Prologue

A few minutes later David got up and looked down at me.

“I'll get something to drink. What do you want? ”

I thought for a moment.

"A Coke, please." He smirked before nodding.

"I thought so."

I smiled as he turned and walked away.

A second later I noticed someone sitting very close to me. I looked to the side and saw that a girl had sat down next to me. She looked me up and down.

"Hello." That was the first thing that came to mind.

"Hello," she said back, continuing to stare at me.

"Are you really his little cousin?" She wanted to know.

I nodded slightly - she was really weird.

"Aha ... and since when has he been dragging his little cousin around with him?"

Oh man, that was a bitch.

"As of today!" I replied bitingly, because she was getting on my nerves.

"Hey, I don't hope you turn on my little cousin," I heard David's voice. The girl immediately moved away from me and gave an exaggerated smile.

"Of course not. I just had a chat with her. ”

Well, I wouldn't have called it a conversation now.

"Of course," replied David, sat down next to me and handed me the glass of Coke with a smug smile.

“Don't pay any attention to Jess. It always jumps in a triangle when I or one of the other guys lug in a new one, ”he grinned.

"Aha." So she was jealous of me. Too funny.

I had to grin back until David turned to the side and I followed his gaze. I looked straight into those wonderful golden eyes again.

"Throw Jacki over there," I heard David call, so the man took the Jack Daniel's bottle from the table and threw it over. Fortunately, David caught her. He poured his glass full and then took a long swig from it. I had always thought that you would mix stuff like that with Coke or something, but they both drank it straight.

When David got up again, it didn't take a minute for this Jess to sit down with me again. But she didn't speak to me.

I looked in a different direction and made one busy.

"That was clear," I heard her hiss next to me, so I turned to her.

"Take a look at this." She pointed past us. Then I saw that David was sitting on one of the armchairs with a blonde and making out with her. From here it looked like they wanted to eat each other up.

I grimaced in disgust and instead looked at the chair next to me, where I met those twinkling eyes again. He noticed the look on my face, so he glanced at David and began to smile. Then he looked at me again and rolled his eyes. Immediately I had to smile too. I had never seen a man so handsome before. He had dark brown hair, a modern longer cut to the chin and a three-day beard. He wore a white shirt with the top three buttons undone so that you could see the beginning of his well-trained chest. His upper arms weren't too bad either. He also wore black jeans and dark brown boots. A leather bracelet adorned his wrist and a thick silver ring adorned his thumb.

"Ah,

I see ... you like our heartbreaker, of course." I took my eyes off the said "heartbreaker" and looked at Jess in shock.

"What?" I asked, completely confused.

“You got me right, honey. It's best to get that out of your head right away. Enough others have broken their teeth on him. ”

I still looked at her confused.

“He's a loner! You never see him with any woman. He lets everyone down. “But now I was interested in what this Jess was saying.

"Why?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

“Apparently none is good enough for him. He probably thinks he's something better than everyone else. Well, with his looks, this behavior is no wonder. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my best friends, but he's just what he is. Maybe he lost his interest in the world of women because of his ex, I know. ”She shrugged her shoulders again.

"His ex?" I couldn't stop questioning her.

"Yep, his sloppy ex. She had something with everyone. Wrapped it around his finger again and again until he was fed up and dumped her. But these are all just rumors. I think he just didn't feel like having a bitch as a girlfriend. Not only did she act like that, she looked like that too. But apparently he likes that. How old are you? ”

“ Um ... Sixteen! ”I was briefly in thought, because I found what she was telling me to be pretty intense. Now I saw that she was grinning at me.

"Sixteen? You can forget about it right away! I am seventeen. You're still a baby against him. He's twenty-one. So please. ”She grinned arrogantly at me again.

My gaze went to him again and then I realized that he was looking at me too, but not in my face, but at a point below.

I looked down at myself and noticed that you could see the waistband of my hold-up stockings because my skirt had slipped up a bit.

Immediately I pulled my skirt lower and sat down differently. He just looked at me, even when I looked at him again. Apparently he wasn't embarrassed that he had stared at my leg. Incomprehensible.

He took a sip from his glass with relish without taking his eyes off me. A little later he got up and did not come back.

A few days later I went out of my aunt's house one evening. It was getting dark. Snow had been announced for two days, but none came.

I looked at the sky - a snowflake hit me right on the tip of the nose and I had to smile.

As I went a few steps further, it began to snow harder. I had to laugh and stopped. As if the snow was waiting for me.

I looked up at the sky again, stretched my arms out sideways and slowly turned in a circle. I didn't even hear anyone approaching me on the gravel path.

"Hey?" I heard a male voice say.

I averted my gaze from the sky and stared into sparkling gold eyes.

I immediately stopped dead while my heart also seemed to skip with shock. I just stared at him. I was really embarrassed that he saw me like that. Now he was looking up at the sky too.

"Is there anything special up there?" He asked, amused. I felt he was getting closer to me, so I just looked up at the sky again and smiled.

"The snow", I answered him with a laugh and then he started to laugh too.

I looked down again and saw that he was now very close in front of me.

My heart quickened instantly. I had to lift my head a bit because it was almost a head taller than me. Our eyes met again.

"Jolina, right?" I nodded. He even remembered my name.

"I'm Nick," he said quietly, without taking his eyes off me.

"Hi." I was acting really stupid, but he smiled at me anyway.

"Hi," he replied so that I smiled at him too. Then he raised his hand and gently brushed a damp strand from my face. It was snowing harder than before.

"Thanks," I stuttered.

He came closer and closer to me until the tips of our noses almost touched.

"May I?" Whispered Nick. I wasn't sure what he meant, even though I felt a tingling sensation in my stomach when he said that.

I just nodded because I didn't dare to say anything now because I was afraid that I would start to stutter again. But before I knew it, he suddenly put his lips on mine.

Well, that was the first time he'd kissed me - back in the snow - and the beginning of our relationship. It had been five months since then. But strangely enough, I had the feeling that our relationship was doomed that evening. From month to month it got worse and worse with Nick. At first, of course, I didn't know that he - next to me - was only thinking of drugs.
