Multiple peek through the door, and no one was showing up. Okay, she was not just expecting anyone, but she thought maybe Ares could show up. She found it useless to wait for him then decided to sit back on the hospital bed. Giving up that someone was to be by her side as she went through the surgery.
"Give us the room for a moment, please." Doctor Edwardo, Ares' father, said to his co-doctor, who obeyed him and left.
Lisa started rubbing her hands on her thighs, which were sweating from nervousness. Her belly felt cold as she was not yet ready."You are not ready," Edwardo announced, pulling himself a seat sitting in front of Lisa. "You are not ready." He emphasized again, which made her heart flip.
"I...I am scared." She quietly answered. "No, you are not. You were expecting someone, and they didn't show up. Who were you expecting?" He asked, and she tensed. There was no how she was going to tell him she was expecting his son to show up. Yes, Ares was the only person whom she could rely on, but from what they did last night seemed to have changed everything. And she thought maybe he never wanted to see her ever again because probably he got what he wanted.
"Anyone. J-just anyone to act like a family." Lisa whispered, then looked away. "I am alone, doctor. I-I am lonely."
If only she knew what she was feeling for Ares, what was she was to crave forever. Not just for him to be there. Her body felt new sensation whenever she thought of last night, and what she was expecting was Ares to show up and give her a peck or tuck in her hair and whisper 'you can do this.'
But she realized Ares just used her. He made love to her to help him forget about Rae. He used her as a tool, and that made her heart sink.
"I am here, Lisa. I came up with this, and I will take care of you. I won't let anything happen to you. I know it will be painful, but you can do it. So, don't feel lonely; I am here." Doctor Eduardo assured making Lisa calm down a bit.
"How long will it take?" She asked, feeling a particular motivation pushing her just to be herself. To forget about the past and move on. Maybe the new face was to end up bringing good fortune. That is what she thought. "You might be in a coma for some days due to the great pain your body is going to experience Then you will take some weeks to fully recover and for the bandages to be removed from your body. But here is good news, after my team helps in the surgery, I will have you transferred to another hospital where I am to be working, it's a bit far, but I will be there 24/7 to take care of you." He assured, and she already felt safe. "Incase I...I die, pl-""No death Lisa. I have done this for five years now, and I always get good results. The worse that can happen is you losing your memory since you will have surgery done on your head. But that is a 50 percent probability." He explained.
"Okay. I trust you. My life is in your hands. In case I don't make it, tell June and Ares that I said thank you. They have been nice to me. And for you, I thank you for doing this. I can't thank your family enough." She wiped a tiny tear then exhaled slowly. "I am ready." "Should I call my children? Do you want to talk to them before we do this?" He asked with a concerned voice. "No. It's okay. We had talked before I came here. Thank you anyway." Lisa smiled, knowing it was just a lie. "If you say so. Be strong." She smiled, then a question popped in her head. "Wait, and how will I look after the surgery?" "Possibly, we are restoring your original appearance." He smiled then started walking to the door. Damn, I am so not ready. She mentally complained.~^~
Two years back
A huge bag was tossed inside a land cruiser, which was parked outside McDonald's. It was minutes past midday, and everyone was at work. Well, that was what Camilla thought. But Mike was still in the house. Mike, her older brother. She was planning to get away and escape to a another country without informing her parents, who were against the idea. Kai, her bodyguard, stood outside the car, waiting for her to come out. She trusted Kai with all her heart, and for Kai, he loved Camilla because she was the only person who treated the workers well. "Ready?" Camilla asked after stepping outside wearing a long white puffy trench coat, which made her look as though she was going to the moon. "I was born ready, Milla." Kai opened the door for her. He had a name for her, which always made Camilla feel special since Kai wasn't just a bodyguard to her; he was like a brother. "It appears disrespectful to leave against fathers will." They both froze when they heard Mike's voice approaching them. Camilla stepped down from the car and waited for her brother's arrival. Not ready for an argument. "Kai, start the car," Camilla instructed him then turned to Mike. "Here for a lecture?" "No, no, no. Am I not allowed to kiss my young sister goodbye? You know, they say when you disrespect your parents, the world will teach you a lesson, and I pray it does." Mike spat, his voice mocking her. "A lesson?" She smiled. "I wake up every day, ready for new lessons which keep me strong. So I am ready Mike, just say you are happy I am leaving." She held the doorknob, opening the car to get in. "Yes. I am happy you are leaving, and I could be super happy if you could disappear forever from our lives." He gritted then began to walk away, but Camilla stopped him. "Why don't you use the hatred you have towards me for something useful, like..." She held a forefinger on her chin. "...like surfing the internet and get to know how to deal with your life. Don't you find it boring to be dumb?" She winked then got in the car. Knowing very well, she insulted him. Mike never graduated; he always failed in every exam, which made it so difficult for his father to even care about him. His father wanted someone to take care of his business, and since Camilla was the smart one in the family, her father wanted it to be her, but Camilla had plans of her own. Her plans and her fathers collided, which brought conflict in the family. "I wish you could die!" Mike bitterly uttered as he watched the car drive away from the house. He was hurt by her words, which felt true. "Stop by Shawn's." Camilla finally said something after almost five minutes of driving in silence. "What? Why are you smiling?"
"I always try to figure out a reason why your brother hates you cause when I look at you, damn everybody can sure like you." His eyes were fixed on the road, but a cute smile crept on his lips.
"You love flirting with me, Kai." Camilla rolled her eyes, staring outside the window. "Which works, yeah?" He voiced, making Camilla shift on her seat uncomfortably. "Don't make me fire you, Kaiser. Just don't." She teased. "I am not sure you can do that, but well, I rest my case cause here we are." He turned to the left of the road which headed to Shawn's working place. "I'll wait in the car." She gave rolled eyes then stepped out of the car, walking to the entrance of the building. Everyone greeted her with a smile and admiration. Many had watched her movie, which she was staring at, as it had gone viral. She surely earned a name after appearing in the film. At the end of the hallway of the building, she saw Shawn's office and her body rigidified. Shawn could move her in a second by his looks and his cute smile.
"See who just decided to hug her boyfriend goodbye." Shawn stood when Camilla stepped inside the office.
"Please tell me you will take me to the airport." Camilla lay her head on his chest. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Shawn planted a kiss on her hair, clutching his hands around her waist. "Please come back immediately you are done with that advert." He articulated, and Camilla nodded."Of course. I have a house to move in and two businesses to officially declare open." Camilla whined as she enjoys the embrace. She had bought a house which she was to move into as she was tired of staying with her parents, who never liked her. Her father mostly. She also had a boutique she owned but was yet to open. The second business was a restaurant she partnered with her best friend, Ace.
"That's all?" Shawn sounded hurt. "You don't have a boyfriend to come back to?"
"Come here." She pulled him, then kissed him passionately. "Of course, I'll come back to you." She whispered between the kisses."Good. Make sure to be blind to other men. Especially Ares Malcolm. He is not cute than me, Lia." Shawn walked to pick his jacket on his seat.
"Who is Ares Malcolm?" Camilla asked with a knitted brow.
"The owner of The Spark organization. The man you will work for those two weeks." Shawn crossed his hand around her waist as they walked out.
"Did you just stalk him?" "I had to know who with my lady will be working. You know I love you, huh?" He kissed her forehead again." "Insecurities!" She spat, her eyes were looking at Kai who appeared to be not okay when he saw Shawn was accompanying them to the airport. " I will be back, Shawn." Camilla knew there were few people to whom she needed to come back. People were going to miss her when she was away. Her mother was the first person. She knew her mother loved her even though her father always controlled her. She also had a brother, a little brother who always loved her. Joe always loved it when Camilla picked him from school, and she knew he would be bored for the two weeks she will be away. She had a best friend, Ace. Ace and Camilla were childhood friends who couldn't live without each other.
Then Shawn, her boyfriend. Dated for three years and were ready to get married. And leaving Panama, accompanied by Kai as her bodyguard, she promised herself to go back to those who loved her, because she was nothing without them.
But she had no idea what was waiting for her in Washington DC.

Just a little peak of who Lisa is.
LisaI, Camilla MacDonald was finally on my way home after being dead to my friends and family and everyone who knew me, for two years. Now I was returning home... as a resurrected soul. The harsh reality snatched my identity, wiped off my memories, thanks to the surgery which sent me into a coma for three months, but I regained the memories...fortunately. I could now remember everything. I was not a handmaid. I was an actress, Lia Donald. I was definitely not Melisa; I was Camilla. I wasn't hated. I was loved by many. Maybe not as much, but hope kept me moving. I was from Panama and not Washington, DC. I remembered a lot. I woke up in the middle of the night, having slept for months, and then

Lisa"I understand this is your house, but please learn to knock." I gave a whining nasal voice as I pushed my legs off the bed to stand. "Good afternoon to you too." He teased, then his eyes shifted to what I was holding. "What are you hiding?" "I am not hiding." I held up the notebook. "It is for you, by the way." I opened the first page then chortled. "For me? Okay, let me have it." "Hold on, Jeez! Being yours doesn't mean I am giving it without instructions." I shoved my tongue out to the left, signaling him to sit. "It won't take long." "Right. Now, get into it, curiosity is killing me." He sat a few inches away from me then gazed at me. "Alright, Mr impatient man. But before ever
Lisa_____I tried hard to pretend I don't have a heart for my own benefit. Battling to act like my heart was a rock to fit in, in the society. I had buried my heart, for long as I can remember because a wise man once said 'the best way to not get your heartbroken, is to act like you don't have one' But lets at least be factual here, I have a heart — a flesh. And I am broken. I am a human, and I have feelings. It's hard to dissemble here; it's hard being selfless to make others happy. Saying some hurtful things to one's face is heartbreaking, and it's better to keep them hidden, even if they are true. I was in doctor Edwardo's ma

Deep down my heart, knowing he was the only person I had, who cared for me and whom I cared for, and he was my everything. "Help!" He begged for help, looking defeated since he was drowning. But I was there for him. "I'm coming," I assured him as I jumped into the pool and begun to swim towards him. He was seven years old, very young, but determined to learn how to swim. "I got you." I held him on his waist then swam back out of the pool. "Breath, please, Breath!" I laid him on the ground then began to give him compressio
