Am I in heaven? Chap 25

Two weeks later

Her eyes snapped open. Her vision blurred. She quickly touched her face which was wet from sweat. She was shocked, something changed. She quickly touched her face again,she did not understand what is going on. She blinked several times to cleared her vision. She looked around the room in confusion. She furrow her face" wasn't I dead?" am I a spirit now? oh! I must have wander for a long time" Susan said to herself. Her head throb in pain from all her thought. Something click in her mind . 

She wonder if a ghost can feel herself or even feel thirst. She look around the room again for water. She feel so thirst right now. She manage to sit. She groan in pain now she knows that she is alive." Ghost can not feel pain right" She asked herself.  She now confirmed she is much alive but where is she ? who saved her or did Bob decided to let her leave she shook her head at the thought. She has clearly see for herself how cruel he his. So he can't be the one. She manage to stand up from the small bed she occupied. She tripped once before she get to the table where water was placed. She gulped the water in a go. She later spot a small mirror at a corner. 

Susan picked it up to see how she looked like. She gasped loudly while cupping  her mouth to stop her voice. Tears welled up in her eyes, she is alive! she is alive. She cried a tear of joy. She can not believe it she checked her body ,her wounds are healing up, her cloth changed and her hair cut low. Her tears flow not stop, she manage to go back to the bed and lay down. Her body has not fully recovered, she still feel sore all over.

" My lady, you are awake?" she heard a man happy voice at the door. 

She was startled , she nearly fall off the bed. She was so afraid. 

" easy, easy lady. I won't hurt you calm down" the man patted her on the shoulder to calm her nerve and wipe her tears with his sleeves.

Susan calm down when she heard the assurance in the man's voice. She let out a sob when she saw how caring the man was to her.

" My name is Kelvin, I am the  one that has been taking care of you for the past two weeks." The man said as he helped her up.

Susan just continue to look at the man, she wanted to see of he is a good person or not.

" I know..a lot must be going on in your mind and you wanted to asked a lot of questions but let me fixed what you will eat first. I can see you have finish the water, it shows how hungry you are. Just give me five minute I will serve you food" Kelvin stood up from the only chair available in the room. His hand is not the door knob when he heard Her voice.

" how long have you been taking care of me?" she asked gently.

"Two weeks " he  answered without turning back.

Three minute later he brought hot porridge with some fruit for her to eat. Truly she has been very hungry, she wanted to lift her hand to take up the spoon but the sharp pain on her right hand stopped her from doing so. She groan loudly in pain.

" Sorry my lady, Sorry. you can not use that hand now that is where you have been shot, wait let me feed you." Kelvin said to Susan whose face was flushed red because of pain.

The man fed her with the food and cut the apple for her. Susan feel much better than before when she eat. She has been sleeping for a long time without food. 

" I want to take my bath" She said to the man . She feel so sweaty and stinking.

" no, my lady! you can not do that now. All your wound have not completely healed we can't afford to have it infected. ' Kelvin answered with so much concern.

" my name is Susan. I don't like the way you call me."

" Alright, if that is what you want. Let me leave you to rest now. " 

" Where are you going? do you want to leave me here?!" she asked. she is so afraid to be alone now.

" don't worry Susan, I will step outside so you can have enough rest. when you wake up we can talk very well" 

Susan nod her head like an obedient child she lay on the bed and close her eyes to sleep. not long after she drift off to dream land.

Kelvin stepped outside. he brought out his burner phone from his pant pocket and call the one who task him.  " Hello boss, she is awake now"

" She is awake?!" asked the person from the other end. " how is she?."

" from the look of things, she is fine but she seem afraid to be alone. I think she is traumatised." he answered truthfully.

" She will be, that is expected. you have to stay with her for a couple of days till she is fully recovered, then your work will be done. thank you. don't contact me unless its necessary but I will deliver this good news to the right person so you can receive your payment when you are done." the man disconnect the call without waiting for him to reply .

Kelvin was happy when he heard the latter part. He put the phone in his pocket and roam around the area.

Knock! knock!

"Come in" Bob replied from his office.

" Sir , I don't understand this letter sir." Emily asked him with irritation 

Bob did not lift his face from the file he is working on. " everything is written there Lady. there is nothing too hard for you to understand. " he said with indifferent.

" Sir, you can't do this!, what did I do to deserve this letter. you can't terminate my appointment just like that" Emily complained. She has already prepare for this. For two weeks now things has turn sour in once lively company. Almost everyone loyal to the Richard are sacked.

" Tell me why I can't sack you Emily? are you the boss or am I the boss here? look at me clearly I am not one if the Richards that tolerate all of your stupid act. So, submit all the company document in your possession and leave.

" I beg your pardon sir! I will not tolerate the word stupid because clearly am doing the right thing for the progress of the company" she retorted. She will not hold back since he want to sack her.

Bob chuckle seeing her agitation. " whatever" he shrugged.

Emily hiss and turn back to leave. Bob was so annoyed with that " Emily, don't over step your boundary, just because I let you be. I am not a fool that will not know what you have done...."

Emily back stiffed when she heard that, she was afraid he might know that she saved Susan.

".…... I know you are the one that showed our pictures to Susan. I let you succeed because it is time I quit my acting. now that I have what I wanted I don't need you around you will easily betray me for your dead boss. I spared your life because you indirectly helped me but if you are not careful you will go to where I sent your lovely boss. " Bob said with a mockery tone .

Emily leg was glued on the spot, she cannot believe what she just heard. She cursed her self for indirectly having hand in her boss suffering. Now that she think about it, the person she hired did not have any problem in capturing a good picture for her. So this bastard and son of a bitch know all along but pretend to know nothing. She can not help but cursed this devil countless time in her heart but she count herself lucky at the same time.

" If you know what is good for you. stop asking question and disappear from here before I change my mind ."

Emily glared at him with hatred before she silently leaver the office. She went to the HR office and complete all the necessary document and leave the damn place for good.

 Kelly's mansion

Cling! cling! the sound of cup echo throughout the living room. Everyone including the maid are celebrating . There are foods and wines available for everyone consumption.

Mrs Kelly sat beside her son and Betty. She is in a very good mood. This as be a double celebration for their family. First the long time dream accomplished and secondly she will become a grand mother soon. She look lovingly at her new daughter in law.

" my dear , you have to take fruit juice, I  will let the maid serve you orange juice now" Mrs Kelly said to Betty who has lifted  a wine cup to her mouth.

"oh!! thanks mother! I have totally forgot am not alone anymore." Betty said shyly.

" Its alright, you just have to be more self conscious next time. I don't want anything to happened to my grandchild." She said dotingly but it has a warning undertone.

Betty did not miss the warning in the statement she placed her hand on her stomach she too did not want anything to happened to this baby at all. She will not want all her effort to go to waste, she has suffered so much in this relationship and it is time to enjoy for the rest of her life.

"Well done!! Son, am so proud of you. You achieved what we can not achieved for over thirty years and proud of you Bob" Mr Kelly said with pride.

He turned to the two officer with them, I have forwarded your share if the deal into your account. We are very glad working with you. He stood up to shook hand with the two officers. 

The officers' phone beep with notification that indicate their bank account credited with Three million dollars each. The officers gladly shook hand with Mr Kelly. They have bright smiles on their faces. They cannot imaging stopping a search for the missing person to fetch this much, how much more if they do something more. They ate and drink to their fill before they excuse themselves and leave the family alone to continue their celebration.

" Daddy, I have contact the lawyer for the  merging of the company but he said he might need the certificate of company registration before he can do it." Bob gave them the report.

" That shouldn't be the problem now. Just check the office, especially the small safe you will find all the company's confidential document there. I remember Richard use to keep them there. " Mr Kelly replied.

" I have checked practically everywhere even the safe is empty"

" I don't see any problem with that. if you can not find it just leave it. no one will come to fight you over it. Ever since The bank evict madam Richard from her home no one knows where she is, she might has well died somewhere remembered we have poisoned her already. So put your mind at rest" Mrs Kelly chimed in.

"You are right. Don't bother yourself and more so if you change the name people might suspect us but if you leave it they will think you are still waiting for your wife to return. They will even term you good husband of the century." They all laughed out at his joke.
