Rumors?

Walking by the canteen before the first lecture I saw the trio. I no longer sit with them during the lectures but we did share the lab table. I stopped sharing the same bench with them after about a week. Not because i had issue with them or something but simply because it didn't clicked.

All three of them were giggling. Ahhhhh another gossip. I walked towards them.

"Hi guys, whats up?" - i asked

"Hi kavya" all three of them in unison

"What's the news?" I jumped directly on the point

"We don't know. You tell us." - saachi said pinching me on my elbow.

What?! Is this something related to me? I wondered.

"We are late for the lecture"- i said looking the time in my phone

Saachi rushed towards the class grabbing my hand -"will continue this conversation later for sure" She said

The trio sat on the first bench of the middle row while I sat on the last second bench ,behind June and joey.

They were the love birds of the class. Not the typical love birds but only couple in the class. Joey seems nice, he plays musical instrument, our tabla guy, and i always wondered what was he doing in this field.

Beside joey sat a really skinny girl with curly hairs who was angrily looking at her phone with tears in her eyes.

Lectures went by draining our energy.

"Why is this trio looking at me with "that" look?" I thought. Whats wrong? I wondered.

After lectures,I walked towards the lab talking on the call with rosh and shaggy explaining how tight my routine is and i am not ignoring them. But those stuburn ass never listened. 

"I told you I am not ignoring you" i said for the 100th time.

"Don't lie, you got new friends" complained shaggy dramatically.

"Yeah got new friends" added rosh. Words barely recognisable as her mouth was stuffed with something. She was eating non-stop.

"Shaggy come on, i wasted my whole lunch break just arguing with you" i replied angrily.

"Yeah, wasted. I am wasting your time." Another complain.

"I am going in my lab now, talk to you later." I sighed and hang up on them.

 Placing my bag on the lab table, I sat with the trio. Few minutes passed by in silence, something was wrong, these girls not talking at all for this long?

"What's up guys?!" I said while working on my practical.

"Kavya? Have you made any new friends here?"- afreen spoke with a smirk.

Afreen was bold and really opinionated. She knew where to hit and when to hit.

There was no point in lying to them.

"Yes. Kevin and I went to grab tea together yesterday."- i casually spoke.

" Ohh yeah?. As in date?" - immediately spoke saachi moving towards me.

I glanced over to Kevin's table who was already looking at me as if he knew what we are talking about.

"NO."- I said boldly to make my point.

" It was a casual hang out."

"Didn't ricky asked you out first?" - spoke saachi.

"No. I never spoke to him. He never approached." - i explained.

Why are people talking so much about ricky, look at him. I felt bad for him.

"So how was your date?" Asked afreen raising her eyebrows.

" I already told you it wasn't a date" - i said rolling my eyes. I returned back to my practical.

I look at Kevin's table, he was having an intense conversation with his buddies.

The trio already knew i was with kevin yesterday, by the looks on their face even before i told them. That means someone else did.

I immediately texted kevin....

"We need to talk" 

And looked at him angrily.

After few secs, he noticed i was looking at him, he smiled. I pointed towards his phone. He read my text, while i still looked at him angrily.

"Sure. After the lab?." - he replied.

I continued my practical work without again looking at him. Occassionally talking to trio, answering there curious questions about you know what.
