CHAPTER FIRTHTEEN

LAYLA

"Ummmm....please come in." I uttered but she did not even move an inch. She also stared intensely back at me; baffled.

"Liser."she called. 

" hey,I'm not Lisar I'm Layla okay?can you at least come in?" She made her way in and slowly slumped down on a couch still looking at me. 

"Ummm,please forgive my manners, I'm Melliser,I just came to see Kailer." She said. I was about to respond when Naisy interrupted me.

 "Layla have you seen my......." Naisy said but paused after staring at both of us. 

"Layla?wait.....who is who....?I mean both of you look so much alike, what is going on here?" Naisy said confused.

 "I.......I just came here to....." Melliser stuttered and luckily got rescued by Kailer who just banged into the sitting room without even knocking.

 "Melliser!" Kailer exclaimed happily as she embraced Meliser into a tight hug.

"I'm so happy to see you."Kailer cooed.

" hey,and I missed you so much."Melliser said with a smile; a forged smile to be precise.

 "Naisy can you prepare some food for us?" Kailer whined like a child as if Naisy was gonna say say no while she just rolled her eyes at Kailer and headed to the kitchen. 

NAISY

 While I was preparing tomato stew and dirty rice,love me now song  by John Legend played on my phone indicating an incoming call. 

"That same number again,let me just ignore it,I will keep on ignoring it until the person gets tired of calling me." I said in my mind and decided to shove it back to my jean pocket when I received a message from the very same number. 

"Be careful in whatever you do and don't forget to keep your promise,don't ever allow anyone to take the blue ring away from your finger."I read the message and gasped. 

" who is this person?and how did she or he know that I'm putting on the blue ring?" I muttered under breath.My heart thumped like an engine. After I have done preparing food I went back to the sitting room and placed the food on a table as we all munched our food.I was in deep thoughts thinking about the calls and a message from the strange number,on the other hand thinking about this Melliser girl who looks just like Layla when Kailer jolted me out of my reverie.

 "Naisy are you okay?" Kailer asked concerned.

 "Yes,I am. Its just that I need to take a nap,a slight headache is bothering me." I spat and scrambled on my feet and headed upstairs to my room. 

KAILER

 "Girls I will see you again next time,I have to go now." Melliser said as she also stood up.

 "Its okay girl,you are always welcome here." I chided as she gave both I and Layla a hug.she headed to the door and give Layla a we need to talk look and walked out.

 "Uhhh! I'm feeling so exhausted."I plumped down on a couch. "Just go to your room and rest." Layla advised. 

"But wait Layla." I maintained an eye contact with her."I don't really know about your point of view,but Naisy's behaviour is suspicious, I think there is something bothering her but not ready to share it with us."I added wearily. 

"I agree with you but don't worry,I will talk to her." 

"Please do." I persuaded. 

"Done deal."she spat.

 " guess what Layla."I flashed a smile. 

"What?"she probed. 

"I'm going over to Jeff's house tomorrow,he will be introducing me to his parents." I exclaimed happily. 

"Wow! I'm happy for you,and I wish you all the luck girl." Layla said.

 "Thanks, I think we should go and sleep since we can't watch movies without Naisy,see you tomorrow girl." I said as we weaved good night to each other and walked to our separate rooms. 

LAYLA

 I woke up early in the morning because of the strange dream I had.I then decided to wake Naisy up so as to tell me about what my dream indicated since she was pretty good at interpretation of dreams although she hated to admit it. 

"Naisy." I whispered in her ear as her eyes fluttered open. "Hey,why are you waking me up Layla?" She uttered slowly with a sleepy voice. 

"I had a strange dream,please help me to interpret it." I pleaded.

"Okay,I'm all ears."she blurt out as she closed her eyes again and snuggled under the blanket.

 " Naisy,I dreamt about our late mother,she said something like I have a purple mark on my back,and there is another girl with the same mark as mine,and that she wishes me good luck on my new journey of life.she said another girl is going to try killing me but she won't  succeed since my sister will rescue me,are you the one who is going to rescue me since you are my sister? "I explained.

 " argggh!Layla......Layla......Layla.....open your spiritual eyes okay? I told you I hate interpreting dreams."she whined still closing her eyes.

 "Please help me,I'm confused." I insisted.

 "Fine." She finally agreed,facing her back at me. "Okay.Layla you do have a purple mark on your back,its right on your spinal cord.The girl who has the same mark as yours and on the same spot is......" She paused.

 "Who?" I probed.

 "Layla don't disturb me." She childed.I almost forgot that she hates being interrupted while interpreting dreams. 

"Layla the truth is,Melliser is your sister,if you wanna confirm that then you will have to check her back, i don't know how you will do that; but you have to. Your real mother named you Liser,you are no longer going to work hard as a maid because your mother is rich and your sister owns a company,the person who is going to rescue you from death is Melliser; your blood sister,as for the girl who is going to try to kill you I don't see her,she is facing her back at me." She shot.

 "How did you know that Meliser called me Liser?and about the purple mark you are lying Layla,and how on earth would my biological  mother be rich?this is hurting me more than I ever thought,it hurts Naisy." I began bombarding her with questions as my eyes were already teary. 

"Have you ever checked your back?tell  me the truth." She asked still backing me.

"No." I admitted.

 "So stop saying I'm feeding you with lies yet you haven't even checked your back,I only told you what I saw." She said and this time around her eyes were wide opened. I just looked at her still baffled. 

"Is this sister of mine named Naisy a witch or what? I mean, she has something that always amazes me." I uttered in my mind. "I'm going to have a bath,then start doing the house chores while you rest because you really need that rest,and yes don't forget to check your back sister." She primped as she flashed a smile at me; kissed my forehead and headed to the bathroom.

KAILER

 I slightly opened my eyes and reached for my phone. I then checked the time.

 "Its already 8:00am and I should be eating breakfast now." I thought to myself. I then scrambled out of bed and dashed to the bathroom. After I was through with my hygiene process  I wore a red gown with black heels.I applied my make up and smeared my mouth with a pink lip stick. I let my hair fall and put on my watch,afterwards  set off to the kitchen as I walked downstairs elegantly to meet the girls in the kitchen.

"Good morning girls." I greeted as I got into the dining room. They were already eating.

 "Hey girl, you look absolutely beautiful." Naisy remarked. 

"And surely Jeff is gonna drool as he sees you." Layla chirped back as I pulled out a chair so as to seat. 

"Enough about that girls, please let's just eat." I primped as they laughed in unison, I was left with no choice but to join the in the laughter also. As we munched  our food in silence,the door chimered.

 "I will get it." Layla volunteered and rushed to the main door. She opened and it revealed Jeff.

"Hey, come in." She said already pissed off by just his sight. 

"No,thanks. Please tell Kailer to hurry up I will be waiting for her in a car." By that he set off heading towards his car and hopped in. "Damn! I so abhor  this guy." Layla muttered under her breath as she headed back to the kitchen.

 "Kailer,Jeff is waiting for you in his car, he said you should hurry."Layla stated as soon as she got into the kitchen.

 "Okay, bye girls." I took my hand bag and walked out.

"Naisy,I'm a bit concerned. When is Kailer going to pay us? I mean it has been four months now without our payment." Layla blurt out as she shrugged. 

"I don't really think we will ever get paid,let's just accept it since we are at least able to eat healthy food, and Layla you can't be expecting Kailer to grand us the remuneration; she buys everything for us,the hospitality she has been showing us is above par, I don't even feel like I'm a maid in this house ." Naisy shot back as Layla smirked. Their silence was interrupted by Love me now song sang by John legend.

 She quickly snatched the phone from the table before Layla sees the caller. 

"Arggggh! God who does this number belong to?" She muttered under her breath. 

"Naisy answer the call." Layla said boldy jolting her out of her reverie. 

"Naisy who is the caller? don't lie."Layla persuaded. 

"Its... It was Kailer calling but she just hung up." She lied and pretended to be okay while Layla just  arched her eyebrows at Naisy.

 "Keep on lying to me,if that is the case then suit yourself." She stood up and walked out through the main door,only God knows where Layla was heading to.
