2020-10-19 02:42:33Susan was walking beside the road after the close of the day. It has been raining since afternoon, she hold tightly onto her umbrella. She has been going home on her own for sometime now to avoid her boss, she can not handle all his confession.
Her heart is more than broken to give a random person a chance. She shook her head at the thought. She pick up her pace in order to get to the bus stop in time. She needed to get home and eat. The little money with her can not be wasted.
Swash ! Swash! The sudden splash of mud water on her brought her back to life. She look at herself covered from head to toe in dirty water including her umbrella. She was still looking at the vehicle that splash her when the vehicle reverse to her side. Clara wind down her glass and look coldly at her.
" Shameless bitch, how I wish to break your legs with my car instead of this! . You think you are more beautiful and seduce my Jerry? dream on!." she chuckle at her and zoom off, splashing another dirty water on her.
Susan look at the departing vehicle until she can not see it again. She fold her umbrella just when God will have it she saw a cab coming and quickly enter it. She told the driver her address. " Here! take my child clean yourself. "
The elderly driver said to her offering her a towel. She smile grateful at him. She collect the towel and clean herself up.
" Thank you so much sir. Am grateful for this."
" You are welcome my child." The two talk about everything until the car pull up at her home.
" Thank you so much sir. Am grateful." The driver smile at her and drive away. Susan went inside her shared apartment she was startled when she saw someone sitting inside.
She made for the door to run out but she paused, look around the house to grab something. She saw the bottle of oil she used in the morning on the sofa. She took it and move courageously to the sleeping figure.
" Wake up! Idiot what are you doing here? " she said kicking him . Mark woke up with a start. He landed on the floor, he did not expect someone to wake him up like that. " Wait! wait! why are you kicking me ? " Susan moved closer to him to hold his collar.
" I said what are you doing here? who are you? what do you want? "
" wohooo! easy little cat! Am a friend not a foe." he said raising up his hand in surrender. " If you are a friend how did you get in here?" He dip his hand in his pant pocket.
" Don't play smart with me." He bring out the card key from his pocket shoving it into her hand and loss himself from her grip.
" Sorry little cat."
" How did you get this?" Mark stood to face her.
" My dear Susan,you don't have to be so fierce! come on I own the card! Just call Cathy to confirm."
" Susan look at him wondering how he knew her name. She went to the house phone and dial Cathy phone number. She nod her head as she placed the phone back on the table. She went to Mark and demand for his identity card.
" Hand me your I.D now. " Mark put it on her hand after confirming the name according to what Cathy said on the phone she return it to him.
" I don't know you are coming. Sorry"
" You don't have to apologize. anyways I am Mark and I know you are Susan." Susan accept the handshake. " How did you know my name?" She asked the. " Don't worry I have heard all about you from my friend." They exchange few more words and Susan excuse herself to change into a clean cloth.

The following morning.
" Little Cat, why are you up so early ?" Mark asked rubbing his eye.
" Lazy bum. Am preparing for work as you can see. Where is Cathy?"
"Sleeping." The two sat in the kitchen to eat the sandwich she prepare. Susan look at him as he was eating, she smile as she remembered how the two of them talk at length last night. She love all the group of friends very well (except someone) they all treat her like one of them. She like his personality he is just like Peter too,cool and funning not like the cold CEO in the office." Little cat? do I have something on my face? "
" Yes, I suddenly see your face turning to vampire." Mark stick out his tongue at her and the of them burst into laughter. " Can you two allow me to enjoy my beauty sleep?" Cathy said sitting beside Mark. " My angel! Do I look like vampire?" Cathy check his face " Not at all. You look as handsome as always." She said placing a kiss on his face. " Oh!! that so sweet."
" Hey! Doctor Cathy! Am OK with all the dog food. Can you spare the single like me." The two continue to kiss each other and ignore her. Susan sigh finish her tea, she grab her bag and make for the door. It is time she leave she did not want to be late for work. " You can continue. Am going. See you in the evening." Mark wave at her without stopping what he is doing.

Susan sat on her desk focusing on her work. The intercom on her table rang disturbing her focus. " Meet me in my office now." came the order when she picked it up. Reluctantly she picked up some files that needed signature.
Knock, knock!
" Come in!"
" Am here sir! " She said placing the files on the table.
" Why did you go home yesterday without informing me again.?"
" Is there anything you want me to do?"
" Susan, why are you doing this to me? what do you want me to do for you to believe me that I love you. Why are you avoiding me?"
" Point of correction sir, I am not avoiding you. Since I have know my way around here now there is no need to drop me, I can manage on my own."
" Really???You can manage on your own yet someone splash you with dirty water and you cannot do anything to it."
Susan was surprised to hear that. She wonder how he knew. ' Did he have someone stalking me .'
" You are surprised right??Don't worry I did not stalk you but I have my ways." He said with a smile reading her mind.
"As expected of a ruthless Boss."
" I will take that as a compliment my lady! " He said with a beautiful smile dancing on his lips.
" You should smile often. It make you more handsome."
" Thank you. If it is for you I will do that only for you to see. Others don't need to know how handsome I am. "
" Sir? can I go now?" she asked ignoring his statement.
" Make me a cup of coffee." Susan bow her head and leaves the office to make him what he requested.

Susan was brought out of her wool gather when her head bump onto the window of the car. She looked around to see they are taking a different route . She did not suspect a thing she thought she might have blotted out a different address when she boarded the car earlier." Sir? can you please turn around this is not the way to where am going.
