CHAPTER 1 "Eternal Contract"

The war between kingdoms made everyone bet their lives to save themselves. Endless bloodshed. I'm sick of all of this. 

"Kill them all."

A servant ran hastily towards a woman wearing a hood.

"Your Majesty, they have entered this building. We must leave immediately."

"let's go Cecilia."

When we were running, my mother grabbed my hand very tightly. What will happen to me? Am I going to die?. When we running, My mother is being killed by a man. My mother lay on the floor with blood on her body. She raised her  hand and said wiith a sound that made her body tremble.

"Cecilia, you must stay alive. This is your mother last wish. As your name is Cecilia which means light, you must be a light to everyone."

My mother's last words before her last breathed. Left me speechless. I was silent looking at my mother's body, until I saw a man. White hair and sky blue eyes. His gaze was very sharp with a killing air. The man is Heolstor. The Emperor who was nicknamed The Demon Lord.

I keep looking into his eyes. Without thinking what I've done. I will die like everyone else. Maybe it's my destiny.

"Are you Princess Cecilia?"

His cold voice made me unable to take my eyes off him.we were silent until he knelt in front of me.

"We make a contract, then all this will end. Come with me."

Heolstor took Cecilia's hand and led her to a empty room.

"What do you want?, If you really want to kill me. I'm ready to accept it."

I kept trying to let go of his strong grip. While releasing it, He pushed me against the wall and say.

"I not going to kill you."

Cecilia saw Heolstor serious face. They stare at each other, untill Heolstor Let go his grip and sighed. 

"This war has passed too long. Honestly, I am fed up with this war."

"So?"

Cecilia asked Heolstor.

"I've decided. Make a contract with me, if it's like this all this will end. Surely you want this war to end right?"

Cecilia looked Heolstor's eyes and ask again.

"I didn't expect it, so what contract do you want?"

"First come with me."

His big hands lead me towards a horse which is white. The man was just silent and took me to a place in a wilderness. The man is riding the horse very fast. we arrived at a temple. Heolstor leads Cecilia to enter into that shrine-like building.

"Where are we?"

"This is our neglected royal temple. It is neglected because this shrine has a special feature."

I saw the messy shrine building. The temple has creeping roots on its walls. Heolstor led me to the pond inside the temple. The pool had light emanating from it. A beautiful pool with a statue of a woman in the middle.

"We have arrived."

"So, what does our contract have to do with this places?"

Heolstor took out a dagger and made an incision in my hand.

"What are you doing?"

Heolstor didn't answer and put my blood into the pool. I just kept quiet, didn't say anything. He also made an incision in his hand and put the blood in the pool. Instantly the pool gave off a dazzling light.

....

The light had disappeared and the cut on my hand healed instantly. I looked closely at my hand. The cut on my hand was completely healed. How come?. 

"What does all this mean?"

"This pool is the symbol of our kingdom. If we make a contract here. Me and you are bound by an eternal contract. That mean you and me will be under contract until one of us dies."

Bound in contracts until one of us dies?.

"Wait, this is crazy. Bound contract to death you say? I have to break this contract if you say that."

"You can't give up the contract."

"Why?"

Heolstor took Cecilia's hand. 

"If you break the contract by force, you will die."

This is crazy, I thought it was just a simple contract. But this contract has crossed the line. It's better for me to die than to be bound by this Demon Lord's contract.

"You may not accept all of this. But, let's go back to your Kingdom."

I finally followed him back to the kingdom. I keep thinking about this contract, how can there be a contract like this ?. On the way back. Everything looks normal, but what does all this mean? I looked around that there were no enemy troops as well as troops from my kingdom. What really happened?.

"My palace? Looks normal?"

I saw Heolstor and asked him.

"What does all this mean? Everything looks normal. There are no troops attacking each other."

"Didn't I explain everything or not?"

"Not yet!"

"Princess Cecilia!"

A servant call her and ran towards Cecilia. Her name is Laisy, she says everyone is looking for her and everyone is worried about Cecilia. 

"Laisy, you still alive?"

"What is the princess talking about?"

Strange, my servant Laisy is still alive. Even though the last time she died in front of me because protecting me.

"Welcome, Your Majesty."

Laisy salutes Heolstor. How did Laisy know him?. What happened exactly?. To make sure, I grabbed Laisy's hand and whispered with her.

"You know him, Laisy?"

"Of course, he is your future husband."

What?, Future  husband?. Heolstor is not my future husband. Wait a minute, All this happened after making a contract with him. No troops attack each other, my palace looks normal and Laisy is still alive. I really must to ask him for make sure everything.

"Your Majesty, come with me for a moment. I have something to talk about."

Cecilia continued to grab Heolstor's hand and lead him to a quiet place.

"I still don't understand what really happened, please explain more clearly."

Heoltsor's eyes that were sky blue stared at Cecilia's face. He sighed and leaned against the wall. 

"Because of the contract we made things turn out like this. You could say this is a wish that came true."

"Wishes that come true?" Cecilia with a confused face.

"Our wish is this war will end soon and the pool will fulfill our wish. But on condition we have to make a contract that is eternal."

"Ha..., that's why the temple was neglected."

Heolstor nodded his head.

"That's right, only a few people know about the truth of the shrine.I was told by one of the temple guards. But never made the contract. With the blood we put in the pool. The contract is formed and cannot be released until one of the contract makers dies."

I just stared at Heolstor's face. Due to the confusion, I had to think deeply about all the words he said. If all of that is true, should I believe it or not?.

"Then, why do my servants think that you are my future husband?"

"It is a contract maker side effect. The contract maker side effect is different. A contract maker cannot be separated from another contract maker either."

"Why?"

"I don't know how it goes."

....

Cecilia's room.

"This contract?."

That means I will continue to be under a contract with that Demon Lord until I die. Can I survive?. Why didn't he talk to me before making the contract. King sucks.

Cecilia threw down her pillow.

"Troublesome."

I looked around and everything seemed normal. Lastly the royal army destroyed my kingdom. Father and mother how are they?. Are they okay?.

Cecilia ran out of the room and looked for her parents.

"Mother...father...."

I kept looking and calling their names, until I saw them. I ran towards them and called their names.

"Mother.... father...."

"What's the matter, Cecilia?"

I hugged them both. I'm so happy to see them again.

"I miss you guys."
