New Day

•••••Aaria's POV•••••

I woke up when I heard my phone ringing. 

I got up and saw it was 6 P.M. 

I picked up my phone and saw 5 missed calls from my Aunt. 

I hurriedly called her back and assured her that I'm alright and was sleeping. 

She told me that they'll be late and will have their dinner on their way back so I don't have to worry or wait for them. 

After talking for a few more minutes, I ended the call and laid back on my bed. 

I started to think about today's incident and then at my new friend's and my lips curved into a smile. 

Maybe it's the wrong decision, but I don't have any regrets. For the 1st time in 9 years, I'm this excited and happy. 

I got up from my bed and made my way towards the kitchen and decided to have instant noodles instead of cooking something. 

After eating, I went back to my room and started reading novels. 

When my head started to get heavy, I put my book down and slept. 

          •••••Next Morning ••••• 

I woke up and was welcomed by the darkness. 

I checked and saw it was only 4:35 A.M.

For the first time, I'm excited and smiling thinking about going to school. Because I know that I won't be alone from now on because I have friends now.

I happily got ready and wore my black jeans paired with a grey sweater. 

I put my hair in a loose bun and grabbed my bag and cellphone and made my way downstairs. 

I prepared scrambled dijonnaise while humming and listening to "Lovebug by Jonas brothers ". 

I heard footsteps and turned around. 

I saw my uncle and aunt standing in the doorway smiling at me. 

I smiled back at them.

Aaria: Have your seat. Breakfast is ready. (grabbing plates from the cub board).

Aunt: Someone's in a good mood today. (Helping Aaria in a serving) 

Uncle: Yeah. 

Aunt: Tell me what it is? (Excitedly) 

Aaria: Nothing aunt, have your breakfast now. We're getting late. (Sitting on the chair).

Aunt: As you say sweetie (Smiling) 

After breakfast, uncle dropped me off to the school and bid me bye. 

I was happy until I started walking towards the main gate. 

Suddenly yesterday's incident started to play in my mind. 

I looked around and started to freak out. I noticed that everyone was looking at me and was whispering something again. 

I called Benny but she didn't pick up. 

I think I should wait for her because I don't have the guts to enter alone through the main gate. 

I slowed my pace and I looked at my cellphone in the hope that she'd call me back but she didn't. 

Suddenly, I felt a heavy arm around me. I was shocked but soon relaxed and smiled, realizing that it's none other than Daxton. 

Daxton: Hey. (Excitedly)

Aaria: He..hello. 

For the first time, I'm not feeling scared of him and I feel relaxed that he's with me. I looked beside me and saw Xavier walking beside me. 

Xavier: Hey Aaria.

 Aaria: Hello. (Smiling) 

I looked beside him then back at Daxton but I didn't see Ethan. 

Where is he? 

I wanted to thank him. 

Daxton: Are you looking for anyone? 

Aaria: Uhm.. n...nope.(Nodding at him) 

My phone rang and I looked at the caller I'd and saw it was from Benny. I picked up the call. 

Aaria: Hello. 

Benny: Sorry, I'm stuck in traffic so I'll be there in a few minutes. 

Aaria: No problem. 

Benny: Bye, see you in a few minutes. 

After hanging up, we made our way towards the lockers. 

Daxton dragged me with him to his locker first. Saying that he wouldn't leave me alone, surprisingly Xavier agreed with him. 

After reaching their locker, I noticed that Ethan was behind us all this time and he was glaring at Daxton all this time. 

Oh no, wrong timing.

 I guess I'll thank him tomorrow. 

After they grabbed their things, we made our way towards my locker. As I got closer to it, I saw Benny there. 

Seeing me, she smiled but her smile faded when she noticed the trio behind me. 

Benny: Daxton please stop it will you? (Putting her hand on her waist) 

Daxton: Stop What? (confusedly)

Benny: Glaring at every one of the students like you are going to eat them alive? You're scaring of them. 

Daxton: No, I'm not glaring at them. I was just looking. (Shrugging his shoulders) 

Benny: Ugh (Sighing and rolling her eyes) 

Aaria: Leave it, we're getting late. Hurry up. (To benny) 

After that, we went to our perspective classrooms.

For the whole day, none of them left me alone and I'm grateful for that because I'm still scared after yesterday's incident. 

During lunch breathe ak, I was again dragged to the cafeteria by Daxton, but this time I enjoyed my time with them. 

I didn't speak much but I enjoyed it. 

I also gained some unnecessary attention from other students, which made me feel uncomfortable but soon I decided to ignore it. 

I looked towards the smiling face in front of me and felt lucky and normal for the 1st time after 9 years.

 I feel blessed, it still feels like a dream and if it's a dream then I don't want to wake up from it because I never felt lucky. 

After having lunch, we made our way towards my next class. 

Then I remembered that I had this class with Ethan. 

It felt awkward but safe to walk towards the class with him alone. 

He was walking fast but soon I matched his pace because I don't want to be left alone.

I wanted to thank him but I always failed to speak it in front of him. 

Even though I practised it, I always get nervous whenever it's time to thank him. 

We entered the class and took our seats. 

He was sitting beside me scrolling something on his cellphone. 

Should I thank him?

 I still have a few minutes before the professor comes. 

What's with this guy? 

Why is he always busy with his phone?

 I'm afraid that he'll get angry if I disturb him. 

Okay, I'll talk to him when he's not using his cellphone. 

I'm so lost in thinking that I didn't realize that I was continuously staring at him. 

Ethan: Do I have something on my head??

Aaria: Huh?? N...Noo.

Ethan: Then Do you want to make a hole in my head? (Without looking up from his phone) 

Aaria: Yeah...... what??? No no, I didn't mean that. I'm sorry. (Embarrassingly looking back at her books) 

Ethan: Hmm... 

Aaria: So.. Sorry (Nervously) 

What the hell? 

Now I'm sure that he must think that I'm a pervert. 

How can I stare at him? 

Ohh God, this is so embarrassing. 

I just want to dig a hole and hide in it. 

Ugh, Aaria why you always make fools of yourself. 

Ethan: What is it? 

Aaria: Huh? Wh....what? (Confusingly) 

Ethan: (Locks his phone and turn towards Aaria and looks at her) What do you want to say? (Gently)

How did he know that I wanted to say something? 

You idiot if you stare at him continuously and open your mouth like a fish and shut it without speaking then how he can not understand that you are trying to tell him something??

Aaria: Ohh, no. Nothing (Mumbling) 

Ethan: Really? (Arching his brows) 

Say it Aaria, you can do it. 

This is your chance. 

Aaria: I. I wanted to thank you for taking me to the medical room and for saving me. (Nervously) 

Ethan: Okay, but don't get into any more trouble in the future. (Looking at her) 

Aaria: Th. Thank you. (Nervously) 

(Ethan lightly smiles back )

He looks cute while smiling.

 Soon the teacher comes and starts teaching us. 

The other half of the day went peacefully and happily for me. 

Today I didn't feel weird around them and was able to focus on those classes which I and Daxton don't have in common. 

In Maths class Xavier sat near the wall, next to him was Daxton and Daxton was nagging me to sit beside him but Ethan sat before me so I had to sit beside Ethan near the window seat. 

During the whole period, I could hear Daxton Sighing irritatingly, which made me laugh. 

I hope my everyday life goes the same as today. Peacefully and happily with my new friends.
