CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

KAILER

I yawned as I opened my eyes .I reached for my phone to check the time .It was already 7:00am and my mom was surely coming back. My life living in hell has just started.God I'm even calling your name yet I don't even know how to pray,I think I should ask Naisy to teach me how to pray so that God can take me out of this deep ocean I'm in. Talking of which, I don't even know what transpired the previous day; all I remembered was that we had a hug,from there I don't know what happened .I don't even know where Naisy is,and what about Layla? I was at the verge of scrambling out of bed when a soft hand held me back.

 "Naisy,what happened? Why are you sleeping in my room?" I started bombarding her with questions as if she owned two mouths. That was after adverting my gaze at her.

"This is the last day we will be staying in the same house,so I thought it was the best idea to sleep in your room since I can't really define what I feel when I'm with you." She said with a sleepy voice and immediately pulled me into a tight warm hug. 

"I love you and I will always do .You have really showed me what sisterhood really is,well yea I might believe Layla as my sister but I have never felt the way I feel when I'm with you." She whispered in my ear and I was taken aback by her words. To be frank I was so elated hearing those words from her.

 "I love you too sister." I whispered back in her ear. 

"But what do you mean when you say this is the last time I see you?" I asked. 

"Go take a bath I will be waiting for you."she blurt out. 

"I want us to have a bath together." I whined. 

"Silly girl,no way,I'm not your boyfriend." She fired back as i laughed. I forcefully pulled her to my bathroom .we both got in a shower after taking off our clothes. It was really fun being with Naisy and I just felt complete while with her. As we bathed we kept splashing water to each other,as Naisy tried to run from the shower she slipped and fell as I laughed my lungs out . 

"Sister please help me." She said faking tears.

 "No way." I said in between laughter.

"Please sister." She pleaded and I obliged.I sprouted out my hand as she placed her soft palm on mine and I pulled her up. After we done bathing . I lend her my favourite clothes to put on,afterwards she helped me to apply my makeup as well as arranging my hair into a bun after drying it. I embraced her into a more tight hug as I felt the urge to do so after we were all through with dressing up and all. 

"Let me go and check on Layla." She said as a drop fell from my eye. 

"What's wrong sister?" She asked concerned. 

"I don't know but I will be fine.go and check on her." I said.

 "Okay." She said,kissed my forehead and walked out. I felt empty again because of her absence. I'm totally addicted to this girl.

 NAISY

 "There is something I don't comprehend. Why do I feel so excited while with Kailer and then feel empty again in her absence? Does the same thing happen to her since a drop fell from her eye immediately after informing her that I'm going to check on Layla? And I have never felt this way before,not even with Layla yet we grew up together. There is really something yet to be revealed here." I said to myself.

 As I got to our room,Layla was still asleep.And as I looked at her face I sensed sadness,but above all I sensed hatred and evil plans deep down her heart. 

"But why?" I asked no one in particular but myself. 

 Layla wake up." I blurt out after pinching her ear as she flinched. "Uhhh!" She yawned as she slowly opened her eyes and sat up straight.

 "Where did you sleep because you were not here ?"she enquired, still rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"I slept at Jeff's apartment."I lied. 

"Oh! Okay.how is he doing?" She asked.

 "What? I thought you hated him, since when did you start caring for him?" I snapped  bulging my eyes at her. 

"Its  just a slip of a tongue,I meant kailer."she said as I gave her a suspicious look.

 " okay,I'm off to do the house chores before Mrs Meliser arrives at 08:00am." By that I walked out.

 "Seems like Layla is up to something. She has really changed and she is hiding something from me .well I had a dream where I saw her living with Meliser,could it be that she is already meeting up with her secretly so as to find out if she is really her sister?" I thought to myself as someone tip toed behind me and covered  my eyes using their palms.

 "Ahhhh! Kailer I know its you." I said but there was no response but only giggles.

 "Sister I might go blind if you keep doing this for a long time." I blurt out as the palms were removed from my eyes. 

"So how did you know that its me?" Kailer asked.

 " I always feel your presence." I said rolling my eyes at her.

"Okay,enough about that. Sister I need you to teach me how to pray."she shot.

 "Silly,don't tell me you don't know how to pray."I teased as she huffed loudly. 

"Of course I don't." 

"Well suit yourself." I teased again as she grabbed both my hands. "Please." She whined.

 "Okay I will teach you in a dream because we don't really have much time to do that now since your mother is coming back." 

"But we can still do it today before we sleep."she insisted.

 "Sister,i really mean it when I say I will teach you through a dream tonight."I said boldly.

 "Okay sister .I love you." 

"I love you too." We hugged again. What's wrong with this often hugs?

 "Okay,let me help you with the house chores." She said after disengaging from the hug as she procceded to wash the dishes. "But sister you..... " 

"No,I just can't watch you do all the work alone; besides,I love being around you." She blurt out and we both flashed wide smiles at each other. After being through with the house chores I then taught her how to cook and she was so jubilant like a person who just won a lottery. 

"This girl means a lot to me." I thought to myself as Layla joined us. Luckily we were already done setting the table. We ate in silence as I and Kailer kept exchanging smiles at each other secretly. Our smiles were interrupted by Mrs Meliser's voice which also made us flinch.

"Good morning girls." She greeted after joining us in the kitchen as she placed her luggage on the floor. We didn't even hear the sound of the main door opening; let alone the sound of her hills. 

"I will take the luggage to your room." I voluntered and took the luggage upstairs and came back. 

"So how have you girls been during my absence?" She asked smiling widely.

"It was kinda boring mam." Layla lied. 

"So you have all missed me huh?" She asked looking at us.

"Yes mom." Layla and I said in unison. 

"Actually I didn't miss you even a bit." Kailer spat out adverting her gaze to Mrs Meliser.

 "Why baby?" 

"So tell me,why did you take Mrs Jenifer's twin girl and refuse to even return her back?mom answer me."Kailer said furiously. "What? Where did you get that from?"

 "Well,let me tell you,I went to where they stay as Jeff was going to introduce me to his parents,but as soon as I mentioned your name they started insulting me and throwing glasses at me." Kailer raved at her mother.

 "Kailer what are you talking about?" Mrs Meliser asked confused. 

"Well,Mrs Jenifer and Mr Asha are Jeff's parents and they currently stay in this country." I explained. 

"Well yes its true,so what?" Mrs Meliser confessed stuffing a spoon full of food in her mouth.

"Mom you are so cruel,where is that girl?"

 "Well,immediately after Jenifer gave her to me,I passed near the kokori dumping side and saw a small baby girl crying beside the dumping side,so I then decided to grand her company by leaving Jenifer's child there and walked out of the place ." 

"Mom,you are so cruel!" Kailer exclaimed furiously.

 "Kokori dumping side?" Layla and I said in unison as we exchanged looks among us.

"Yes.Kailer did you pay the girls?and where is all the money Jeff has been giving you?" 

"I didn't pay them,and Jeff hasn't been giving me money ever since you left. But above all I have already cut ties between us,I'm no longer going to fulfil your dirty plans mom"

" so I see,so this two girls have been feeding you with this behavior huh? This nonsense? You now have the guts to talk back at me as if I'm your age-mate huh?" 

"Take it the way you wanna take it mom." Kailer said  already up from her chair. 

"Look,both of you get out of my house and never set your foot here again...get out." Mrs Meliser  yelled as we all jerked back in fear.

 "Mom!" kailer shouted.

 "Get out, and you Kailer,don't you dare get involved in this."  She said harshly as she grabbed me and Layla dragging us out of her house.

 "Sister bye." Kailer yelped to me as she watched both of us exit the gate, through the window. Tears began rolling down her cheeks endlessly as she squat down leaning against the wall. She then headed to the main door to lock it.As she turned swiftly so as to walk to her room she spotted a shiny metal on the floor. She slightly squatted towards it and reached for it.

 "Naisy's blue ring,oh my word! How will I find her so as to give it back to her because I know very well that this is her protection? I don't even know where they previously stayed." She muttered under her breath. She then got up and rushed to her room. She took out her jewellery box and shove the ring in. She later on put the box back in her secret  place so that her mother  won't see it. "What a cruel mother I have." She cussed under hear breath as she slumped on bed; facing the ceiling.
