Chance

•••••Xavier's POV•••••

I somehow controlled my laughter by biting my inner cheeks. 

I looked towards Aaria and saw her scrunching her eyebrows in confusion, which made it harder for me to control myself from laughing. 

After some time, I relaxed and tried to focus on my lessons. 

When the class ended, I grabbed Daxton's things and we walked out of the class and saw him leaning against the wall and looking up at the ceiling. 

After noticing us, he angrily came towards us stomping his foot and harshly snatched his bag from me. 

He was looking like an angry child who lost his favourite candy and was stomping his foot over it. 

He was glaring at Ethan, which made him and me laugh. 

We were hardly composing ourselves. Daxton went towards Aaria, who was standing behind us all the time. 

I didn't notice her until now. 

Daxton: Aaria sees they always make fun of me together. Don't talk to them because I won't be talking to them to(Pouting and glaring at us) 

Aaria: Okay. (Looking at him)

Daxton: Leave them and let's go to the cafeteria together. (Joining his hands with her and taking her away) 

Aaria: St....stop. Ben...Benny is no... Not he. Here yet. (Nervously) 

Daxton: See, there she is( Pointing toward Benny who was standing in the hallway) 

(Daxton went towards her held her hands and dragged both of them together towards the cafeteria) 

He's such a kid (Chuckling). 

He was complaining like a child, making me want to pull his cheeks. 

Suddenly I noticed that while the hallway was silent and everyone was staring at us like they just saw some ghost. 

Ethan noticed it too. 

Ethan: Let's go. (In a cold voice) 

(Now what's wrong with him he was laughing a minute ago and now he's sounding angry) 

(God why are you making me suffer? One of my best friends is behaving like a child and the other is bipolar. I'm confused. Have some mercy and make them normal again before I become abnormal like them. Ughhhh) 

(Tiredly sighs) 

Xavier: Ye.Yeah. Let's go. (Awkwardly) 

(We're going towards the cafeteria and for the first time, I felt the air around me cold and terrifying because of Ethan. ) 

( He seemed disturbed and angry. I want to ask about it, but I don't dare to ask now. I'll ask when he'll look normal) 

But this atmosphere is too much for me to take, so I decided to lighten up the mood. 

Xavier: Did you notice Daxton? He was acting like a child who didn't get his favourite candy. Hahaha(Awkwardly laughs) 

Ethan: Yeah, I noticed but it was too childish of him to behave like that and he shouldn't drag any girl like that. He's scaring her instead of making her comfortable. 

Well, I'm not the only one who thinks like that. Even Ethan thinks the same too.

 Xavier: Yeah, right. I even think that too. (Nodding his head) 

Ethan: Tell him to give her time and don't touch her unnecessary. She looks uncomfortable whenever he holds her. 

When did he notice? I thought he was busy with his cell phone. Should I make him realize what he just said? 

No no, it's not the right time. But he's the right though. 

But who will talk to Daxton? 

We entered the cafeteria and saw them standing in line. 

Wait, what the hell?

Am I dreaming???

From when did Daxton start to wait in line? 

Ethan and I looked at each other at the same time and went towards them. 

Xavier: From when did you start doing this? As far as I know, you directly take food from the counter. (Arching his eyebrows) 

Daxton: She made me do this(Pointing and glaring at Benny) 

Xavier: Ohh, Carry on(Smirking) 

Ethan went to sit on our usual table and I was standing behind Aaria in line. 

When our turn came, I noticed that she only took some strawberry milk and left with Benny. 

I hurriedly took 2 pizza and drinks for me and Ethan and went towards them. 

Daxton made them sit with us. I was sitting beside Ethan. Daxton was beside Benny and Aaria was sitting in front of me and Ethan. 

She was drinking her milk with a straw and was looking anywhere except us. 

But why is she only drinking milk? 

Is she not hungry? 

Xavier: Are you sure that you don't need anything else other than milk? 

Aaria: No. No. I'm not hungry. (Shaking her head)

Xavier: Okay. 

              •••••Aaria's POV•••••

After class when I came out of the class, I noticed Ethan and Xavier laughing at Daxton. 

Seeing me there, Daxton came and started to complain about them.

 For a moment I enjoyed it. Because he was behaving like a child and unknowingly I smiled. 

Then he dragged me towards Benny and then we went to the cafeteria. 

He insisted on taking food directly but Benny refused it directly.

 I wasn't hungry, so I only bought strawberry milk for myself. I wanted to go to the garden but Daxton didn't let me go so I had no choice but to come here. 

Xavier asked me if I wanted anything else, I rejected politely. 

I don't want to accept it, but I feel like they're not what I thought they were. Because until now, they didn't do anything to harm me. 

Yeah, they scared me but they didn't mean any harm. 

I shouldn't have judged them by listening to others. They seem nice. 

They treated me nicely until now. I think I should give them a chance, but what if they leave me after knowing about my past, the truth. 

What would they do if they knew that I'm responsible for the death of my family?

 I'm sure that they'll leave me as everyone else did.

 They'll start to bully me.

 No no, I can't bear it. I can't suffer it all again.

 I wanted a new start.

 As I remember my past school days. I suddenly started to feel suffocated. 

I need to get out of here. My tears were on the verge of coming out. I needed to get out of here. 

Aaria: Excuse me(Getting up from her chair) 

(Everyone started to look at her ) 

Benny: Where are you going? (Getting up from her seat) 

Aaria: I have some work. I'll meet you later (Without turning back) 

Benny: Let's go together then. (Picking up her bag) 

Daxton: Yeah, let's go together. (Standing up) 

Aaria: No, I'm fine. I'll go alone. Bye. 

(Saying this I hurriedly left) 

(Right now I need some time alone and I don't want anyone to see me like this)

 I made my way towards the garden and sat under the tree. 

I pulled my legs towards my chest and put my head on my knees and started to sob. 

After some time, I wiped my tears and picked up my things and went to the washroom. 

I washed my face and headed towards the next class.

 I have decided that I'll try my best to keep my distance from them. I need to keep my walls up so that I won't get hurt. 

I made my way towards the next class and saw the trio with Benny in the hallway looking around.

 Maybe they're looking for me. I changed my way and went towards my next class. 

The whole day I successfully avoided them.

After school, I went home and took a shower. 

After freshening up, I made dinner and waited for my aunt and uncle. We had dinner together. 

They were telling me something funny that happened to them together. 

I was laughing when they were laughing. 

Honestly, I didn't understand a single thing because my mind was somewhere else. 

I still wasn't confident about my decision to keep my distance from them. 

After dinner, I bid them goodnight and went to my room and slept.
