PROLOGUE

                                                                                                                              { Out of the tender mercies of the Father who art and was and is to come hath bestowed upon us the power to put to null all those who are and are not and do ascend from the pit of darkness }

Two thousand years ago it is said that the gates of hell had been shut until the appointed time, ever since then several high ranking demons had tried to reopen the gates and destroy humanity. In the year 2020 AD, a rip in the boundary between hell and earth was discovered by the church, panic arose amongst the clergymen as they sort to close it before it got out of hand, they prayed and fasted for years on end and were finally given a response from heaven as the angel Gabriel came down and gifted them with a book he called THE VULGATE, joy arose amongst the church as plans were made to close the rip in the gates. On the appointed day, the higher ups of the church gathered to perform the Holy ceremony that would close the rip, but a betrayal occurred amongst the clergymen causing the mass to be stopped abruptly before it was concluded, this singular act broke open the gates of hell, allowing six of the demon princes of hell namely; Mammon, Belphegor, Beelzebub, Satan, Leviathan and Asmodeus to break free from their hellish shackles and bring about hell on earth, this event which was dubbed HELLSCAPE by some mad men occurred in the year 2025 AD. Some parts of THE VULGATE due to the abrupt interruption of the mass and subsequent break of the gates of hell, were torn into several pieces and dispersed across the planet, coming to rest on a select few, these individuals gained abilities based on the scripture page that had come to lay within them, when the church heard about these special people that were being referred to by the people as “ THE CHOSEN” , they immediately set about recruiting them to form a team that they could use to combat the forces of hell, they succeeded in gathering them and began to fight back. the battle raged on for twenty four years and became known as THE FIRST DIVINE WAR, the church seemed to be winning has the chosen gained massive exploits whilst defeating the demon horde that had come to destroy humanity. In the twenty fifth year of THE DIVINE WAR, the six demon princes of hell saw that they were losing the war against humanity and then decided to destroy those that were causing their inherent loss, they targeted the best of the chosen and killed them off, eventually winning the war and defeating the church in the process after which they headed off to wage war in the heavens. 

Twenty five years have passed since the end of the FIRST DIVINE WAR, most of the earth has been run over by hell and it’s quite difficult to distinguish what is of the human world and what is of another realm or place of existence, humanity has been driven to the point of extinction with over six billion dead, the remainder of what was left of the human race is now staying in what are called CITIES OF REFUGE of which there are twelve in existence, namely; LUMERIA, CASABLANCA, ACADIA, WANG DONG, NAIJA, SAKOVIA, ARSHBURG, HAVEN, XENACHIA, ROMA, ADEN and MEDAIN. In the year 2075 AD, the remains of the church created a new team of page holders, some being born with the scripture and others having the page implanted in them, that they had bred and educated ever since the end of the first divine war. splitting them into two teams, the first they called THE DISCIPLES and the second whom they regarded as a special task force they called them THE APOSTLES and charged them with fighting on behalf of humanity to save what was left and most importantly, the retrieval of the remains of THE VULGATE in a bid to close the gates of hell and end the war once and for all. With the emergence of this new team, THE SECOND DIVINE WAR started in earnest and humanity’s last battle for survival began. The year is 2075 AD and this is the beginning of the end, the beginning of humanity’s fight against the forces of hell.

• THE DISCIPLES ARE A TEAM OF PAGE HOLDERS BROUGHT TOGETHER BY THE CHURCH. THEY ARE THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT FIGHTERS IN THE WAR AGAINST HELL, THEY POSSESS A SINGLE SCRIPTURE VERSE AND ARE CAPABLE OF THE ABILITY SPELLED OUT IN THAT SCRIPTURE, THEY HAVE UNDERGONE SEVERE TRAINING TO MASTER THEIR ABILITIES AND ARE VERY PROFICIENT FIGHTERS. THEY NUMBER 144 IN TOTAL AND ARE DIVIDED INTO TEAMS OF 12, WITH EACH TEAM HAVING ITS OWN CAPTAIN. SOME OF ITS MEMBERS GAINED THEIR PAGE FROM BIRTH WHILE OTHERS HAD THEIRS IMPLANTED IN THEM

• THE APOSTLES ARE ALSO A TEAM OF PAGE HOLDERS BROUGHT TOGETHER BY THE CHURCH. THEY ARE THE SPECIAL TASK FORCE OF THE CHURCH AND THE MOST IMPORTANT FIGHTERS IN THE WAR AGAINST HELL, THEY POSSESS DUAL SCRIPTURES AND ARE CAPABLE OF USING BOTH SCRIPTURES EFFECTIVELY, THEY ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS WEAPONS THE CHURCH HAS AGAINST HELL AND AS SUCH ARE TREATED WITH RESPECT. THEY NUMBER 12 IN TOTAL WITH A LEADER. SOME HAVE THEIR PAGE IMPLANTED IN THEM WHILE OTHERS GAIN THEIRS FROM BIRTH. 

• THERE ARE ALSO NORMAL HUMANS WHO ARE CHARGED BY THE CHURCH TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE THE APOSTLES AND DISCIPLES, THEY ARE IN POSSESSION OF HOLY WEAPONS BUT POSSESS NO INNATE ABILITIES, THEY ARE KNOWN AS HOLY KNIGHTS AND SERVE AS BACKUP TO THE APOSTLES AND DISCIPLES . DURING THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE SECOND DIVINE WAR THE CHURCH CAME IN POSSESSION OF THE HOLY GRAIL ( THE CUP SAID TO HAVE BEEN USED BY CHRIST DURING THE LAST SUPPER). USING THE HOLY GRAIL, THE CHURCH WAS ABLE TO ENHANCE THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE HOLY KNIGHTS TO SUPER HUMAN HEIGHTS BY POURING BLESSED WINE INTO THE GRAIL AND MAKING THE KNIGHTS DRINK FROM IT AFTER WHICH THEY UNDERWENT EXTREME TRAINING TO BECOME A FEARSOME GROUP.
