Chapter 4.

CHAPTER 4.

Elia is still standing in place, in the forest alone while she watched the guy as he walks away from her and disappeared in the distance.

“Elia…” Elia turned at the direction of the voice, where someone called out to her and saw Lerene and Drago.

“We’ve been watching him since a while ago, but we didn’t see anything wrong from him – for now.” Drago said.

“Leave him to us, Elia.” Elia nodded at Lerene and she went back to the academy.

When she arrived at the entrance of the academy, she already regretted it, because she saw the head wizard with Professor Collins and both of them are glaring at her.

“What are you doing in the forest? Didn’t we specifically informed you to not go there?” Professor Collins asked her.

“I’m sorry, professor. I only went there to see if there’s a witch hunter hiding inside the forest. I felt a presence, but it could’ve been my imagination.” Elia answered.

“Is that so? Okay, we’re going to tell our familiars to investigate and circle the area.” The head wizard answered and Elia nodded.

“I’m very sorry, head wizard. Professor Mychuka.” Elia bowed in apology.

“But next time, ask permission from us before going to the forest because it’s dangerous in there.” The head wizard reminded her.

“I know that you’re one of its protectors, but you’re still not that strong enough to protect yourself. Got that?” Elia nodded.

“I understand, head wizard. Thank you for your concern.” Elia answered.

“You may now go back to your dorm before curfew.” Elia went back to the dorms quietly.

Elia started reading books inside her dorm, for the purpose finding a new information and solution about Shiloah’s case.

All of these books came from her home way back to the town of Arizalma. She took most of them because no one is reading it back home.

She sighed when she couldn’t find enough information to give a solid solution on Shiloah’s case.

She set aside the book she’s reading and decided to take a break. She lay down, while looking at the ceiling, she remembered her sister.

She got up from her bed then went to Lea’s room and knocked on her door. Lea immediately opened the door.

“Something wrong, Elia?” Lea asked. Elia went inside her room. She sat down on her sofa.

“Lea, every time you’re with Shiloah, are you feeling anything from her?” Elia asked.

“Well, yes… I feel like there’s a barrier on her body.” Lea answered. “Why did you asked?” She asked.

“I want to help her to control her power but I think, that barrier is the reason why she can’t.” Elia explained.

“Is that what you are doing in the clinic?” Elia nodded. Lea held her chin in thought.

“I can’t think of anything, but I guess we can ask the head wizard or our grandparents about this.” Lea suggested.

“I think that’s the only solution that we can do for now.” Elia agreed then sighed. She stood up from the sofa.

“I have to go now before the land lady spots me outside of my room after curfew and scold me again.” Elia stated hurriedly.

“Yeah, be careful.” Elia hastily went out of the room, but the land lady caught her and she sighed.

“I thought that you’re still not here. I was about to call the head wizard about this.” The land lady firmly stated.

“I’m sorry about this.” Elia stated. “No. I just don’t want something happen to you.” The land lady said then she went on her way.

Elia sheepishly scratched her cheeks then went inside her room to rest. She’ll just going to continue everything by tomorrow.

It’s already morning and Elia is walking in the garden of the academy when she saw the witch hunter, waiting for her.

She didn’t mind him when he followed her. She didn’t say anything because she’s not going to get something from him.

He’s silently followed her until he held her arm out. She stops from walking and she turned back at him.

“What do you want now?” Elia asked him in irritation. “Tell me about Demonaire.” Elia merely glared at him when she heard his question.

“Do you really think that I’m going to tell you about that?” Elia asked then turn her back. She begins to walk again towards the classroom, but the witch hunter persistently followed her.

“Hey, witch! We’re not done yet!” The witch hunter said clearly aggravated. “But I’m already done with you!” Elia shot back, then she went inside the room.

All of the students stared in her direction but she didn’t mind it. She sat down beside Shiloah.

“Witch! Answer me! What was that about?!I really need to know this instance!” The witch hunter screamed

“You’re not going to get any answers from me, so get lost!” Elia shouted at him, as she started to lose her patience. Someone went inside the room.

The new guy was shocked to see Elia and turned to look at the witch hunter. He immediately creased his forehead.

“This is really intriguing. How did a-”

“Familiar. He’s my familiar that I made to be a human so that, I have a butler here in the academy.” Elia hastily interrupted.

Elia won’t let someone know the truth about the guy because she wants to know the real reason why the witch hunter is here in the academy.

“O-kay…” The new guy hesitantly nodded, then he signaled them to sit down. They all sat down, and the witch hunter went out of the room.

“Before anything else, I’m Lenrick Goldriel. I will be your professor for your familiars’ special ability.” He introduced himself.

“Wow. I can totally see a witch that looks like Rose.” He stated while staring at Elia with a wide smile.

‘How did he know that I am witch? And he also knows my mom? Are they friends?’ Elia thought to herself.

“I think Hashton should see this. From all of us, he’s the only one who misses her too much.” He added.

‘Who’s Hashton?’ Elia asked again at the back of her mind.

“Let’s do the attendance.” Professor Lenrick announced, then he started the attendance.

“Each familiar has their own special abilities, and the extent of their power will depend on how strong the master is.” He explained.

“You can use them for offense, defense, or support. That will also be depending on the master.” He added. He smiled then looked at Elia.

“Ms. Crossevell, come here. Show to us your familiar.” Elia stood up then went in front of them.

“Gate of the familiars, I open the gate to the other side, I call upon thee, a baby wolf, Adventu Porta!” Elia swiped her hand up in the air, and a magic circle appeared from behind her.

A small wolf appeared from the magic circle and he immediately scratches his fur to Elia’s leg.

“How are you, Wolfie?” Elia asked affectionately. She kisses the wolf on his head.

“Interesting. If Rose’s familiar is a nine-tailed fox, to her daughter is a baby wolf.” Elia creased her forehead in question

“How did you know that she’s my mom?” Elia asked.

“You literally look like her and also, you have the same presence as her – the difference is that, her presence is stronger than yours.” He explained.

“If Hash is here, I think he’ll be thinking that you’re Rose.” He joked.

‘Is there a possibility that the Hash, he was talking about is our father?’ Elia wondered. She’s shy to ask her professor about it.

“Rose didn’t tell you about your father? She didn’t tell you who he is?” Elia shook her head.

“The only thing that she mentioned, is that we would feel a connection to him if we saw him.” Elia answered.

“Maybe later, you can meet him. He came here with us from Summerain. If you felt something, tell him, because he really misses you and Rose.” Lenrick patted her hair, then turned back at the whole class.

When he was about to say something about the lesson, someone opened the door and they saw a girl.

“Len! Something happened!” The girl said in panic, everyone became alert.

“We felt a strong presence of a dark magic from the eastern forest. This is stronger than before!” She fearfully exclaimed

Elia immediately looked at the direction of the window when she felt something wrong. 

‘This feeling, I can’t believe it.’ She said at the back of her mind.

“D-Demonaire…” Elia whispered. She saw someone or something that is flying towards their way.

Elia immediately cast a barrier spell to protect everyone from an enemy’s attack. She didn’t know what kind of enemy, but Demonaire is fighting it.

Demonaire fly towards them, Elia opened the window to talk to it.

“Get out from the academy, NOW!” Elia nodded at it then turned Lenrick.

“All of you, evacuate from the academy, now! Go to a safe place!” Lenrick stated while pointing his two fingers on his forehead.

“Sarah, please evacuate every student from the academy.” He stated then Elia looked back to Demonaire.

“Auntie!” She called out, but she’s busy fighting with the enemy. She decided run out from the room to follow everyone, when she saw the witch hunter.

“The other witch hunters are now pursuing with their plans, and they have an ally that I can’t fight alone.” He whispered, getting nervous.

“Take me to them.” Elia stated determined and followed the witch hunter to go to the back side of the academy.

When they arrived, there stood two individuals in there. One witch hunter and one assassin. They both turned to them in alarm.

“Kill them!” The witch hunter exclaimed. He dashed straight to Elia, she dodges the attack and steadied herself to prepare from another attack.

“Daemonium perditionem devorans!” Elia screamed, a tornado appeared with a black electricity around it.

The witch hunter enemy got hit by the attack and Elia turned to look at Wolfie. He barks then a lot of chains emerged from him and chained the witch hunter.

“Turbinis vasti super spinas!” Elia screamed again. Flicked towards the assassin, but quickly dodges her attack and escaped.

Elia was about to chase down the assassin, when the witch hunter stops her. She glared at him in question.

“Don’t follow him, he has another ally with him. You might get hurt.” He stated.

Elia calmed down because the witch hunter has a point. She doesn’t want to get hurt because she doesn’t want her family to be worried about her.

“Let’s go to the field. They might be worried about us.” Elia didn’t do anything but follow the witch hunter to go to the field.
