CHPT 4: PT 1 - Malevolent Curses

Dear Kai,

When you are reading this letter, I would be gone from the face of the earth. I can't wait for you anymore! You've left me for 5 years on my own and I think it's time to give up on.. us. I know how much this pains you and me but I think it's time for us to move on now, wouldn't you say? You have a wonderful life at Caistea, living the job of your dreams, and I'm over here crying for weeks and weeks. I'm sorry, but I think it's time for us to go our separate ways. I now realize I'm not the soulmate you deserve in your life. It's time for me to go, but you can still have a delightful life ahead of you. You can make memories, you can forget the past and move on. Without me...

But, I'll always remember your heartwarming smile. Your kindness, your protectiveness, and most of all. Your loving-ness and desire for me. You poured your heart out to me, and I poured my heart to you. That's why fate did, and that's why fate has to pull us apart.  You are kindhearted, you are very supportive of me. You have a life on Caistea, you have friends. You have family. You are so lucky! 

And that's why I have to leave this world. I'm going to jump off a cliff. I can't take all this pressure everyone's been putting on me! I hope you understand and try to forget me, okay? I love you to the universe and back. Please.., live your life without me. Don't suffer with me, I'm the only one who deserves the punishment of being a coward. Crying my life away when I should've done something about it. I have wasted my only chance of truly being happy, and if I didn't take my life away, the void of darkness would only seem to get bigger, and I cannot let the darkness consume me whole. I want to have at least a glimpse of light in my heart, and that glimpse was you. You kept my world in tact, you were there for me when no one else was. You were my knight in shining armor, and you were shining brightly. I hope that one day, you and I can meet again..

Sage put the letter in the envelope and used the last bit of supernatural energy she was saving for years to teleport the letter.  Sage went to a nearby cliff and went towards the edge. 

"Goodbye, Kai." "I'll miss you.", she said dolefully. She took one last deep breath and jumped over the edge. 

There was a cop who was investigating a case, when he heard bones cracking and a loud thump. He rushed over and found a tiny fair-brown haired girl in a pool of scarlet blood. She looked lifeless, and her clothes have been dyed red. 

"Chief, there is a dead body over at a nearby cliff on Meadow Lane. It seems to be a suicide."

"Don't touch the body, we'll be there to mark it as our first crime scene."

The cop turned off the walkie talkie and kneeled down next to the body. He put his hand on her cheek and sighed. 

"Whoever you are, you didn't need to do this." "You could've had a better life."

He got up and saw the chief and three other cops heading towards him. 

"Well, I'll be!" "Is this murder?" 

"Or suicide?"

Kai and his buds were watching local Earth new until they came across a topic. 

YOUNG GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE AT CLIFF. 

"The girl's name was Sage Velez, she was about 23 years old when she committed suicide. The sad thing is that she didn't have any family that could stop her from doin-." Kai turned off the TV mid sentence and broke down with mixed emotions. 

Lance and Arlo looked at him with sad and confused expressions. Kai continued crying until a letter popped into his hands. 

TO: My beloved Kai

FROM: Your Sage

Kai opened the letter and began to read, each word breaking his heart. She killed herself because of him. He was the reason why she wasn't as happy as she was before. 

"Sage, why?", he whispered. "Why did you do this to me?", he yelled as sadness clouded his mind. "I promised you I'd come back!!" He continued to yell until Lance and Arlo both agreed to leave for the night. When they closed the door, Kai broke down even more and he cried shakily. 

"I promise, Sage, I'd be there for you." "And I guess we're both liars aren't we?" "We were meant to be, Sage, don't say that!"

"If there was a way to go back in time and save you."

"I'd do just that!." "I'd do that for you!!" 

"Please, Sage, I won't give up on you." 

"Ever." 

Sage woke up in a white scenery. I've done it, she said to herself. I left the earth, but I've left everyone too. 

"It's so sad that you had to leave him behind, yes?" 

"I did what you told me to do, now please leave Kai alone." "I don't want him to be in this." 

"That wasn't the deal!!!", the shadow yelled in anger. "I told you to kill yourself so Kai will become so angry and sad, his powers will have to awaken!" "And then, I can take his powers for myself!"

"You can't do that!" "Kai doesn't deserve to be controlled like this!" 

The shadow rushed up to Sage, almost in a uncertain speed, and placed a tiny dark diamond on her head. A few seconds later, the diamond merged into Sage's skull, making it a part of her. 

"Rise, minion!", he declared.  "Minion?" , she asked. "Gah!!" The diamond glowed black with a evil aura as Sage fought for control over herself. But, unfortunately, she lost the fight over the diamond, and it took over her completely. 

"Yes, my lord.", she said with glowing dark purple eyes.
