" Is she pregnant? "

Mr and Mrs Kelly sat in their private living room relaxing with maids massaging their shoulders. They are snacking on the special cooking baked specially by  Mrs Kelly  with a red wine. The two of them are watching  drama on the television but Mr Kelly just sat there to accompany his wife, his attention was on the news paper he is reading.

He have zero interest on drama, he see them as a wasting of time. The only thing that can catch his interest is news, business news in quote. Suddenly his phone rang he picked it up from the stool next to him he smiled when he saw the caller, his son is calling him. He gesture for the maid to leave them alone so he can have some private talk with him it is better to do that in the absence of the maid no one can be trusted.

The maids know what that means they quickly leave that vicinity, they will not overstep their boundary. Whoso ever caught around that area when they are having their private talk is in deep trouble and no one want that. 

"Wait! " Mrs Kelly said

The two maids paused turn around to wait further instruction from her.

"Go and join others in the kitchen and prepare dinner." she said.

Mr Kelly motion his wife to mute the television before he answer the call, he put the call on hands free so his wife can hear Bob loud and clear.

"Hello son! how are you?"

"Am fine dad, how is mum;"  Bob reply from the other end

"She is here. Son I expect you to be here to celebrate the first achievement." Mr Kelly said happily.

"No dad! I can't come over today, I will have to go home today but if you don't mind we can toast right now ;"  Bob replied

"That sound nice , we can do that ."The two of the picked up their wine glass including Bob on the other end , Mr and Mrs Kelly clicked their glasses and toast to better achievements while Bob and Betty also click their own.

After downing their wine they all laugh out loud.

This time Mrs Kelly speak ; " Bob when are you coming over so I can order the maid to prepare your favourite dish for you, you deserve something special."

"Hahaaaa! Mum, will you stop spoiling me already?" He said laughing

"I can not stop spoiling my baby, I have not done anything at all ."She answer with a doting tone.

" is daddy still there? "

"Yes, he is hear listening; "

"Am here son." Mr Kelly answered with a warn smile

"As I was saying I need to go home for sometime since you have already received the alert,  want to make sure she did not notice a thing so it will give me time to carry out my second step." Bob replied. They two of them nodded in understanding.

"Alright son,just be fast with whatever you want to so, it's been over a year already. You must get rid of that rubbish so we can face our life we want grandchildren soon." Mr Kelly replied.

"Don't worry yourselves, your wish will come to pass soon. more so, we will visit you with the good news." Bob said with smile.

"Is she pregnant already, when are you visiting us?" Mrs Kelly asked almost shouting.

Bob covered his ear on the other line ,he smiled imaging her mother desirous face.

" I can't answered that for now, she will be the one to tell you that. So don't stress yourselves." He answered in amusement

"You brat! how could you made me anxious? oh my poor heart! " Mr Kelly hold his chest in jokingly.

They all laughed till their stomach hurt.

" Ok! dad don't worry I will sooth the painful heart soon. I have to go now ,bye."

"Bye son"they said in unison before Bob disconnect the call.

( Susan that stood by the door heard every thing they said,she knows she is not the one they are talking about who could that be? who is pregnant for her husband she asked herself inwardly, she wanted to open the door and let them know she heard them, her hand that want to push the door paused. She must not act on impulse, she is a changed person and again what money are they talking about where did Bob get the money he transferred to his parent. She continue to listen until they disconnect the call.)

They look at each other with a loving smile before Mrs Kelly teased her husband; James you see your life what you can not achieve since all this year look at how capable your son is, just within three month..... their happy conversation was interrupted by the voice of Susan, they were stunned they were not expecting her at all. Mr Kelly whispered into his wife ear; " did she say she is coming today? " he asked

Mrs Kelly just shook her head. She did not want to say anything or word did not come

 out of her mouth.she called her earlier she said weekend and clearly today is still Thursday. They quickly compose themselves but inwardly the are both have a bad feeling when Susan entered.

Susan entered the living room with phone on her ear she was talking to someone on phone or let say pretending to talk to someone, she must act as if she just came by, if they can pretend she is also the best at it, she is no longer the naive girl that will burst on any slight provocation. She need her clear head right now.

After like two minute of talking to invisible on phone, she ended the call. She hugged her father in law briefly before she embrace her mother in law in a tight hug ;" I miss you so much mum."

The two oldies eye themselves confusedly, they are not sure if she heard them or not but the way she is behaving just now could she have heard their conversation.

Mrs Kelly snap out of her world and return her hug.

"You naughty  brat, so you won't come here if I did not call you." Mrs Kelly said with a smile that did not reach her eyes.

 Susan noticed all their expression, she knows they are guilty with the way they behaves right now, her father in law is sweating profusely even with the air condition turn on while her mother in-law heart is beating fast against her chest when she hug her just now.

She did not let her emotion surface at all; "mummy, am so so so sorry. You know how busy I am. it is not easy managing that big company you know. "she said apologetically.

"Daddy are you angry too?"she asked her father in law.

Mr Kelly wiped his sweat and his face that has pale a little relaxed, when he heard the way she talked. He was convinced she did not hear a thing at least if they want to do something, they must not get caught in the process ; "No my dear, how can I be angry when I know you are always busy, but am a little bit angry with you dear."

" oh! dad ;" Susan chuckle

"am just angry you did not find time to visit us but not anymore. Now, we have you here. Thank you for visiting we the old people."  Mr Kelly jested 

They all roar with laughter

"You are not old at all, the two of you are still very young and strong like a bull ." Susan also teased.

" Now am glad you are here. we have a lot of ladies talk to do. Don't tell me you are in haste." Mrs Kelly said leaning into her chair.

"Thanks mum, thanks dad , I won't run away this time but can we fixed a time for weekend? so, I will have enough time to talk even shopping. my treat!" Susan suggested

Mrs Kelly's face twinkle when she heard shopping. who did not love shopping even at her age. "Come on its my treat not yours." she counter.

"Mum no, my treat and we will visit my friends spa or hot spring;" Susan answered

Mr Kelly look at the two bantered; "oh! what about me? am I invisible now? "he chimed in.

" Alright then we will visit the hot spring and shopping, but dad we can drag you to the spa later " the two women laughed when they see his ugly face. He hate going there but was usually drag by his wife.

"Mum. am famished. let me go to the kitchen to see what the are preparing."  Susan stood up to head to the kitchen.

"No! no my dear, I know you came directly from the office and I know you must be tired. I have order the kitchen to prepare the dinner just sit let me check on them. "Mrs Kelly quickly stand up and head to the kitchen.

"Darling just let them hurry up with the food ."Mr Kelly said after her

"Susan you must take care of your health, please do not over work." Mr Kelly advised 

" Thanks dad I will. " Susan answered with a smile. She look around to get any clue or something but she see nothing that look suspicious.

Mrs Bob on her way to the kitchen  she stood on the hallway  to text her son. She did not want to call him now anything can happen. She won't want what they have planned for over a decade go to waste.

{Baby, your wife is here, I think she over heard our discussion, you must do something fast😱😱😱 } 

{Mum!!!, you mean Susa is there with you?} 

{Yes, she is here right now, she came in right after we drop your call } 

{ shit!!!! but did she frown talk or throw a tantrum or did her expression changed? Bob texted back}

{she did. of of that, am sorry I can't read her, her face is full of smiles but my instinct tells me she heard something }

{ don't worry. um since she is normal I believes she heard nothing but notwithstanding I will go something this night, just behave normal around her}

By the time she went back to the living room Susan has already left with the excuse that

she has to do something important.

"Hubby? where is she?" Mrs Kelly asked immediately she stepped into the living room.

"She left after she received a call, she said is work related so I think is important but she promise to come back for dinner may be another day. " Mr Kelly answers.

"Hubby do you think she heard us?" she asked with a worry tone.

"No!  I don't think she heard a thing. You know how she usually behaves when she is angry. If she heard us we will not be the one sitting here she would have scatter everywhere with her temper."

" I know it just my instinct but I have informed Bob he will know what to do anyways"  she replied with a sigh

"Dinner is set let's go eat." the two of them stand up and leave for the dinning Hall.
