she was agile and she outmaneuvered them inseconds. Looks like all that running really payed off huh? It's not that simple. When Sage arrived at the stairs, she was so busy looking back to see if they were still following her that she fell downthe stairs and into someone's arms. Or at least she thought she did. She looked up to see Kai smiling down at her. Déjà vu struck, and the entire building started to turn pitch black. Sage gasped in fear, was this real? The building had disappeared completely. She could see was nothing. There was nothing visible except her and Kai."Close your eyes.", he spokegently. "It'll be okay, I promise.", he said. "How do I know you're not lying to me?",
FLASHBACK: Sage was walking at a frantic pace, trying to arrive at school before the final bell rang. She could see the school in the distance as she continued running steadily. Along the way, she managed to slip on the air above the sidewalk and came crashing down to the ground. 'Ouch, that was some graceful landing.'I shouldn't evenbe in this situation, but sitting here wouldn't do anything.' She got up and continued on her way to school, but as soon as she arrived, the school bell rang, starting school. Sage rushed in through the doubledoors of the school and rushed towards the first mind-melting brain torturing hour of the day. She knocked on the door of the classroom and waited a couple of seconds until the teacher opened the door. The teacher interrogatedSage on why she was late for class. Sage told the teacher she was runnin
