59. Luna vs loki

Loki's POV

I saw the flames the second they were lit. It wasn't long after the the sounds of battle could be heard. It was hard to just stay in one place when I knew there had to be wolves dying even now. The sound of growls being cut short reminded me of Tharon's attacks all those years ago. The blood spilled back then was high. It was hard to believe that after everything he'd done he now stood with my father's section of the pack ready to fight with our pack instead of destroy it. I mean sure he only stood with Talieus because I refused to fight beside him. I just could not forgive him for taking her away from me. 

I once again missed the voice of my wolf knowing that his pain was so high he would never speak to me again still hurt.

I shook off the thoughts no now was not that time to think of such things when any minute now I would have to join in the fighting. So hear I stood in wolf form with the silver claw pack and five of the forest lakes pack members that still held loyalty to me ever after I had abandoned them. Why they still held faith in me I couldn't begin to know but I only hoped that their faith was not misplaced.

'Keyon any signs of the enemy from your end?'

'No it's all clear here. Have you seen or heard from Alpha Raven?'

'Not yet, though I can guess where she is.'

'The Druid tree. Yes I had thought as much myself. I hope she knows what she's doing.'

'Considering she's a goddess I'm sure she does.'

'Just because she's a goddess doesn't mean she knows what's best nor what she's doing. The fact that we are in this mess is prof of that.'

'True but goddess or not I would still believe in her.'

'Hmm I suppose you right.'

'Well keep me posted it's likely we'll be called in to join the fight soon.'

'Well do.'

Next was to check in with my father even though we still hadn't talked much since I'd returned. He only grudgingly excepted me as an elder merely because Raven ordered it but still personal feelings aside we were in the middle of battle.

'Talieus....?'

Even now I still didn't know how to address my father, the name coming out more like a question.

'How's your position coming?'

'We've just been called to the front lines. Seems the red paw pack needs help.'

Well that did not surprise me in the least since it was three packs against three. With only one pack on the front lines of course the red paw pack was having trouble.

'Very well.'

Seems even from the tree Rave has found a way to see everything. A few seconds passed before I added.

'Talieus!'

'What is it?'

'Just...be careful.'

He didn't answer straight away making me think he wasn't going to when a chuckle sounded through the link.

'Same to you son.'

If I was in human form I would have smiled. 

It wasn't long before the call came through for my unit to join the fray.

'Loki You need to take your wolves to the north east of the forest. Luna is there and the red paw pack are no match for her.'

I answered without hesitation.

'Understood.'

Calling to the other five with me we headed straight for Luna.

'And Loki you need to find a way to separate Shiya from the others.'

'Seperate them? Why?'

'Rav's orders that's all I know.'

'Fine I'll do what I can.'

By the time we got to the front lines most of Damiens best fighters had been taken down. Shiya fought with Quin by her side not far from Luna. Damien himself was within Luna's grasp her head bent as she was about to feed off his blood. Without a second thought I charged at her knocking them both to the ground.

She was quick to recover jumping up a second later with a counter attack. The five with me arriving slower jumped in as we matched her blow for blow. However even with six on one we were still yet to land a blow. 

'Zeld tell Damien to go after Shiya he's going to have to do what he can to separate Shiya from Quin, it's going to take all of my unit just to hold Luna off.'

'I'll rely the message.'

That done I put all my concentration into fighting Luna. She was strong, even with our superior strength and speed she still managed to fight all six of us off. 

'This isn't working Loki she's too fast.'

I growled in frustration as Luna dosages yet another volley of our attacks, as she laughed the whole time.

"Is this the best the descendants of the first lycan pack can do?"

All six of us surrounded her yet she didn't seem to have a care in the world, almost like she was enjoying playing with us.

'Keep going Luna your taunts do not work on us.'

Her smile widens.

"Ah I had forgot forest lakes wolves could resist my control. How refreshing it will make this fight even more interesting now that we can converse."

'Save your breath it will not change the fact that I'll never let you near my daughter.'

She started laughing as i lunged for her, I didn't even see her move as my attack hit thin air. I spun around growling.

'FANG!'

But I was too late she had already drained him off blood. She tossed his body to the side as we surrounded her again.

"You'll never let me near your daughter? You make it seem like you have a choice in the matter. Even with your superior numbers you are no match for me. As for your daughter...."

She stepped closer her features were so much like Raves it was scary. 

"Raven will know the pain of lossing all of her creations. I plan on killing every last one of her werewolves just like she killed every last one of my vampires."

I growled at her.

'What would that achieve? How will that possibly make anything better?'

She laughed unlike Damien I could freely talk to her without fear of being controlled since forest lakes wolves were immune.

"Make things better? Why the hell would I even want to make things better? Raven pulled me from her own essence. Created me from her power to exact revenge on the retched world. Then when she had a change of heart she tried to be rid of me like I wasn't once apart of her! What you all fail to get is I am a part of her, I am the darkest part of her. I am what she would be if didn't have all these loved ones she so foolishly clings to."

I could sense her building up power.

"I am what she will turn into once she losses everything for good. I am what so will be when she realises how alone she really is."

Before I could stop her she kicked one of the others sending them flying. Then the second went with a punch and before I knew it she had me bu the scruff of my neck.

"I am her and I will not be shallowed by her to rot in the deepest recesses of her being. Never again will I be forced to suffer through her holier then thou utopian dreams. Life is pain, life is suffering, life is not sunshine and rainbows and she will know my pain. She will know my suffering starting with you."

I knew what she was going to do and I also knew I had no hope of stopping her. They say your life flashes before your eyes before you die. I say they're idiots. There is no serene moment where everything either becomes clear or you feel your regrets. No when you die your just dead nothing more, there was just darkness and an endless nothing. I knew that the moment her fangs pierced my skin and my heart beat for the last time.
