LOGIN"Come back to me, Kai."
It repeated in his head like a mantra for most of the day, and when he finally went to sleep the next night, something strange happen.
As he turned off the lights and flopped onto the bed, he closed his eyes and fell asleep. There was flashing light and he was on an island's beach. He was wearing an atrociously colourful shirt and tropical shorts with sandals. He found Sage sporting a sun dress, crying by the ocean tide.
"Sage, Sage what's wrong?" He gently shook her and she looked up to him with a heartbreaking frown. They gazed into each other's eyes and Kai could see the bright light from her eyes dimming with each look. It broke him seeing her this way. But military had to come first.
"Kai, why aren't you coming back?", she sobbed. "I thought, that we were meant to be." "But I guess it didn't mean anything to you, did it?"
"It does mean something to me-." he was stopped when Sage stood up and walked away , looking back at him with heartbroken eyes.
"I'm so glad I spent my last moments with you." "I'm glad I got to love you and you got to love me, I think."
"What are you talking about?! "We were in love, how could you give up on me?!?" "How could you give up on us?"
Sage looked back to the road in front of her and said these last things before pitch black fell.
"You left me behind." "Nothing could make me forget that pain."
KAI:
The dream faded away as Kia awoke on a hospital bed. There were nurses frantically running around until one of the nurses noticed he was awake.
"Oh, he's awake." "Send in his friends."The other nurses called Arlo and Lance over. They rushed into the hospital bed and spotted me.
"Dude, it's a good thing you're even alive.", Arlo said. "You scared us, bud." Arlo put his hand on Kai's shoulders.
"What happened?", Kai asked. The last thing he remembered was.. Sage. 'It's too late. She'd moved on without me. I've moved on without her, but I feel a empty space in my heart.'
"Kai, Kai are you there?" "Caistea to Kia!" Lance was waving his hands in front of Kai's face. Kai crashed back to reality and apologized half-heartily for the minor delay.
"Oh, sorry I just, never mind." "Can we get out of here?!" Kai started to leave the hospital room when Arlo and Lance stopped him. "Dude, the nurses said you have to stay here until tonight, you had a pretty bad accident, man."
Kai was about to go to sleep when he realized that he didn't know who won the training course. "Wait!" "Who won the course?" "Who, I say, who?!"
Arlo and Lance looked at Kai with a proud look, saying they won right as Kai collapsed back there. Arlo and Lance told Kai the whole story while he was out.
"Even though we won, we still kinda feel bad that you ended up collapsing." "We don't know what happened, exactly." Lance said with a confused tone, with Arlo nodding his head in agreement.
"It was probably because of drill we had to do a couple weeks back, you were pretty wasted back then." Arlo said. "But hey, we all were."
"Well uh, we gotta go now, so we'll see you back at the apartment common rooms tonight." Lance said as they both headed towards the door. Lance opened the door and they left. Kai looked up to the ceiling and thought about Sage.
'She's lovely and radiant.
I can feel her shine all the way here.
I wonder how you're doing.
Sage.'
SAGE:
Sage was at the doors of GoldSpring Enterprises when she realized something was wrong. She must've forgot her resume at home. But that means she'll have to go back home, and it took 2 hours to get here. Leaving now would mean she'd be late for the interview and that means she probably won't get the job. Sage would just have to press her luck and hope they won't need the resume today.
As she entered in through the doors of the huge company, she instantly found she was lost. She never expected this place to be so big, and that was only part. Just imagine the rest of it. She try to find her way through the busy hallways of co-workers and managers bustling through and through.
After a few minutes of hard searching and looking, Sage arrive at the Central Station. She ask the security lady where the nearest elevator was. She pointed to the nearest elevator was on the second floor on the map on her desk and said that said she needed to go on the stairs to even reach the elevator. She pointed towards the stairs on the right of the central station and told the girl that the stairs was located where to the right and then take a left. I thanked her for the information.
"No problem, by the way, I haven't seen you around here before." "Is this your first time here at GoldSpring Enterprises?" She asked with a curious tone. Sage simply grimaced and the secretary nodded her head. She scanned me, seeing as to why I was wearing such casual clothes.
"Sorry, I don't have any professional clothes back home." "This is my first time having a job and I don't really know the expectations of a job yet." She hung her head in embarrassment. Sage knew she was wearing casual clothes but she didn't think it was that casual that she had to mention it.
Sage turned right and saw a advertisement sign about a deluxe computer. She took a left and found the stairs. After she went up the stairs and as I about to take the final step, she almost tripped but kept her balance. She spotted the Interview Room. She went inside the room and asked someone where the manager for the interview was.
"Oh, this isn't the interview room.", he said in a mischievous tone.
"This is the men's employment grounds."
Sage was walking down the empty streets of New Orleans and everyone was getting festive for the Christmas holiday. The neon lights that symbolized Christmas were dancing with one another on this wonderful day. She felt the cold breeze of the winter evening on her face as she breathed out."It's Christmas Day, the day when everyone hangs out with each other", she said. "It's a time for family and friends." "But, what is the meaning of Christmas if you have neither?" She walked towards the gigantic tree the city owned and everyone gathered around, making a ring around the tree. They lighted up the tree and it sparkled in the sky while everyone looked up from the ground."The meaning of Christmas is being grateful with what you have.", that voice spoke gently to her. She turned around and found Kai with a santa hat on and a present in his hands."Here, it's a present." "From me to you.", he said while givi
Dear Kai,When you are reading this letter, I would be gone from the face of the earth. I can't wait for you anymore! You've left me for 5 years on my own and I think it's time to give up on.. us. I know how much this pains you and me but I think it's time for us to move on now, wouldn't you say? You have a wonderful life at Caistea, living the job of your dreams, and I'm over here crying for weeks and weeks. I'm sorry, but I think it's time for us to go our separate ways. I now realize I'm not the soulmate you deserve in your life. It's time for me to go, but you can still have a delightful life ahead of you. You can make memories, you can forget the past and move on. Without me...But, I'll always remember your heartwarming smile. Your kindness, your protectiveness, and most of all. Your loving-ness and desire for me. You poured your heartout to me, and I poured my heart to you. That's why fate did, and that's why fate has to
"You have ten minutes to find your sweetheart and if you don't find her..""She's mine.", he cackled."Ten minutes?" "That isn't enough time to search all over town." "We'll never make it on time!", Sage's parents both said at the same time."We have to!" "Sage is counting on us to save her!", Kai pleaded. "I can't risk losing her.""I'll look for Sage, keep an eye out in case something else strange happens."Sage's parents nodded their heads in hesitant agreement and they went inside their house, leaving Kai in hopes of him finding their beloved daughter.Kai looked around the town once more, this time looking at every detail as truly possible ssible until he came across a dark alley in the outskirts of town."Hello, is anyone there?", he croaked. There was no answer. "
FLASHBACK:Sage and Kai have been together for a couple of months now, and everything was peaceful, until today. They were walking down the park when a woman's voice called out for Kai. Kai and Sage searched around until they bothsaw a blonde femalerunning towards him."Kai!", she called out to him. "Luna?", he asked. "There you are!" She embraced him in a hug while Sage let go of his hand and walked towards the nearest coffee shop. She sighed defeatedas she realized that they were probably dating and Kai didn't like her like that. She went inside and sat down at the window view seat and peered out at the world.Kai noticed that Sage wasn't by his sideand looked, only to find that she wasn't around anymore. He told Luna that he needed to go somewhere. "Okay, but give me a call when you come back.", she giggled and She left a couple of minutes later, and Kai went into town to look
"Oh, this isn't the interview room.", he said in a mischievous tone."This is the men's employment grounds."The men tried to surround Sage but she was agile and she outmaneuvered them inseconds. Looks like all that running really payed off huh? It's not that simple. When Sage arrived at the stairs, she was so busy looking back to see if they were still following her that she fell downthe stairs and into someone's arms. Or at least she thought she did. She looked up to see Kai smiling down at her. Déjà vu struck, and the entire building started to turn pitch black. Sage gasped in fear, was this real? The building had disappeared completely. She could see was nothing. There was nothing visible except her and Kai."Close your eyes.", he spokegently. "It'll be okay, I promise.", he said. "How do I know you're not lying to me?",
FLASHBACK: Sage was walking at a frantic pace, trying to arrive at school before the final bell rang. She could see the school in the distance as she continued running steadily. Along the way, she managed to slip on the air above the sidewalk and came crashing down to the ground. 'Ouch, that was some graceful landing.'I shouldn't evenbe in this situation, but sitting here wouldn't do anything.' She got up and continued on her way to school, but as soon as she arrived, the school bell rang, starting school. Sage rushed in through the doubledoors of the school and rushed towards the first mind-melting brain torturing hour of the day. She knocked on the door of the classroom and waited a couple of seconds until the teacher opened the door. The teacher interrogatedSage on why she was late for class. Sage told the teacher she was runnin
