Chapter IV: Wedding Preparation

Narrator’s POV

It's been a month, and the people in the palace are busy preparing for King Alaric and Princess Beatrice's upcoming wedding. For those past weeks, King Alaric and Princess Beatrice are both busy. King Alaric is busy with his paper works, and the wedding, and Princess Beatrice are busy too with her etiquette lessons and the wedding preparations.

The king is taking a photo first for the wedding invitations.

“You look dashing today, your highness,” the photographer said

"Thank you,”

King Alaric poses at the camera.

It's Princess Beatrice's turn, and she is lovely and beautiful. After taking the photo, she was joined by King Alaric to get their pictures taken together.

That night, the king called Princess Beatrice to go to the king’s room immediately.

"What's the matter, Alaric?"

"The wedding is not going to happen," King Alaric said furiously.

“But why?”

"They did not accept it,"

"The capital is the once to decide and approve of the royal weddings," Livie said

“Why not approve it?”

"Because they don't accept you as the king's bride yet," Livie said

"It's not fair,"

"Maybe they will accept you if you will accept the challenge to find a crown in a maze, but its dangerous princess because they might plan something," Livie said

“Whatever it takes, I will do it,"

"No, I cannot let you go there, just like Livie said, it's too dangerous for you,"

"But it's the only way to accept me as your bride,"

"You know that it's not that simple. I don't want you to be harmed and hurt,"

"Who do you think of me? I can handle it Alaric,"

"I oppose,"

Princess Beatrice walked out. She wanted to do it no matter what it takes. She can do it, and she knows it.

Princess Beatrice’s POV

Its morning already and I'm planning to go outside the palace. I went to an orphanage with lots of children. A caretaker approached me.

“Good morning, are you our future queen?”

"Good morning, yes I am,"

"You are beautiful,"

"Thank you,"

Suddenly, a child approached me.

"Are you the future queen? Because I saw you at the wedding picture,"

"Yes, I am,"

"The king always looks at those flowers whenever he visits here,”

“He visits here?”

“Yes”

I never thought Alaric would visit an orphanage. He is so secretive.

"He said something to me yesterday, and it’s about you, your highness," the caretaker said.

“What is it?”

“King Alaric said that he thinks of you and that the world has no meaning for him back then, but when you came, he starts to appreciate the little things,"

"King Alaric has matured,"

"Thank you for saying that to me. Yes, when I first met Alaric, he is childish and arrogant, but when I got to know him more in just a short time, he is kind and so caring,"

I didn’t know that Alaric is like that. I want to repay him. Suddenly, all the children gave me lots of flowers. I’m planning to give it to Alaric.

When I arrived, I found him sleeping.

King Alaric’s POV

I woke up because I feel someone touching my hair.

“Did I wake you up?”

"No. That's a lot of flowers. Where did you go?” Alaric said with a shocked expression

"I went to the orphanage, and the children gave me lots of flowers. The caretaker told me something about you,"

“And what is that?”

"It's a secret,"

“Ok”

I was curious as to what the caretaker said to Beatrice, but nevermind.

"I also made up my mind. I want to do it. I want to get that crown. I want them to accept me as your bride, Alaric,"

"Ok, if that's what you want,"

She cupped my face.

"I want to be with you and share your pain because you are not alone. You have me now. This is our fight,"

I was stunned about what she said. It made my heart beat faster. I'm touched.

“Stop cupping the face, Beatrice,"

"Ok, ok. I will stop,"

Narrator’s POV

After that, they went to the location to get the crown. Princess Beatrice was instructed by the people in the capital. Princess Beatrice is about to enter when King Alaric stopped her.

"Beatrice, stay safe there, I trust you,"

"Uhum, see you later,"

It's dark and cold, but she is brave. After some time, she found the box containing the crown, but when she opened it, the crown is not inside. She thinks that she is being tricked, and it is planned. She sensed someone approaching her at her back and was about to attack her.

What will happen to Princess Beatrice? Will she escape?
