38. Fighting back

As we arrived back at the pack Felk was the first to greet us. 

"Raven! Thank god your alright."

She hugged my wolf form turning to Zeld.

"Thank you to loss our alpha so soon would have been devastating."

I howled into the air calling all the pack members together. Felk stared at me curious.

"There's been a change in plans tell everyone to meet in the main den."

I nudged Zeld to follow me so we could get changed before we met with the pack. Once back at the den Zeld turned to me as I shifted and started getting dressed.

Before I could even start putting on my pants Zeld had also shifted and wrapped his arms around me.

"Zeld!"

He stared down at me a mischievous grin on his face.

"We need to met with the pack make a plan."

He took my clothes from my hands throwing them to the ground.

"The pack can wait."

I gently pushed him away.

"So can you."

He growled as he stepped back.

"Fine but tonight your mine."

He pressed his lips to mine as his tongue reached into my mouth my head spun from the feeling he gave me. It was a kiss to make my toes curl. I found myself wishing for more whether the pack was waiting or not.

Pulling away I glared at the absence of his lips. Laughing he shifted again to go and change in his own den.

Moments later I was in the main den Zeld by my side as was Talieus.

As I looked at each and everyone of their faces I realised How wrong I was to blindly follow what Luna had ordered. To rip our wolves from us even though the majority had done nothing wrong was in itself wrong. It was in that moment I decided to do what I could to stop the goddess from taking our wolves.

"I have called you all here today to tell you something that I have been hiding from you all."

Zeld snapped his head around to look at me but he remained silent showing a united front.

"While I know I have not been alpha long and that I have not grown up with my true pack as I would have liked. Believe me when I say I have always done what was best for the pack. However I have not been honest."

Murmurs started to spread through those that were before us.

"When I entered the trails I was shown a future far worse then the one we have all seen. In that future not only have the forest lakes wolves been destroyed but all the wolves. Every last wolf and werewolf alike will be eliminated and not just by warring with each other but by humans. Instead of bridging the gap between humans and nature those that are corrupt with power will create tension and discord. When that cord snaps the humans will retaliate and kill us all."

I paused to let my words sink in before revealing what the moon goddess had planed. 

"It is because of this future that the moon goddess Entrusted in me the task of taking away your wolves."

Once the words were out those listening roared in outrage.

"Shut up all of you and hear her out!"

The den went silent once again I smiled at Zeld in thanks.

"However Zeld has convinced her to give us one more chance to stop those that are corrupt before this future unfolds."

I turned to Zeld.

"It is because of Zeld that we have a chance to keep our wolves. I have failed all of you as your alpha I propose that Zeld take over as alpha of this pack. With him leading you will not lose your wolves, this I believe with all my heart."

Zeld stared at me wide eyed as I bowed before him.

The murmurs amongst the pack started to rise again til Zeld said one word.

"No."

I lifted my head back up to stare at him.

"No I will not be alpha."

Here he turned to the others.

"Raven was chosen as alpha she was merely a pawn of the moon goddess who gave her no choice. Each and every one of you would've done the same if faced with a goddess. Raven is and will always be my alpha."

Zeld pulled me up as the others cried in agreement. I took Zelds hand as I turned towards them. 

"Thank you I promise I will do everything I can to help us prove the moon goddess wrong. We are the first pack and as the first pack we have a responsibility to save all wolves whether they be of our pack or not. Get yourselves ready tomorrow we leave for upernavik. We will not wait for them to come to us, it's time we brought the fight to them and together we will weed out the corruption and Unite the packs. We will return them back to the wild where they rightfully belong."

The pack cheered at my words.

"Go now spend the rest of the day enjoying yourselves for we leave at dawn tomorrow."

All of the pack except Talieus and Zeld left the main den.

Talieus was the first to speak.

"Why didn't you tell us?"

Avoiding his eyes I answered.

"It was my burden to bare."

Zeld gently squeezed my shoulder.

"Now it's the packs burden we're in this together."

Talieus frowned. 

"I know what your trying to do by sending the pack to the enemy Raven but I have to ask, do you have a plan when we get there?"

I smiled.

"Of course I do."

He raised his eyebrows waiting for more but I remained silent. Shrugging he sighed.

"Well I guess I'd better get ready then."

Talieus exited the den leaving just Zeld and I inside. Zeld turned to me.

"You do have a plan right?"

I spoke nervously.

"I had planned on just winging it."

He chuckled.

"I guess that'll have to do."

I stepped closer getting on my tippy toes I kissed his lips.

"But first I believe a certain beta has waited long enough."

His growl rumbled in his chest as he wrapped his arms around me lifting me up slightly as he deepened the kiss.

Staring down at me I saw all the love he had for me. All these years we could have been together if only I had gotten over my fears so much earlier.

I became sad thinking about all the time we lost. He cupped my face.

"What's wrong Rav?"

I shook my head.

"Just thinking about all the time I wasted pushing you away. The truth is I was scared to let you in. Scared that if we started this you'd realise one day you made a mistake and you wouldn't want me any more."

He kissed me.

"Rav I don't think you realise just how much I love you."

He grabbed my hand.

"Do you remember our school dance?"

I nodded scowling.

"Yes Shiya had ruined my dress I was so mad at her."

"And what happened after she ruined it?"

I smiled.

"The next day I found another even more beautiful dress hanging in my wardrobe."

He caressed my cheek as I realised what he was saying.

"That was you?"

He chuckled.

"Even back then I loved you I would do anything to make you happy Rav. I will never not want you in my life. You are the most amazing spirited female I could ever know. When I'm with you I feel complete."

I threw my arms around his neck as he held me tight.

"Come on we should spend some time with the pack for we leave tomorrow."

I nodded.

"Good idea."

He touched my nose.

"Pre warning though tonight as promised your all mine."

I giggled as he grabbed my hips pressing his lips to mine.

"Come on I'm pretty sure Talieus has some home made rum stashed."

I smiled mischievously.

"It'll be just like when were kids and we used to steal Tharon's top shelf alcohol."

For hours the pack told jokes and old stories about their lives. It was so refreshing to get to know them as we let go of our worries. Even if it was just for one night. 

It wasn't til late that night that Zeld and I found our way back to his den. Before we had even crossed the threshold Zeld had me in his arms.

As his hands ran through my hair he lightly tugged as he took my lips his tongue dancing with mine. with one arm he lifted me up my legs wrapping around his waist. His lips kissed their way down my cheek to met my neck. I felt his canines graze my skin as I pulled back to look at him. 

His eyes glowed in his anticipation. Without a word I got back to my feet as slowly I started to undress him. As I pulled the furs from him my hands caressed his skin. Even as I undressed him he was doing the same to me. It was as if we were seeing each other naked for the first time. Taking in every muscle every line every scar all of it. We were seeing each other as mates and not just friends which made me suddenly nervous. 

He chuckled at my shaking hands.

"We don't have to Rav if your not ready."

I shook my head.

"No I want to we leave tomorrow who knows whether we will get another chance."

Now both naked Zeld stepped closer as his skin touched mine I felt my whole body tingle. Lifting me up again he gently lowered me to the ground til I was underneath him. Gazeing down at me he smiled.

"I love you Rav."

"I love you too Zeld."

His hardness nudged my core granting access as he paused requesting permission. I nodded slightly as he entered i moaned in pleasure. The moment he entered my canines extended as I rolled us over so that I was on top. 

He laughed.

"Definitely the alpha."

I smiled as I took his lips I plunged him in deeper my kisses made their way to his neck as my canines ached to mark him. 

"Do it."

I pulled back looking down at him, his eyes delved into mine.

"I want to be yours and for you to be mine no matter what happens I want our marks to be the one good thing to come out of this even if we all die tomorrow."

My eyes glowed as I I dug my canines into his neck a second later his own pierced mine. This time was nothing like it was with Ki. The second his canines entered my neck our bodies were as one. I felt everything he felt, I felt all the love he had for me and I knew he felt mine for him. 

His body delved into mine as we melded into one being both soul and body. I grabbed his hair as I bite deeper even as he did the pain an ecstasy that drove our love. I moved my body with his as I retracted my canines taking his lips once again our blood mixing. Our tongues melding our life's essence further sealing our bond. In that moment I knew this time I had found my true mate. 

His pleasure matched my own as he rolled us over again plunging even deeper never breaking our kiss. My screams of pleasure muffled as we neared the edge of the abyss we both sort in each other. 

My core exploded as we tipped over that edge together finally taking a breath I clung to him the spasms of my orgasm turning my legs to jelly as my claws tore into his back. His pain becoming my own as I felt it all, the pain making me feel even more alive.

His stared down at me as our breath matched each other in their quick panting. 

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that to you."

I giggled as I still felt him inside me and loving it. His smiled turned mischievous as I felt him already hard again.

"Im not done with you yet."

His lips returned to mine as he again thrust into me causing me to moan as again he took me our love making continuing well into the night. 

I knew now that I had found my true mate what I'd had with Ki paled in comparison to what I felt with Zeld. I knew that our love would live forever and no matter what the future held Zeld would always be my one true mate.
