LOGINFLASHBACK:
Sage was walking at a frantic pace, trying to arrive at school before the final bell rang. She could see the school in the distance as she continued running steadily. Along the way, she managed to slip on the air above the sidewalk and came crashing down to the ground.
'Ouch, that was some graceful landing. 'I shouldn't even be in this situation, but sitting here wouldn't do anything.' She got up and continued on her way to school, but as soon as she arrived, the school bell rang, starting school.
Sage rushed in through the double doors of the school and rushed towards the first mind-melting brain torturing hour of the day. She knocked on the door of the classroom and waited a couple of seconds until the teacher opened the door.
The teacher interrogated Sage on why she was late for class. Sage told the teacher she was running late for school but the teacher didn't believe her and gave her detention after school.
Sage sat down as the teacher began the lesson once more. She took out her supplies and began taking notes along with the rest of the class.
When the lesson was over, the teacher announced that their presentations were due on Monday. The bell rang and the students exited the class in a flurry of papers, missing pens and weary groans. Sage put her supplies away and exited the classroom. She was headed towards her next class when she accidentally dropped the watch she was fiddling with, trying to put back on. When she bent down to grab it, a hand reached it before she could. She looked up to see a boy with jet-black choppy hair and a muscular, sharp jawline who now held the watch she was trying to get.
"I think this belongs to you.", he said. "You aren't putting it in the right way, here." He gently grabbed her hand and put the watch around her wrist. When he finished, he helped her to her feet.
"Uh, thanks.", Sage said.
"You're welcome.", he said. "I'll be late for class, so see ya I guess." He flashed a charming smile, left and headed towards class. Sage blushed a little and rushed towards her next class before she was late. Not aware, there were a couple of people watching them stewing in jealously.
Sage arrived at the second hour of the day and sat down on her seat. The bell wasn't going to ring until a minute later, so Sage decided to prepare for class. A couple seconds later, students began to flood the classroom and most rushed for the back seats, some fot the front daydreamers by the window and waited for the class to start.
When the lesson started, Sage, along with the rest of the class, was trying to paying attention to the lesson topic. Chemistry was Sage's favorite class, considering that Sage was mostly a science geek and loves science more than any other class.
But today, Sage wasn't into the concept of science, she had something else on her mind. The boy she had encountered in the hallway.
PRESENT:
Kai woke up to dim light streaming in from the window. He groaned and stretched, then he got up and headed for the bathroom. He did his business and left the bathroom and got changed into his uniform. He went downstairs where all of the other soldiers were and sat down at the one of the indoor tables.
"Hey, Kai, come sit down over here." "We have lots to talk about."
Kai grabbed a plate of whatever-they-were-serving and slowly began eating. He and the other soldiers were busy talking about their day, while Kai was just listening to them chatter away. It felt like they were taking forever to stop talking. But there was this one topic Kai couldn't ignore.
"Kai, isn't it about time you go meet with your girlfriend?" "What's her name?"
"Her name is Sage, I told you guys this yesterday", he said, irritated that they ask such a question.
"Yeah whatever Kai, doesn't she miss you or something?"
"I have something to do right now, I can't go back yet."
"I don't even know if I can return at all."
The alarm rang, signaling that it was time for training to begin. Kai and the other soldiers headed to the training arena, where the daily obstacle course was awaiting them. It was a daily constant. It's not easy, but someday all that training will be worth while.
"Right men, groups of three." The grand marshal took a clipboard, skimming through names, groups and assignments.
"First group will be soilders Kai, Lance, and Arlo." Kai marched over to he spilders and discussed tactic while the instructor was announcing the other groups.
"Allright, so what are we gonna do, men?" Kai and Arlo looked at Lance to see of he had a idea. "Sorry, but I don't know what to do." "Just try to avoid the other groups, I guess." Kai and Arlo smiled with a grin at Lance. "Lance, did we ever tell you, you're a genius!" Arlo put a arm around Lance and Kai and told them what they were going to do.
"You got it?" Kai and Lance both nodded their head in agreement. "Then let the games.. begin!!"
The marshal called the groups to meet back at the entrance. "I hope you all finish the course in time."
"Ready?"
The soldiers lined in a running stance and stared down the obstacle course with determination reaped from the need of survival.
"Set?"
The soldiers stretched their legs even further, about to pounce at the slightest sound.
"GO!"
The soldiers began running as fast as they could. Kai, Lance, and Arlo were in the lead. They were losing the others with every passing second. They were almost done with the course when Kai spotted something in the distance. He just shook off the thought and continued running. They were at the finish line when a pair of arms incased Kai. He looked down and saw Sage was hugging him.
"Come back to me, Kai."
Sage was walking down the empty streets of New Orleans and everyone was getting festive for the Christmas holiday. The neon lights that symbolized Christmas were dancing with one another on this wonderful day. She felt the cold breeze of the winter evening on her face as she breathed out."It's Christmas Day, the day when everyone hangs out with each other", she said. "It's a time for family and friends." "But, what is the meaning of Christmas if you have neither?" She walked towards the gigantic tree the city owned and everyone gathered around, making a ring around the tree. They lighted up the tree and it sparkled in the sky while everyone looked up from the ground."The meaning of Christmas is being grateful with what you have.", that voice spoke gently to her. She turned around and found Kai with a santa hat on and a present in his hands."Here, it's a present." "From me to you.", he said while givi
Dear Kai,When you are reading this letter, I would be gone from the face of the earth. I can't wait for you anymore! You've left me for 5 years on my own and I think it's time to give up on.. us. I know how much this pains you and me but I think it's time for us to move on now, wouldn't you say? You have a wonderful life at Caistea, living the job of your dreams, and I'm over here crying for weeks and weeks. I'm sorry, but I think it's time for us to go our separate ways. I now realize I'm not the soulmate you deserve in your life. It's time for me to go, but you can still have a delightful life ahead of you. You can make memories, you can forget the past and move on. Without me...But, I'll always remember your heartwarming smile. Your kindness, your protectiveness, and most of all. Your loving-ness and desire for me. You poured your heartout to me, and I poured my heart to you. That's why fate did, and that's why fate has to
"You have ten minutes to find your sweetheart and if you don't find her..""She's mine.", he cackled."Ten minutes?" "That isn't enough time to search all over town." "We'll never make it on time!", Sage's parents both said at the same time."We have to!" "Sage is counting on us to save her!", Kai pleaded. "I can't risk losing her.""I'll look for Sage, keep an eye out in case something else strange happens."Sage's parents nodded their heads in hesitant agreement and they went inside their house, leaving Kai in hopes of him finding their beloved daughter.Kai looked around the town once more, this time looking at every detail as truly possible ssible until he came across a dark alley in the outskirts of town."Hello, is anyone there?", he croaked. There was no answer. "
FLASHBACK:Sage and Kai have been together for a couple of months now, and everything was peaceful, until today. They were walking down the park when a woman's voice called out for Kai. Kai and Sage searched around until they bothsaw a blonde femalerunning towards him."Kai!", she called out to him. "Luna?", he asked. "There you are!" She embraced him in a hug while Sage let go of his hand and walked towards the nearest coffee shop. She sighed defeatedas she realized that they were probably dating and Kai didn't like her like that. She went inside and sat down at the window view seat and peered out at the world.Kai noticed that Sage wasn't by his sideand looked, only to find that she wasn't around anymore. He told Luna that he needed to go somewhere. "Okay, but give me a call when you come back.", she giggled and She left a couple of minutes later, and Kai went into town to look
"Oh, this isn't the interview room.", he said in a mischievous tone."This is the men's employment grounds."The men tried to surround Sage but she was agile and she outmaneuvered them inseconds. Looks like all that running really payed off huh? It's not that simple. When Sage arrived at the stairs, she was so busy looking back to see if they were still following her that she fell downthe stairs and into someone's arms. Or at least she thought she did. She looked up to see Kai smiling down at her. Déjà vu struck, and the entire building started to turn pitch black. Sage gasped in fear, was this real? The building had disappeared completely. She could see was nothing. There was nothing visible except her and Kai."Close your eyes.", he spokegently. "It'll be okay, I promise.", he said. "How do I know you're not lying to me?",
